We had the pleasure to stay in a Seafront Villa with pool during a week 2020.
The hotell is greatly located at the very and of the beach giving it a serene touch.
The staff are super friendly and nice and we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
The hotel could get a higher score if they worked a little bit more on maintenance. Some things are a bit dated and need som refreshing. A hotel next to the ocean is hard to keep up to date with salt, water, winds and sun wearing and tearing.

We had half board and ate dinner every day in the restaurant. Staff was great and took care of us. The food was most of the time really good but we suspect that one of the chefs (working 2 or 3 nights of our stay) was not as good as the others as dishes we repeated was very different on different evenings.

The beach access is in big need of fixing. You'll find it hard to access the beach as storms has taken som part of the sand away. The hotel should clean up the path to the beach so you do not risk getting cut on glass. This isnot the hotels grounds but still it is their guests safety.

All in all this is a great hotel that we do recommend.

The rooms of this small designer hotel are divided into 3 rows: the 100s, 200s and 300s.

If you're at all senstive to road noise, avoid the 300s. They are squarely along the road and get the least breeze. 200s in the middle and 100s are best becasue they face the water. High celings and lots of natural wood.

This is once luxury designer hotel that has devolved into something of a budget place, where rooms often start at $40/night. Rooms are large and comfortable, but not in perfect shape: water was hard to regulate, safe no longer shut, etc. However, if you want to enjoy the once grand rooms for a much lower price than they used to go for, this hotel is a good option.

Breakfast decent. Very nice view and access to excellent beach. Hotel doesn't always get as much breeze as the rest of the beach, due to its location in a narrow corner. Pool very pretty.

If you need a variety of restaurants, there many up the hill after the Sheraton. If you don't have transport, best perhaps to walk the beach and discreetly cut through the Sheraton, or another hotel. Hotel has a restaurant, but it's a bit pricier than it probably needs to be.

In sum, this hotel has its charm but might not be for everyone. Best to book a night, then extend if happy - or drop in and negotiate a rate.

My mother and I stayed at the Sarann and had a wonderful experience! We were very apprehensive arriving, having read some of the terrible reviews posted by others in the last few years, but our stay was amazing!
The infinity pool and view over Chaweng beach is spectacular, the jacuzzi suite Room was beautiful and bed incredibly comfy. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating and went out of their way to help improve our stay. The airport round trip makes things simple.

The location is quite far from other restaurants and shops, and so does require a taxi ride if you aren't hiring a vehicle, but this is not hard to do. We also booked many tours through the hotel e.g. Ang Thong, Koh Tao, elephant sanctuary, and these all pick up and drop off at the hotel, so the location was not an issue.

The local Thai food at the restaurant is delicious, but the western food is average, however we had a package deal that included all daily meals, daily cocktails and daily massages - and for this, the value and quality is well worth it!

Would highly recommend - thank you for a excellent experience.

Everything about our stay here has been amazing, pure relaxation!
The Saraan is in a lovely, peaceful location but close enough to Fisherman's Village, Chaweng Beach & Lamei Beach for some vibrancy.
All staff were impeccable 👌
Rooms were cleaned & restocked daily with unlimited supply to pool towels.
Mr Joe was always welcoming & went out of his way to speak to us.
We had a sea view room with a plunge pool - supetb!
Breakfast was adequate & restaurant food was lovely when we stayed at the hotel.
Sunbeds are limited poolside however this is understandable in order to maintain the ambience.
Our 5th time in Thailand but by far our best ❤️

The location is spot on at the end of the Chaweng bay, a lovely 2 mile walk along it before breakfast and it’s away from the centre, the beach does have
what looks like stray dogs but they do not bother you in the slightest, catching a bus/truck type transport if your going into town 300 Thai B each way for one person or a Whole family, we hired a car for 3 days which made life easy for exploring the island. Pool is lovely a infinity effect but it is difficult to get in and out if your not able bodied. Breakfast was sufficient and enough choice to cater for a wide spectrum of nationalities.
Staff are second to none and typically Thai friendliness.
The only negatives maybe, the Tv is temperamental, we could not get the room safe to work even with the help of the service if guy.. room toilets are not the best for flushing, and it’s a bit rough round the edges if you look hard enough but on saying that I would still come back here. We stayed here in August 2023.

