We arrived tired and travel-worn after a long drive in the blazing sun and it was wonderful to find a quiet, cool retreat at the end. The hostess greeted us on our arrival and showed us our room, which although fairly small, was clean and quiet and had the advantage of a wonderfully large bathroom. Everything was spotless and decorated in the local style, which added to the general pleasant ambiance. We chose to eat at the hotel on the two evenings we were there, and were extremely pleased to have done so, as the dining room, the quality of food and the excellent service made for a very pleasant evening and a calm end to a busy day.

Trigance was an excellent choice as a base to explore the surrounding countryside, as it was about half way between the two main villages of the area, with the road along the river between.
The hotel was easy to find and the parking more than adequate. There was a lovely terrace where we had breakfast on our first morning and a pool which we didn't unfortunately have time to try.

We had demi-pension and both breakfast and dinner were very good, so this was a good choice.

All in all, a very pleasant experience and we would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This little hotel (only 12 rooms) is very quiet en peaceful.
The rooms are small but very clean. It is best to book a room on the south side, ( rooms1-6 swimmingpool). On the north side you have no view at all (rock).
The breakfast is very tasteful and the diner is gastronomic. The staff is helpful en friendly.
At the reception you can get all the information you want about the wonderful nature of the
Verdon.
It is about 2 houres drive to the Cote-Azur.

This is a good comfortable hotel close to the Gorges du Verdon. It is also well priced and it has a swimming pool. The manager (owner?) is very helpful and she has good advice on the best things to do and the best routes to visit in the area. The wifi reception is poor but this is probably more to do with the hotel's rural location. Recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have extended our stay. We really enjoyed the views from our patio and the pool area. Cecile the owner was a wonderful host and gave us recommendations for food and made reservations for us. The breakfast had a big variety of food and drinks too which filled us up for our days of activities and swimming. Would highly recommend this lovely hotel, we will come back!

Spent one night on way to les Gorges du Verdon, price was good and hotel is very well presented. There is a small pool, room options with balcony or garden (recommend these) and a very good breakfast. The owner is helpful, welcoming and always smiling. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stay here, you will love it. The staff are fantastic, the location is beautiful, and the hotel without being luxurious is very comfortable. We wanted to walk, and the manager really went out of her way to find routes to suit us, got up early to make breakfast for us so we could get away in good time. Terrific service.

We only stayed one night at this hotel, and found it to be in a great location for exploring the Gorges Du Verdon. Trigance is a small, quiet, quaint village just off the main, crowded tourist track. This hotel has a lovely view over the surrounding hillsides and valley below. The pool and outside seating area is quiet nice and the dinner was just OK. As for every place in France, it is much better and cheaper to visit the local shops for a croissant and coffee than to pay for breakfast (of just that) in any hotel.

Our room was tiny but clean, and the shower was terrific. . . very modern, with all kinds of fun water streams. The bed was comfortable enough, but our window looked out onto the back hillside. Much better to pay a little extra for a view of the pool. . . and perhaps a larger room. Still, the price was right at only 77 Euros.

The Hotel has a stunning outlook over the surrounding countryside, letting nature speak for itself. We received a very warm welcome from the owner & her son. The reception area is next to the kitchen & the smell of the evenings meal was mouthwatering! The room is quite small & a little passé, but comfy & exceptionally clean. We had a room with a balcony on the poolside, enabling us to enjoy the view from the room & balcony. The pool is perfect to cool off in & the village & chateau are only a couple of minutes walk away. Dinner was excellent french country style cuisine served outside on the terrace , entree of fish, lamb wrapped in filo main & a fruit based dessert. Lots of herbs, lots of flavour. Breakfast also good with scrambled eggs & excellent local cheese. Highly recommended if you are in the area👍

The hotel has a quiet location with stunning views. The bedrooms are a little small and lack cupboard space. The beds are large and comfortable. The dining room and reception area are spacious with high ceilings. The hotel is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. There is a delightful outside terrace. The swimming pool is well maintained. The lady proprietor is experienced and friendly.

Sometimes in life you experience a disconnect in communications with certain people. This was the case with the good lady who I assume is the Owner/Manager of Le Vieil Amandier. As with Basil, she was an assertive sort who was right even if verging on being wrong. Customer satisfaction is not a priority! Having specifically asked for a nice view we were allocated a room on the north side of the property which i) had a wall oppressively close to the window and ii) of a size (the room not the window) that was... difficult.
More positively the location of the property is excellent for seeing the Verdon Gorge. And the food, both dinner and breakfast, very good.
An experience that will not be forgotten. Thank you!
