I stayed in one of the glamping tents for 3 nights with my partner, sister and two nephews and we had a fantastic time!
The photos of this location and the tents don't do it justice - I was surprised when we arrived! I thought they were a little pricey when we booked, but I could see that they were worth the money straight away.
The staff onsite are absolutely fantastic. We had an incident where one of my nephews was sick on two lots of bedding, and expected to be charged or reprimanded by the staff. However they were so kind and helpful - they replaced the bedding straight away (no charge) and were all very concerned for my nephew (who was just travel sick), which was lovely.
My recommendations for a visit here would be to bring some camping chairs if you're in a big group as there are only two outdoor chairs (and you might want to take them down to the fire pit!). I'd also say don't leave anything in your car accidentally because the walk up to the cabins is a bit of a tough one!

I stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 children and husband. Kids are 7 and 10. We all had a fantastic time. Kids had no technology, we played cards and enjoyed family time together. It was lovely to glamp and have all the essentials there for us. The beds were really warm and comfortable. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend you take some ear plugs incase it’s bad weather. On our first night it was heavily raining and windy and this kept me awake as the roof is made of tent material. There is an electric heater which warms up the room really fast or there is a log burner. We used the BBQ on the first night and got a takeaway from the local town on the second one, there is a pizza/kebab shop, fish and chips, Chinese & Co-op in the town. Try go on the Deep Mine Tour if you can, it was a fascinating experience and go explore one or more of the Zip world experiences . Great family fun.

Booked after having seen it on the gram (Instagram) and having recently developed an interest in glamping sites. On arrival we were immediately struck by the stunning scenery with panoramic views of the valley. The tents/huts themselves comprise a living/kitchen area, a bedroom with sleeping for 4 and a shower/toilet room; essentially everything you need. I noticed other reviews criticising the absence of a sofa/lounge area, which would've been nice but it's glamping and you can't have everything. The wood burner is a nice touch and came in very handy, there is also a plug in electric heater so that's taken care of. In terms of cooking, you've got a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster so may be a bit limited. We had a Chinese takeaway the first night (Taste Garden in Blaenau Ffestiniog - reviews weren't the best but we had no issues). We made use of the brick bbq the second night, which is a must, weather permitting as the combination of bbq and these views is a meal you hopefully won't forget. On our last night we ate at the Oakeley Arms Hotel, also in Blaenau (again reviews weren't great but we thought it was great - lasagne and ribs).

It's also worth mentioning that the tents are up a steep gravel track that you will need to walk up. In better times (thanks a lot COVID) they would've taxied you up and saved you the walk, currently they take your luggage up at the start of your stay and down when you check out.

All in all a great few days, hopefully we'll be back!

We arrived at the Safari Tents after checking in at the hotel, our bags were loaded onto a pickup truck and dropped off at our tent. We followed the truck up the steep hill on foot. On arrival the tent was nice and clean, the views were simply stunning!
The tent was reasonably well equipped with a fridge, cooking facilities, pots, pans, mugs ect. Heaters and logs were also included.

We checked the weather forecast (rainy and windy!) before arrival however considering the booking was pre-paid in full we decided to go ahead with the trip.

Sadly, we quickly discovered that the tent wasn’t coping too well with the elements. The roof and insulating lining were constantly flapping which caused an outrageous draft through the whole tent although it was all closed up - surely this can’t be right!? This was also really loud!!!
The breeze also made the tent really hard to keep warm especially the bathroom which didn’t seem to have any insulation. At night, this problem continued and sleep was incredibly difficult.

Our booking was for two nights but unfortunately we checked out the after one night as the weather was persistent and we didn’t fancy another sleepless night with nowhere to dry our wet clothes.

I completely understand that we had extreme weather conditions however, these tents are very exposed due to their location. I personally wouldn’t recommend staying here in the winter months.

First time Glamping- we had a fantastic two nights. So much fun. It was freezing cold weather but the log burner and electric radiator and hot water bottles kept us cosy

Spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, hotel quality bedding, lovely and dry ( I had feared the beds might be damp but they certainly weren’t )

Lovely views
Relaxed and peaceful

Doggie loved it too.

