Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and some friends stopped here on the way back from a camping trip and it was exactly what we were looking for. Really good value for money and friendly staff. Wide range of options on the menu and it was all lovely! The garlic bread and chips were so good, as was the curry I had and pizzas.

Delightful place. Very clean and organised. Food was beautiful and plentiful! Staff were polite and food delivered without delay. It was a very cold and wet day and we walked into two rooms with lit roaring fires. Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you! 🫶👌

We had an excellent carvery here, the best we’ve ever had. The service was excellent even though it was very busy. It was lovely to have the harp playing in the background. What a lovely atmosphere too. We will certainly return very soon. We travelled from Denbigh, especially and were’nt disappointed.

I stayed here from October 2nd for 4 nights with a colleague Mountain Leader as together we were guiding a group of women participants in the adjacent mountains. We’d booked a small self-catering cottage but were very pleased to be upgraded to the much larger cottage: MOELWYN. MOELWYN allowed us to each enjoy a king size room which were comfortable and well appointed. Additionally there was a twin room which we didn’t use. The kitchen/diner was spacious and well equipped but several lights were missing. These were renewed by the handyman. There was also a very large tv beyond the dining table. A very large lounge was also comfortable and well equipped, again with a very large tv over the fireplace. None of the three bedrooms were en-suite and downstairs was a combined toilet/shower unit with a heated towel rail and large sink. The shower valve was difficult to shut off. The kitchen cupboards lacked left behind items such as spices, oil etc which are normally found in such properties. Recycling seemed to be non-existent so we brought everything home which was unsatisfactory in my opinion. Fabulous accommodation so I can highly recommend this cottage.

Called here for lunch having been for an excellent Sunday lunch many times previously. Not an extensive menu if you're looking for a light lunch, and as someone with special dietary requirements I did struggle to find something.. Eventually I decided on a 'sandwich' which although expensive at 16.99 I could cope with. It was advertised as bring served with chips and salad, neither of which I can eat.. So I asked if I could have JUST the sandwich.. After initially saying no, they then said I COULD have it without chips but that the price would still be the same! Sorry, but I think that's unreasonable. It was expensive to start with, the same price as some of the main meals , but it is what it is. I understand costs, but to charge for something you dont want and can't eat is ridiculous really. Not as if it entailed and extra work either, I was asking to NOT have something. We left without anything shan't be going back 👋. Better places not too far away

Went for a family meal here and all the food was terrible. This is a major warning to never go here to eat. The staff are badly trained, there is smashed glass outside of the entrance. I genuinely do not understand why this place has any 4 stars. Do not go here

If I could leave no stars I would. Went here for my brother in laws 40th Birthday. He left saying he couldn't believe he'd had the worst meal of his life on his 40th Birthday.... we were so gutted for him. He ordered the 'signature' scotch egg, as he cut it up, grease literally oozed out, despite this, he had a mouth full....of grissle... so disgusting. This was the worst, but other meals we ordered came in at ok-just about edible. And we were charged a premium price for the privelidge of all this! I won't go on, but eat here at your own peril!

Very happy they could fit us in by booking table late that afternoon after climbing Snowdon. Ordered minty lamb burger. Wasn’t sure on that! Burger quite dry. Awful sweet onions on top which over powered the burger. Rest of the meal was pleasant. Pud was a huge disappointment. Raspberry meringue with chantilly cream. Looked impressive when came out but meringue was very hard and very grainy like made with granulated sugar all you could taste was sugar. No raspberries and 1 strawberry. Ok place for a quick stop but basic food.
