Stonehouse Farm has been in the owners family for 6 generations and is surrounded with mature landscaped gardens set in the idyllic rolling Cheshire countryside and sits immediately upon the Sandstone Trail. The former outbuildings have been expertly converted into a purpose built guest wing which has its own private entrance. The wing comprises of 3 double bedrooms, 1 ensuite and 2 with shared bathroom. 2 Of the rooms can be adapted for family accomodation, a dining room and a guest lounge with french doors leading onto a courtyard. Stonehouse stands in its own grounds of approximately 18 acres. Doing our bit for the enviroment we have solar PV for electricity as well as solar hot water. Stonehouse is about 4 miles from Frodsham, 10 miles from Chester and 1 mile from Mouldsworth Railway staion which has train links into Chester and Manchester.

Stonehouse Farm is a beautiful country retreat perfect for a week in peace and tranquillity, but close enough to Chester and Liverpool for a day trip.

Whendie & Stephen are the best hosts we have ever had with overwhelming generosity and the ability to make you feel comfortable and part of the family as soon as you walk in.

They have a cafe that pumps out the usual wonderful English food and drinks including bacon rolls, milkshakes, cups of coffee and tea and much more. You can be sure you will never go hungry at this home. Out the front of the house is a beautiful area to sit and relax in the sunshine and breath in the fresh country air.

The rooms are spacious and well decorated, with windows that open (an important detail if you like fresh air when you sleep), heating for those chilly evenings and loads of pumping hot water for numerous showers/baths. The beds are so comfy you will find yourself unintentionally sleeping in, waking to the sound of birds in the garden.

Do not hesitate to stay at Stonehouse Farm, you will not regret it and have the most amazing, relaxing time ever, and you won't want to leave. Thank you for having us Whendie & Stephen, we look forward to our next stay in the summer.

Hi Fingalxxx and Joe It was an absolute pleasure having you stay with us both here at Stonehouse Farm. So pleased you found the food enjoyable. I do tend to give rather big portions. I must admit I love to see an empty plate. I have to agree that it is a quiet environment here but feel privileged to be able to look after all our guests hoping they sleep well and enjoy their time with us. With regards to the outside area we do try and give value for money to our walkers/cyclists who stop off for a drink and a snack especially my famous fruit scones. Looking forward to seeing you both next year. Stay safe Whendie and Steve x

This is an excellent bed and breakfast stay. The rooms are very pleasant and well appointed. Everything you might need is provided including hair-drier, shampoo, etc. There is plenty of cupboard space. There are only 3 rooms with one being en-suite. There is a comfortable lounge downstairs with TV and games. Wifi is freely available. The location is beautiful in the middle of rolling countryside and there are plentiful walks in the vicinity. Whendie and Steve are excellent hosts and the food is very tasty. It is homemade and you need to come hungry as helpings are large. It is a peaceful and refreshing place to stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Hello. Thank You so very much for you’re review of Stonehouse Farm. It really does mean a great deal to Us as we really enjoy looking after people especially when it comes to feeding our guests. We would rather you be over full than being hungry. Glad you enjoyed the lounge so you could relax and unwind. We look forward to welcoming you back if you are ever in Cheshire. Thank you Whendie and Steve .

I was running in the nearby Sandstone Trail Race and stayed at Stonehouse Farm, as it`s really close to the start.

I stay in rural b&B`s / pubs on a regular basis with my running and I can honestly say, that Stonehouse Farm is not only one of the nicest I`ve stayed at, but also the friendliest.

You`re made to feel like a friend rather than a guest.

My room was spotless and very comfortable, with everything I needed, like tea, coffee etc and even a complimentary box of Matchmakers ( nice touch )
A large modern bathroom, with loads of shower gels etc to choose from.

The location is just so peaceful and idyllic. Once it goes dark, it`s almost completely silent outside, not even the noise of passing cars. As a result I had the best nights sleep I`ve had in years, which put me in very good stead for my race.

I didn`t have breakfast, as I was away early, but if I stayed again, I`d definitely have it, as the selection looked fantastic.

I wouldn`t hesitate to go back, one of the nicest places I`ve ever stayed in, with lovely owners.

