What a lovely 2x nights we spent at the bayview guest house. Barbara and marty were fabulous hosts. On our first night we were even treated to listening to there young boys play the accordion for us at our request. This was a brilliant addition to our stay. We felt very welcomed in our stay and nothing was a bother for barbara and marty. We cannot thank them enough! would recommend this lovely place for anyone considering going to Barra. We have previously stayed in both hotels and this was by far the best experience we had. Thanks again!! xx

Very friendly welcome Stayed in a very comfortable cabin built beside the guest house. The bedroom space is a bit tight but my goodness you wouldn't swap for anything when you see the beat lounge with sofa & views looking out over the water towards Castle Bay. We were there during a storm & just sitting there watching the changing landscape as the rain swept through And get this. Complementary tot of whiskey on the side A very special stay

The view at breakfast table was great during the good preordered cooked breakfast. The hostess and host were very friendly and helpful. Because we arrived late and had not made a reservation for dinner, the hostess helped us with that. The room was neat and clean, bed slept great. It was a nice walk to the village. The beaches a short ride to the south are stunning.

A fantastic welcome from Martin and Barbara and fabulous accommodation. Rooms have everything you need, a fabulous breakfast selection and hosts that can’t do enough for you. A great selection of literature on Barra in the lovely residents lounge with a fabulous view. My 11 year old son and I are just back after 2 nights staying and would stay here again.

What a fantastic place to stay! Both Barbara and Martin were very friendly, attentive, warm hearted and welcoming hosts, that would always stop for a chat or offer advice about the island. Our room was extremely clean, fantastic decor, lovely finishing touches, we had a really comfy bed, and selection of teas were available. Lots on offer for breakfast. Martin cooked us an amazing breakfasts each morning which was presented very well. Great views in dining room across to Castlebay. We would highly recommend this place and would love to revisit another time. Regards Charltons’s

Spent two nights here in August. Barbara gave us a great welcome and was very helpful. We had the family room which was very clean with all the usual amenities; tea/coffee and toiletries. Even gave us a nip of whiskey, which was a nice touch. Explained about removing shoes and using slippers which she provided. Had no problem with this as we do this in our house too. Martin provided a fantastic Scottish breakfast with great views of the bay. We had a great weekend of Kayaking, e-biking and walking to the Heaval. Well recommend the coffee shop on Vatersay for the cakes. Would happily return as we had a great weekend and Barbara and Martin were great hosts.

Immaculate accommodation with fantastic views and extremely welcoming hosts. Fantastic place to base yourself to explore Barra and Vatersay. Self-catering cabin had everything we could need for our stay, as well as some luxury extras which were a lovely touch.

We had a very warm welcome, uncomplicated check-in and were given a lovely room with a view of the bay. The house is ideally situated between Vatersay and the village and close to the through road to explore the island. The tastefully decorated room leaves nothing to be desired and the view makes for an unforgettable experience. The breakfast was fine and Barbara and Martin are two warm and unassuming hosts. We will certainly return to this address on our next visit to Barra.

The Bayview is a beautiful place with a beautiful view. Martin was an extreme gracious and accommodating host. He helped us get dinner reservations and with travel issues as our plans had to change. The breakfast he made was beyond what I had envisioned- truly delicious. I was traveling with my siblings and in-laws and all of us agree that we would definitely stay there again if we were to return to Barra. I highly recommend this place to all.

We spent 2 nights here and enjoyed every second. Martin and Barbara a great hosts and you feel welcomed the minute you enter the door. The rooms are really nice, I liked the wooden floor and all the little details. you can tell that the place has been renovated with a lot of love and creativity.
