Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you want to come stay in a place where the electric strips the hot water barely works and the staff are rude this is the place for you. I tore a ligament in my leg and they just laughed and we’re so unhelpful. Don’t waste your time or money!!

This villa is the definition of a catfish. After a long trip from another island we wanted to relax in our villa and just sleep. Before we could get in our house we were helped by a very annoying and obnoxious woman who did not speak english. Not being able to communicate and the lack of respect from the staff made it a very cold welcome. (not looking at you when they talk to you, continuing to talk thai even when you explain that you do not understand them and some more annoying traits from the staff) Then the house, When we switched on the lights they were all flickering like some disco lights. We had a game console and wanted to connect this to one of the tvs in the house but none of them worked properly. Also, I understand that it is thailand and that you will find bugs wherever you are. However, we came back from a beachday and literally saw an army of bugs on the veranda. They blocked the door and we had to boil water and throw this all over the deck in order to just be able to walk in and out of the house. The things that I have named is just a small list of things that were wrong with this house. I could go on and on. I just want to warn the people who are looking to rent this house. A final thing that I want to say is that the person who we rented the house from. Andreas. A stone cold person who did not show any understanding. This man is just after money and doesn’t give a ratsass about the people who is scamming by letting them rent this overpriced crappy appartment.

There were many problems with the villa that should have been resolved and even avoided from arrival. Firstly the villa was not clean there were cobwebs everywhere the bathrooms were filthy and the kitchen was unusable. The kettle had ants inside, all cuboards were not clean and on numerous occasions we found cockroaches around and inside the villa. The air conditioning did not work in 2 of the rooms (one was without a remote and stuck on, and another did not work it would only blow warm air) which as you can imagine in hot climate is one of, if not the the most important aspect to a villa/hotel. I personally was unable too sleep during the whole stay as my aircon was not fixed after telling staff more than 3 times. I was told it would be fixed (which it wasnt) and not to worry and even made to feel by staff that in other words it wasnt such a big deal. The showers were very dirty and a few would only produce cold water. There were many insects, bugs, gekos etc which is as expected in foreign countries but no precautions were made to keep them out of the villa, as we arrived most windows were left wide open and nearly all guests experienced an uneasy feeling after finding lizards bugs etc in our rooms. The laundry service was very poor, my clothes were returned missing 3 tshirts, a pair of boxers and 2 pairs of socks. One of my shorts was ruined as the tag had somehow been melted and all items of clothes returned faded. On the first day we asked for 3 massages and staff explained they could arrange it for us and told us the price of 800bht per person but after we had our massages we were told a different price of 1000bht per person, which i found very unprofessional. We contacted the concierge on 3 occasions and the problems were not resolved. We were even told that we would be in some way compensated for the issues upon checkout yet this was not the case at all. I would never stay here again and i advise other people to stay away from this villa.

Im a frequent traveller, have never been to a worse hotel!!! Extremely dirty bedsheets, insects all over the room, nobody speaks a single word of english, construction work everywhere, air conditioner damaged, really disgusting smell from the bathroom drain, did not see any other guests etc etc etc. when i wanted to inform the “manager” about the really disgustingly dirty bedsheets he locked his door and tried to say in english/thai that he has to sleep now, absolute disaster! After several minutes with knocking at his door we got other bedsheets which also were really dirty! This is just a few of the things, really shocked about how disgusting the place is, we moved after one night

The resort itself was nice, mountain top with great views and a really peaceful place for sunrise. Rooms are clean and very spacious. Definitely need a motor bike to get up and down the mountain, very few cars are willing to go up/down the hill as it is quite steep. The reason for 2 stars is; 1. Staff did not speak English, so there was close to no communication (tours, checkout times, shuttles) 2. Restaurant closed early even though it was supposed to stay open till 9 PM 3. Breakfast was meant to be served at 8 AM, the staff arrived to start preparing at 8:30 AM 5. Food quality was OK, nothing special 6. General vibe of the resort was dead 7. Staff was snappy and rude. Pretty sure they are given no direction from management and extremely overworked. 8. Motorbike rentals are double the price from this resort. Stay somewhere else if you’re expecting a fun stay. However, if you’re happy with solo planning, this place is just fine.

