Had a trip to Monpazier and an overnight at Les Hortensias B&B. The B+B is run by a very nice and amicable man who gave us a warm welcome and offered plenty of information of the area, he was very obliging and pleasant to chat with. The property itself is a large old property that has seen better days, but... More

Bruno was lovely; room, hot water, WiFi, breakfast + on-street parking all decent. What a nice surprise to have fresh orange juice! Breakfast is around a communal table; we enjoyed meeting the other guests. Would stay again.

Our stay at Les Hortensais was exceptional. We were in monpazier for a wedding, and found everything perfect. Our room was clean and had everything that we needed. I recommend to everyone to stay here and Monpazier is a beautiful town with a gorgeous square, lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy..

We stayed here for a friends wedding for three nights. The accommodation was clean, charming and right where we wanted to be, in the centre of Monpazier. Our host, Bruno was also lovely and very forgiving of our lack of French! He provided a basic but delicious breakfast each morning, usually just bread and croissant with some home-made jams etc.... We stayed in this 'maison d'hôte' 3 nights and they were perfect. We have 2 children and they loved walking in the garden and smelling the flowers The room was very spacious, clean, and regularly checked. The host was extremely polite, well intentioned and attentive to any need we had, wether it was a request for the room, for sightseeing... More

We booked a double room staying two nights whilst friends got married in Monpazier. On arrival we saw the beautiful house of Les Hortensias, located in the centre of the village. Inside is as beautiful as the outside, our room was fantastic; spacious with large en suite bathroom. It was peaceful and relaxing, with a lovely garden towards the back... More

We had a pleasant stay thanks to a welcoming and helpful owner. Its location close to the heart of the historic fortified town was excellent. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom well equipped. The breakfast was fine, which includes various types of delicious organic jams. The only downside we found that we could not pay with credit or... More

First view of this little hotel took my breath away - such a lovely building. Then the warm greeting from Bruno - he was everything a host should be & full of very valuable local knowledge. The decor was country chic & my room looked out over a rambling flower festooned garden. Should I return to Monpazier, I would not... More

We needed a place to stay at the last minute and Les Hortensias was the perfect option. Our room was nice and comfortable, if not modest. The house is a true BnB but we had our own bathroom. The town is beautiful and the market on Thursday is amazing. Clearly a place people (locals and tours) travel to shop. I'd... More

This is a lovely B and B, so close to the centre of the village that is makes visiting Monpazier effortless. Bruno was very helpful, the room was spotless and the breakfasts delicious. We were able to park very close to Les Hortensias too.

“We stayed in the room overlooking the garden which was at the rear of the property and nice and quiet.”

“There are four rooms, all of them lovely, although we opted for the large family room (for four) even though there was just two of us. It has two big windows that look out onto the street and car park (prettiest car park I have ever seen!) which I liked as I like to look out at passers by. The other 3 rooms would have looked out over the garden and/or terrace. The church bells go off at 07:00, but I don't imagine they would be any quieter at the back than at the front, or even the other side of town, in fact!”