We spent six nights at The Sarann and were very happy with our room, service and the very friendly staff. Yes, the rooms may need a little touching up but the value for money invested was there. The air-conditioning is excellent and your room cools down so you can relax out of the heat. Coffee, tea and water supplied every day. We had a pool room with a magnificent view of the bay. It was heaven in the pool at night with a couple of drinks looking out over the bay. The fishing boats were a sight to see. Our booking was with all meals inclusive. The menu was a little restrictive but certainly value for money. The chefs were only too happy to assist with our orders. I considered them my friends by the time we left. One night I had a beef dish that was too spicy for my tender stomach. The next night the chef cooked me another dish free-of-charge to make up for that. Thank you chef! On our last night the female chef offered to cook us a special meal. Unfortunately we had made other plans to go into town. Thank you and I hope I conveyed our appreciation to you for your offer. So, thank you to everyone there for a fantastic experience.

Was a bit uncertain about this hotel after reading the critical comments. Yet, it was surprisingly quite a good one. The pest control was nicely done, we dont see insects apart from mosquitoes (which is unavoidable).

The infinity pool is nice, the view is nice, even the breakfast and the restaurant is nice too.

It was just a bit weird that the bedroom and the washroom is divided into two compartments but are not separated, actually you can look into the bathroom from the room door.

You can see it is fairly old one but nicely maintained

Just finished our 6 night stay and overall a 5 out of 5. Everything is as we expected for our holiday and we WILL be coming back in the future.
Yeah, sure, it's not brand new and could do with some TLC, but it more than stood up to what we were looking for.

Mr Joe and the entire Staff were fantastic to deal with. Nothing was a problem and the delivered 100 %. Outgoing personalities and always ready to accommodate your requests ( Australian businesses could take a leaf out of these guys books).

For the price ($675 AD) for 6 nights, all meals, alcoholic beverage with lunch & dinner, airport transfers, plus a quiet location, try finding that in Australia!!!

No parties, No idiots, just a relaxing time.

Would I recommend these guys? Hell yeah!

Thankyou for an amazing stay Joe and co.

This an old hotel, call it resort if you will. Many of the facilities are decrepit and in urgent need of repairs. Old wooden structures are in bad shape, the wooden Venetian Blinds in the Villas have lost the coating and the mechanism does not work. You cannot open the venetian blinds. The air-condition system needs to be urgently overhauled. From our Villa we could see the ocean and we had our own swimming pool, however the swimming pool area is open and people walk around there. The hotel is not near the beach and is in a rocky part of the "beach". The very small gymnasium is in a poor state with some of the equipment either broken down or not working. The technician could not fix the equipment. The locks on the Villa Door are also in need of replacement, as you cannot open or close the door properly at times. Apart from the hotel itself, there is nothing around the area. You need a taxi or a car to get around. Interestingly, we were not supposed to throw the toilet paper in the bowl but instead discard it in the supplied bucket, rather disgusting I have to say, especially as a smelly sewer was in the middle of the walking path to the villa. Not all the rooms have ocean views. The "all inclusive" package is a disaster as there is a limited menu and you cannot change the dishes, which remained the same throughout our stay. Breakfast is also a joke as there is no variation and there is very limited choice in the "buffet", which remains the same throughout our stay. The "hot dishes" were often cold and you had a daily choice off such that you had to select on a piece of paper each day. Some days, if you are a vegetarian then bad luck. Will not recommend this hotel. Also do not come during October-November, there is incessant rain during these months.

This hotel punches way above its price. The hotel is in a great location with direct access to the beach, beautiful views over the stunning infinity pool, rooms are huge - a little tired but extremely good value. We would definitely stay again!