CONS: We checked in late around 1:30am we got there and the reception was barely lit receptionist and all staff CANT speak english so had no idea how to respond to our questions. We got to our room and sure enough all bad reviews on this place are spot on! Construction or abandoned construction right beside our room where there supposed breakfast restaurant is. Breakfast is the same thing everyday (1x egg, 3x cold bacon, 2x piece of toast, 2x small chicken sausage, salad) you dont get a choice. Restaurant has unused tables set aside and toaster etc etc they do have barrista coffe but they can only make a single double shot coffee. The road to the resort is half way lit up and half way pitch black its probably 10-15 mins drive up from the main road. Ants and mosquitos in the room constantly, bedroom is decent but shower is open so the whole bathroom is soaked when you get done. The supposed free shuttle service only drops you off before the main road so youve to walk the rest of the way this is why we got a scooter as taxi cost about 400 - 500 baht to Chaweng Noi beach. PRO: good view (worth taking a photo, the rest wasnt except for the bar & decent clean pool I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO STAY HERE AS A COUPLE UNLESS YOURE A BACKPACKER TRYING SAVE MONEY COZ IT WAS CHEAP ENOUGH.

I went there with my family from Brazil . We got there and honestly when they opened the villa I couldn’t believe it . The smell of mould , the horrible smell from the bathroom plus spider and lizards everywhere . I had to go and call up the housekeeper to clean and after that I had to called again because they didn’t do the job properly. After that we went for a dinner we got back and our beds were full of bugs coming from the air conditioning so we have to move our mattress to my parents room . Felt like a terror movie . We booked 7 nights could stay for one , ebooking help us to get a refund . I will not recommend this hotel at all . The worst experience I had so far . Unbelievable. Nightmare .

I would not recommend staying here EVER and I would read my comments before making your decision. I left 4 days early because to me, it was that bad. Me and by boyfriend wanted to stay a week here to chill out as we are travelling Asia, thinking we had a toaster and microwave so we could eat cheaply... there was no microwave or toaster as per the description of all the rooms say! We did ask the reception guy but told us to use the restaurant. The waiter in the restaurant was poor at his job couldn’t be bothered to clean our plates when we were done for about 30 minutes, he preferred to sit on his phone, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was expensive and you’d expect a decent quality, but it wasnt. (I have uploaded a photo of a pizza that was about 280baht which was awful - I’ve had better for cheaper!) they tell you breakfast is included, the breakfast you only have 2 choices, 1)american breakfast or 2)rice and pork. This to me, was definitely not up to my standards of the money we paid for the hotel, all I could eat was eggs on toast (as I am vegetarian)well it tasted like stale bread. We also had an awful drainage smell in our bathroom (room 205) it was so strong we could barely use our bathroom without gagging! We did finally change rooms on the day before we decided To leave. Please be aware, (I wasn’t!!) this hotel has a few monkeys caged up behind a fence with a small hole where you can actually see him, if I had of known this, I would never of booked this hotel. The gibbon is constantly screaming out like a siren, it’s upsetting and disturbing to see and hear this, especially in the mornings. Please also note there is a lot of building work that has been started at that hotel, and looks like it has not been touched for a while and doesn’t look like it’s going to be. You get a nice view of the jungle and sea if you don’t look to your right hand side. This place had a very strange vibe which we didn’t like, the staff sat outside the front of the ‘reception’ which was intimidating and not approachable. To get up and down the mountain is 500baht each way also and is not possible to walk. Please check out the photos I have also uploaded. We left after the third day because we couldn’t stand it no longer and we couldn’t wait to hear back from booking.com on what to do any longer. If you want a nice hotel in Lamai try the Spa Garden we went there and it was amazing !!!!

The place is nice the rooms are as shown on the pictures but the rest is not so nice. The pool chairs were wet and dirty no pool towels. The chairs and the rest of the outside furniture is rotting. The legs are broken. Our bathroom smelled really bad! The view was nice if you look in the right direction and only in the right direction. There was a lot of garbage and some left over construction work with a toilet in the middle. The breakfast was horrible, it was a la carte and you could choose between traditional rice soup with meat, toast and english breakfast as we eat vegan there was only the toast left. No fruits, no juice, no muesli - nothing. The original restaurant is closed! So there is no nice food up there! There is a safe but its not attached to anything so if you lock your valuables in there they can be all taken away with the safe. Forget the Fitness and the sauna, its all old and not safe at all. No bathrobe in our room, dirty slippers from the guests before. You see all over all we had bad luck. They did some work on the day we left but I sill wouldn't recommend to stay there. Too much money for such a place and they pictures do not represent how it looks like in real. After all one good thing - the staff is very nice and helpful. Otherwise we would have left after a day.
