Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is a fantastic bargain if you want a decent hotel in the middle of chwaeng area. It is barely 2-3 min walk to the beach and is resonantly maintained.

The hotel has access from main chwaeng road as well as the lake side. Would highly recommend for people looking for hotels above a hostel or a backpacking category and yet below a fancy hotel price and category.

The staff though isn't very enterprising in terms of helping with any info on tours, bike renting or the full on party. They simply ask you to check from the tour operators outside of the hotel. Though it's not much of a problem as many tourist operators are based just outside and are more than eager to help.

Has many western eating joints like mc Donald's and subway next to the property for those wanting to be less adventurous with the local food.

Nora Lakeview is a very decent accommodation. It is located in Chaweng, where the main attractions are. A big plus is the newly built Central Festival. Pretty good beds, the hygiene of the bathroom is good as well.

If a resort in Samui isn't what you're looking for, then you should definitely consider this place. Bang in the centre of all the action at Chaweng Beach, Nora Lakeview Hotel is a great place to stay. The room I stayed in was very spacious, clean and comfortable - bathroom was very clean and had a tub. Wifi worked very well. The only reason to not stay at this place is if you're looking for a quiet place, and don't expect the girls at the reception to say or do much more than smile and greet you. But otherwise, great to get around Chaweng from here. The beach is a 2 minute walk - just cross the road and after passing Tropical Murphy, take a right and walk straight down. Excellent value for money. Shops, restaurants, tour operators, taxi & scooter rent, pharmacy, laundry, book store, Central Festival Mall, money exchange, beach all within 2 minutes walking distance. If I'd be on my own in Samui again or travelling with a friend and on a budget, I'd definitely stay here again.

As mentioned in few sites it's not a bar girl friendly hotel as per as charges are concerned, only one girl with you at the time of check-in will not be charged till check-out, but for every change you will be charged Joiner Fee at THB 500 per new joiner, even though you are only 2 persons at any point of time in room will not exempt you from Joiner Fee
For example, if single male person check-in and bring a girl she will be charged at THB 500, then next day if you change with another new girl again you have to pay THB 500, so on.... for every change be clear you have to cough THB 500

During 23-25 of July we stayed here. The room was uncomfortable. Awful noise until 3 am.
My french toilet water and my girlfriends designers t-shirt and lotion after sun were stolen.
We came back in the hotel to ask if someone found our clothes but unfortunately got the negative answer.
Don't belive positive reviews. Don' t stay here if you want your clothes not to be stolen!

First of all i have stayed here on many occasions,& only last month stayed for 10 days, the rooms are spacious clean & the staff always friendly. the location could not be better with the beach a short walk of about 7-8 minutes, i always went to the Kings gardens & got a beach seat for 60 baht.Breakfast at Tropical Murphys 250 baht, pool upstairs & live rugby & football at the weekends,a chemist, subways also just across the road & a supermarket next door. Yes its all there so whats the ..........but. Noise has been mentioned before from the Reggae club across the lake but thats never been a problem for me, either stay in the central rooms without the view or go for the view & put up with the noise until 2pm. No the problem is the noise from within the hotel & the inconsiderate guests coming in at all hours (French it has to be said) & the inability of the staff to deal with this problem which kept occuring. Walida the manageress take note, a lovely girl, but you need to sort it.Hopefully it was a 1 off as i want to come back as long as the internal noise is sorted.

Nora lakeview hotel is right on the main nightlife road in Koh Samui, Soi green mango. Although there is loud live music across the street that will keep you up until late in the night, still a very clean, nice place for a low price.

In May 2016 I spent 7 days in Koh Samui. Chose this hotel because of its location and great price. Service was great and room was clean daily. Wifi worked extremely well, only had to put the wifi code in one time. Elevator wasn't working when l arrived at the hotel but a very lovely female member staff grab one of my bags and carried it upstairs to my room. From this hotel your are within a 15 minute walk to shopping, food, beach and entertainment.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2014, whilst island hopping/backpacking. The hotel was perfect for our trip and budget, about £15 a night each. The location is excellent and the hotel doesn't boast about it enough. Situated on Chaweng Beach Road, the hotel has mcdonalds, subway, Starbucks, the pizza company next door aswell as an abundance of local restaurants, bars and shops. central Festival shopping centre is 5 minutes down the street. It is across the street from the beach, no direct pathway unless you walk further up the street, most times we just cut through one of the resorts opposite! The room was spacious and comfortable with daily maid service. We loved the bath as this was the first place in Thailand that we stayed in with one. Would definitely stay again.

Me and my girlfriend needed someone relatively close to the airport as we had a flight in the morning to Bangkok at 6am. This place was relatively nice looking and still central to the main part of Chaweng. When we arrived we were very happy with the room as it was clean and spacious with working ac, everything you need from a cheap hotel.

Unfortunately the windows are not double glazing and the noise is unbearable. We managed to somehow fall asleep despite the noise made from the bars on the river. However, at 2am live music woke us up. It was horrendous. If you're in to your Thai Pop and don't mind being woken up by it mid sleep then this is the place for you. We went down to the reception and asked the staff if it would be possible to change rooms to one that is not lake side. The lady at reception said no. I asked her to come up stairs and listen to the noise and she said "I know the noise, I have worked here for 4 years". We asked if we could have a refund as it was genuinely impossible to sleep to which she rudely replied no. The music stopped at 3am, by which time we had to leave for our flight.

If you are a family, or someone that likes a good, uninterrupted sleep then this is not the place to stay. Perhaps the rooms that are not lake side are not as noisy. Either way I wouldn't recommend. It's a shame as the room that you get is actually really nice but unfortunately the location and the unfriendliness/helpfulness is poor.
