My husband and I spent one night at this beautiful and comfortable farmhouse in October, 2011. Since I did not have a pre-planned map of just where it was we made a call to the owner Ray from Chateau Biron ( which is only a 10 minutes drive away ) and he came and met us and we followed him in his car. ( thanks Ray! )
This house is set in complete privacy with all amenities. They are many rooms to unwind in ( 2 sitting rooms) a dining room ( with piano ) 4 beautifullly appointed bedrooms. We had the Dubois room and it was lovely. I was allowed to view all rooms though and all very worth a stay.
Ray and his wife were very welcoming. I kind of felt I was staying at my Aunt and Uncle's :o) Most likely would stay here again if we happen back in the area.

I jus returned from Monpazier, and stayed again with Ray & Jacinta, as my last visit was so pleasant. Everything is still just as good, except it's now winter and the log fire was roaring. Incredibly gracious, thoughtful hosts create a lovely easy atmosphere in their home. Although most of rural France hibernates for the winter, I found the area to be really beautiful, the scenery is gorgeous at this time. Nearby Villereal market was still buzzing on Saturday morning (can't go past Monsieur Blanchard's famous patisserie - you feel like you've gone straight to gourmet heaven!) and we had a lovely meal at Les Remparts in Castillones.

Ray and Jacinta in their bucolic, updated Domaine des Faures are
the ultimate hosts. We spent 4 nights with them in a gorgeous room with modern bath. Jacinta fed us such a wonderful dinner the night of our arrival that we ate with them 2 more evenings. After greeting their 10 Aubracs (cattle) upon daily returns from their tours, we would have a drink in front of their charming fireplace. Ray and Jacinta are experts on area gardens, wines, ruins, bastides, châteaux, & markets. We had rental car tire problems; Ray took us into his village garage to get help.
If you are searching for a charming stay near Sarlat or Bergerac, they are the perfect pair to provide it!

We stayed at the end of October and we're lucky enough to have some lovely sunny autumn weather. The house was a perfect place to relax and Ray and Jacinta couldn't have been anymore helpfully or friendly.
A great place to use as a base to explore the surrounding Chateau and Bastide towns. Horse riding at a small place near Villereal was both very enjoyable and a bargin.
Sarlat is definitely a gem and should be explored at night when the narrow streets and lights are magical.
The longer drive to Geoffre de Padriac is well worth it and the boat ride in the caves was as good as expected.

I stayed at Domaine des Faures with my wife for a luxurious few days. Flights to Bergerac were good value and the house is only about 30 mins away from the airport. The setting is stunning. A recently refurbished manor house set amongst rolling countryside (and cows!) and well located for visiting the Bastide villages of Issigeac, Monpazier and Chateau Biron. We hired bikes and spent most days exploring cafes, vineyards and Chateaux before hurtling home to dive straight in the pool!

The owners, Ray & Jacinta were excellent hosts. On hand for advice and occasional Bar-B-Q'ing feasts but non intrusive so that you could really relax. They've only recently completed the luxurious refurbishment so the rooms were immaculate. L'Occitane toiletries were a welcome surprise too!

We didn't have the most perfect weather but probably for the best as it meant that we explored the area by bike and kayak (!) rather than vegetating by the pool.

We only came for a brief visit but wish we could have stayed much longer. Ray and Jacinta are great hosts who know the locale (Montpazier which is very close is delightful) and seem ready to help with ideas but let you do your own thing. The house has been renovated recently, looks like the photos on the website (not always true!) and is airy (big benefit on a hot day). Lovely walk through the woods to nearby Biron Chateau. About half an hour form Bergerac airport (only problem: watch out for the turning off the main road - sign not that easy to see).

We stayed 10 days out here as a family (the house is split between seasons for b/b versus a rental home to oneself). Ray and Jacinta were great hosts. Unobtrusive, yet always around for advice (sites, restaurants, etc.)

The house itself was perfect for us (5 total) and Monpazier is a gem of a little town. We had a blast in a super peaceful retreat, still in the heart of the Dordogne.

I could go on, but suffice to say, all things considered, this exceeded expectations.

We booked the whole house for a weeks holiday with another family. A fantastic house which is well equipped and spacious. The setting is extremely peaceful and quiet and the gardens and pool beautifully maintained. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back.

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights last week and were completely amazed by the beauty of the house, its land, its interiors and its hosts. The property is simply stunning and will be remembered by us for many years, it really is the most idyllic, peaceful retreat. The rooms were lovely, clean and charming and we slept amazingly well in the quiet surroundings.
The Domaine des Faures is situated 30 mins lovely walk (10 mins drive) from the beautiful Monpazier, and is an excellent base for visiting the Dordogne and the surrounding areas.
Ray & Jacinta are the perfect hosts, they are genial, friendly and kind and no request is ever a hassle or problem. The continental breakfasts were delicious, fresh and varied. During our stay, tea, coffe and even wine was regularly offered and gratefully accepted. We can not speak highly enough of the hosts and they genuinely felt like long-lost friends as opposed to accommodation hosts and we give the Domaine Des Faures the highest recommendation we can

My new husband and I visited Domain des Faures for a nights stay during mid June this year as part of our cycle touring honeymoon around the region. What a lovely spot. The whole house has been refurbished beautifully, with amazing attention to detail by Ray's wife Jacinta. Everything was spotlessly clean and luxurious.
We received the most lovely welcome in the form of a glass of red wine and lots of chat with the Standen's in the evening sunshine on their terrace. Then Ray very generously dropped us into Monpazier for supper to save our cycle weary legs and bottoms!
We are thinking of bringing our families back to rent the hire the gite in the future. Definitely recommended.
