A warm welcome to a B&B set in stunning surroundings. A wonderful dinner, followed the best of French breakfasts. Madame la Patronne is the most welcoming and friendly host. Our suite was quiet well furnished and extremely comfortable. We shall be looking for an excuse to visit this little known part of France again to take advantage of La Domaine de...

‘Absolutely charming remodeled farmhouse on stunning property. The welcome by the owner Benedicte was very pleasant and she is fluent in English, has an amazing sense of humor, and gave us much history about the surrounding area. Breakfast was delicious and walking the grounds under the watchful eyes of the peacocks was relaxing and refreshing after a long drive. If...

A superb place to stay. Spacious rooms and large garden area made this a perfect pet-friendly place to stop. As well as the Chambre D'Hotes there is also the option of Self-catering Gite accommodation if preferred for a longer stay Valentine, Benedicte's daughter, looked after us very well. We stayed only three nights on our way to the South of...

An ideal country style, typically french hotel . The garden was delightful, Benedicte was the perfect hostess and the nearby town of Briare on the Loire and crisscrossed by canals was very pretty , with a good choice of places to dine. We liked it so much that we stayed an additional night.

We spent a lovely couple of days at this charming Chambre D'Hotes. Our host Benedicte was very welcoming and the rooms were charming. Breakfast was ample and made better by sharing with the peacocks. Overall a delightful place to stay and I would highly recommend this Chambre D'Hotes to others.

We had a short and yet a very lovely and welcoming stay at Domaine de La Thiau. Benedicte, the host, was cordial, well-informed about the area and very cordial. The rooms were clean, functional and nicely designed and the garden was breath taking. The outside of the place is a real heaven. The surrounding town is very beautiful - don't...

We only stayed a couple of nights but it was wonderful. The location is perfect for exploring the Loire valley - or for running early morning or evening - and the accommodation was just lovely. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A modest distance to the south east of Orleans and to the north of Sancerre and the Burgundy (Pouilly, Saint-Fargeau), at the eastern end of the Valley of the Kings, at only 150 km south of Paris (only 1 hour from Fontainebleau), on the banks of the river Loire between Gien (bone china factory) and Briare (canal bridge), 2 rooms, 2 suites (B&B) and 2 gites (self-catering rentals) await you. The separate guest house, nestled among centuries-old trees, is surrounded by a pleasant park running down to the Loire. Built in the 18th century and entirely renovated in 2012, the wonderful old "Mansart" style manor house stands very close to our home. Independant car park and entrances allow you complete freedom. Our guests are always welcome to enjoy the 7 acres of park with centuries-old trees and flowers, deckchairs, tables, outdoor games for children, tennis and table-tennis. The Loire river can be reached by a private path (300 metres), which is a good starting place for walks or bike-rides. Baby-sitting, bikes renting, animals welcome under restrictions. Non-smoking house. ... more   less
