Our holiday cottages are situated around sunny courtyards close to the Burn. Look out for herons, kingfishers or eels, or just sit and enjoy the water rippling past. Granary Cottage is ideal for families; the others are perfect for couples. All have been sensitively converted from traditional stone farm buildings and are comfortably furnished with all the facilities of a modern home. We have a games room with table tennis and pool, and books, games to borrow.Bed linen, towels and tea towels are all supplied and beds are made up for your arrival. We normally use duvets, but sheets and blankets can be substituted on request. Cots and high chairs are all available if we are notified in advance, and a single folding bed can be provided. Another fabulous week in Heron Cottage. Cottage has had some changes which has made it even more comfortable, homely and a delightful place to stay. The owners obviously care about their guests comfort and ensure they have everything they need.

We have just spent a week in Owl Cottage - a comfortable, well equipped property in a lovely location with the added bonus of a farm cafe! In the middle of a pandemic, a self catering, staycation in a rural area seemed a good idea, and we could not have chosen a better venue. On arrival we had a welcome cuppa with toasted crumpets in the farm cafe and on departure treated ourselves to the magnificent full breakfast. Super quality food with the joy of 'real' toast. Thick slices of freshly cut bread perfectly toasted and warm! Even first class hotels let themselves down serving toasted cheap sliced bread long before the breakfast arrives. The service was friendly and all precautions had been taken - face masks, well spaced tables and plenty of hand cleaning facilities. Well done Bradley Burn!! Add to this very reasonable prices for the food and the cottage itself and we couldn't have chosen better.

Lovely cottage, very peaceful with a stream just outside. Cottages are in close proximity to each other, but being in the front one - Heron, we didn’t notice our neighbours much. The cottage is lovely and bright and airy, a few minor dusty areas and the shower leaked as the screen isn’t great. But it still gets 4 stars for the location and the cottage being very comfy. Would like a different duvet though as it doesn’t fit the cover so I ended up with cover without quilt on in my side of the bed. Just a standard double too, personally I’d have preferred a king size, but it was comfy. Heating worked well as did the heated towel rail and fire in the living room.

My partner and i wanted a last minute getaway with our puppy back in August and found this place perfect....
The cottage was clean and tidy and had everything you would need particularly in the kitchen - It was also so nice to have a little welcome pack when we arrived.
There is plenty of nice walks on and around the farm as well as the cottage being a great location if you want to go further afield

Fabulous week in Heron Cottage. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well heated and very well equipped. Total relaxation with the added benefits of the cafe for delicious homemade cakes etc and the directed farm trails for walks. Will defiantly be back.

First the accommodation: We stayed for five nights in 'Stables 2'. The cottage is delightful with a comfortable, spacious lounge, shower room, kitchen and bedroom. Everything was well presented, clean and welcoming - complementary fruit scones, cheese scones, jam and butter!
The location is very peaceful and the views outstanding. There's no mobile reception but there is a free wifi hotspot in the cafe/shop on site. The fact that I couldn't use my phone is relevant to the part about . . . Lynne, my saviour.
At 9:30am on the first day of what was intended to be a five day walking holiday for me and a five day horsey course (at a nearby equestrian centre) for my wife I was waiting at red traffic lights on the main road to Wolsingham. A young man didn't stop for the lights. Our car was written off, I was left trapped inside until two people managed to force the drivers door open. A very nice policeman eventually gave me a lift back to the holiday cottage.
I went into the cafe to ask for coffee and help since I couldn't use my mobile and had no transport!. The staff couldn't have been more helpful (and the coffee was good as well). I was whisked upstairs to the office and introduced to Lynne. She let me use the landline (for around 3 hours in total) and each time the person I was talking to (insurance, legal, car replacement) asked for contact details, Lynne took over the phone and gave landline and out of hours mobile numbers. The car replacement company needed forms signing - Lynne had them emailed to her, printed them out, came to find me to get them signed (I was having and excellent all day breakfast in the cafe), scanned them and sent them back. She came to find me later in the cottage to tell me the replacement tow car would be delivered early the next morning. What was a traumatic day was made far, far less traumatic by the sympathy and support I received from all of the staff, and especially Lynne. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The cafe/shop has a great selection of food and beers in the shop. The food in the cafe is home made and excellent value and there is a comprehensive choice. They also do take outs as well. The WiFi hotspot was useful for researching my new car! Although I couldn't go on the walks I'd planned (aches and pains!) the cottage and environs were very soothing. I'm really looking forward to returning and exploring the area.

A excellent, well equipped, very comfortable, beautiful cottage with a very cosy feel. A group of us stayed in the Granary cottage which had such comfy beds that it was hard to pull yourself out of on a morning but we’d booked to go into the farm shop for breakfast, which was delicious, all local produce. The shop itself was a little treasure of lovely treats for everyone. Didn’t matter where you looked, the scenery was beautiful. Can’t praise this place enough. Would love to go back in a heartbeat ❤️

We stayed in Harvest Cottage for four nights with our two young boys. The cottage was clean and modern and opposite a lovely little stream with parking outside and a games room for the kids. There were delicious scones, jam and cream left for us on our arrival which were a lovely surprise. The owners are incredibly helpful and more than accommodating when we asked for an additional pillow for our son. The bed was comfy and nice large towels provided. There is wifi at the property and parking outside. You can wander around the working farm and go and see the cows and walk across the fields of sheep which the children loved. Very happy and already booked Granary Cottage to stay again with friends next year.
Lots to do in the area as well and the cafe is great.

This was our fifth visit staying in Harvest Cottage and as always spotlessly clean. This time we came as a family group the rest of family staying in Granary Cottage. They were impressed with the decor, the cleanliness, and comfortable beds everything you would need for a enjoyable stay. Lynne was her usual friendly helpful self. Farm shop and Cafe well stocked. a good base for visiting the area.
