Adrift is without a doubt the best location in Golden Bay from which to explore the surrounding area - Golden Bay, Takaka, Farewell Spit and top of the Abel Tasman. Cottages are gorgeous as are the landscaped grounds. Right on the beach with views of...More
What a wonderful place. It is absolutely quiet and peaceful. The perfect place to relax with just sitting on the terrace with stunning views on the ocean. A perfect location for beach walks. Also amazing hosts.
We just spent two weeks driving around the South Island. We stayed in luxury lodges, 4-5 star hotels and up market B&B’s. Adrift was our favorite and best value place to stay. We had three nights in the honeymoon cottage and loved it. The owners...More
Great place to stay, extremely friendly and the sunrise was spectacular. Would highly recommend it as we found it had everything and you felt like you were there by ourselves. Good area to stay as plenty to do near by.
We loved staying in one of the beachfront cottages at Adrift. It was a treat for a birthday weekend, and although pricey, it was PERFECT. We adored the privacy. We slept with all the windows and curtains open to listen to the sea, the dawn...More

Hi Rezruf, thanks for your question. You can fly into Nelson airport, then drive from there (1 hour 45 min drive), or you can drive directly from Christchurch. The most direct route is north to Amberly and through the Lewis Pass to Murchison. Head towards Nelson and watch for the turnoff to Motueka where you can join Highway 60 to Golden Bay. You should allow 7 hours driving time. An alternative route is to travel up the east coast to Kaikora and on to Blenheim. From here you head west to Nelson, Motueka and over the Takaka Hill to Golden Bay.