Stayed for 3 nights recently as part of a fortnight’s UK road trip. Such a lovely farm Bed and Breakfast. Whendie and Steve were wonderful hosts, very friendly, attentive and lovely to talk to. Really spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage available for belongings and large bathroom. Lovely breakfasts with plenty of choice of cereals and superb cooked items. We also had a great Roast Pork dinner on our first night which we thoroughly enjoyed with plenty of items included. Evening Meals are an option. Had chocolates left in our rooms on arrival which was a nice touch. We had exclusive use of the lounge area which was situated below our rooms at the rear of the building. Very quiet and peaceful location and situated halfway between A54 and A56. Extremely convenient for Chester including the Zoo and Liverpool. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of a late staycation in this area or any year. Definitely would go back there if we are ever in the area again which we hope to be at some point.

Hello there Thank You for leaving such a wonderful review on Stonehouse Farm. Steve and I are so pleased that you enjoyed you’re break with us and that you also enjoyed you’re meals. We do try and give value for money and always give decent portions as I would be so upset if anyone went away hungry. I lust admit that the Roast Pork is a firm favourite with our guests As for the little touches I just like to leave a little Thank You for choosing to stay with us. After chatting I think you enjoyed all you’re trips out especially Liverpool. We would love to see you all again in the future. Thank you once again x

ery lucky to find this amazing accommodation with the added bonus of it being on the doorstep of where I was working. Room was spotless as was everywhere else in the property. Bed was very comfortable with ample storage space for my needs. There were tea/coffee making facilities and bless the owners even a box of matchmakers !
Towels and soap all fresh and supplied.
On arrival I was greeted by Whendie and Steve who offered and made me a lovely cup of coffee with homemade scone, clotted cream and jam !
Shared bathroom was very clean with a nice powerful shower with instant hot water.
Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and served at the time I needed, which was very early but this was not a problem for the owners. It was a full English breakfast with 2 rounds of toast and as much tea as I required.
I would rate this accommodation a 10/10 and will be returning in the future. Outstanding value for money!!!
Thank you Whendie and Steve.

WOW. What a review …. Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We loved having you stay here and so pleased you enjoyed you’re stay. An absolute pleasure. I think I am now famous for baking scones. We always try to make our guests feel comfortable and by offering tea and scone on arrival is the least we can do. Hopefully we will see you on the near future. Thank you once again for such an amazing review. We love what we do x

Spacious and immaculate BnB. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms, peaceful lounge, huge and delicious breakfast and evening meal. The best bit was the welcome given by Whendie and Steve, they clearly wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and more, including gluten free breakfast and chocolates by the bed. A great start to our walking holiday.

Just stayed for two nights bed and breakfast. Whendi and Steve were magnificent hosts. Usually have some request but everything was just perfect. Clean, quiet, brilliant breakfast very relaxing stay. Whendi even gave my husband a lift back to the wedding venu to pick up our car. Can also just stop off for homemade cakes and hot drinks when walking the Sandstone trail. Would definitely stay again if attending any function in the area.

We stayed here last night as we attended the Keane concert at Delamere. Steve & Whendi gave the warmest of welcomes and made us feel at home upon arrival. We had the double ensuite which catered for our every need and was both cosy and peaceful. Whendi gave us a lift to the train station prior to the concert which was a lovely gesture and another example of how nothing is too much trouble to them. We both had the vegetarian breakfast which was lovely. Overall a really great stay with great people, very pleased that I found this gem of a B&B. Thanks again to Whendi & Steve for everything and we hope to stay again in the future.

Hi both Thank you for such a fantastic review . We are both so pleased that you found Stonehouse Farm welcoming. It means so much to us that we look after our guests in every way possible. It sounded as if you had a great time at the Keane concert. I think the train into Delamere to attend the concerts is ideal as it’s only down the round from us. Glad that you enjoyed you’re breakfast especially the vegetarian bacon. Hopefully see you again . Maybe next year for more concerts. Thanks Whendie and Steve xx

Called in here for refreshments after a couple of walks in the local area. The first time I had apple pie and ice cream, the second the victoria sponge. Both the pie and the sponge were of a very high quality - Great British Bake Off contestants beware!

Service was prompt and friendly and the prices extremely reasonable. The only potential snag is that it's cash payment only, so come prepared. Well worth extending your day trip in the area to call in here for a mid afternoon top up.

Stayed at Stonehouse Farm B&B for a night while doing the Sandstone Trail, and it was just what we needed. A very nice welcome from the owners, with a cup of tea and cake, and the room was very comfortable. We had a delicious full English Breakfast before starting the next leg of our walk, and the packed lunch was more than enough to keep us going.

We only have 3 bedrooms at Stonehouse Farm. Only one of the bedrooms has ensuite facilities so therefore the other 2 bedrooms share a family bathroom. Thank You x