Only down sides were that the wood they supplied was wet and so wouldn’t burn. Luckily we had brought some sawdust briquettes. And there was piped loud Christmas music coming from the zip wire santas grotto from eight until eight! But we just entered into the Christmas spirit and went with the flow

Will be returning for sure

We nearly didn't go as the weather forecast was so terrible, which turned out to be accurate - torrential rain most of the week and winds up to 50 mph. But the cabin was so much warmer and dryer than we could have imagined. At no point did we feel wet or cold, or about to lose the roof over our heads! As well as a log burner, we were delighted to find two little heaters on arrival and a proper radiator in the bathroom. The tent is fully lined with wooden walls and felt ceilings which all helps with warmth and noise from the elements outside. The tent was spotlessly clean - like new - and so tastefully decorated. There isn't anywhere to sit in the living area except the benches at the dining table (one beanbag otherwise), so all there was for it was to snuggle up with the kids on the double bunk under a duvet, and watch movies on the excellent wifi whilst the wind and rain lashed down outside. Lovely family time. The views are beautiful and unusual (it's still a working mine, so quite industrial in parts). The very steep climb up from the parking area to the tents is a pain (less fit/able bodied be aware), and shipping our luggage in and out of the hotel truck to shuttle it up there from our car was quite stressful after a long drive on arrival, and the big back up at the end (especially in the rain). All in all a wonderful stay, and special time snuggling up with the family in the storm :) Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights. I cannot recommend highly enough. The safari Lodge we stayed in was brilliant really well appointed for what is effectively a tent. The location and the views were fantastic. Its located within easy reach of many of the attractions in and around the Snowdonia Park and the coast. The staff were brilliant... Especially Amanda who kept us informed and made sure our stay was going well. We had crazy weather with 30 degrees during the day and the worst thunder storms for years at night. She made sure all was well and checked we didn't need anything.
Thank you Llechwedd

A slightly atypical visit as only just opened and Wales still only emerging from lockdown. As a result the site was probably quieter than normal (we enjoyed the isolation and unlimited access to the hillside behind the tents which are partially normally dedicated to mountain biking - but were gutted not to be able to visit the mine.)

The quality of the tents are high quality and well equipped. We enjoyed the bbq on the sunny days and the wood burner for the chillier nights. The beds were warm and comfy. The tent was spotless and Amanda and the team looked after us very well both before and during our stay.

We enjoyed the walks you could do from the tents but it was also only a short drove to lovely kids friendly walks like the fairy glen and swallow falls (a little bit more taxing).

We had an electric car but fortunately found a high speed charger in the Royal Oak hotel in Betws - y - Coed, which also served great food on its terrace. Hangin’ Pizzas also to be recommended. We also used the Coop and chippie in Blaenau.

All in all a lovely trip we will remember and we will return to visit the mine.

We stayed for 1 night and had an amazing time, I just couldn't fault it. When we arrived or luggage was taken up for us and we walked to the tents which was much appreciated as it is a steep walk up. The tents are lovely and clean with everything you need (towels, bedding, cutlery etc). We were lucky with the weather so were able to sit out and enjoy the views whilst watching people enjoy the zip lines. We also called down for a drink at Plas Weunydd, the staff were lovely. We used the BBQ provided which was great. The log burner made the tent really cosy when the temperature dropped and again the following morning. We took an extra bag of logs with us but what was provided was enough - if we'd have stayed another night we'd have needed them. The beds were SO comfy, I don't usually sleep very well when away from home but I had the best nights sleep. Check out time is 10am - I couldn't find that info anywhere on the website. Again your luggage is taken back down to the car for you. I don't often stay in the same place twice as I like to try different places but we'll definitely be returning next year and for 2 nights next time! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing 2 night stay here! The tent was fantastic! The location is just incredible and the photos on the website really don’t do it justice! We didn’t venture off-site and were blessed with sunshine, so we were able to use the outdoor BBQ on both evenings. The pub is pleasant to have a drink (although they don’t serve food). Unfortunately the pizza place was closed and the food in the cafe very limited but this didn’t dampen our experience as we took lots of provisions. Sitting outside on the decking of the tent with a glass of wine (or 2!) was just wonderful! I would 100% return, but would consider the winter months carefully due to the cooking facilities. It’s worth a visit just to experience the views from the tents! Thank you!
