Chaweng Blue Lagoon Hotel is a beachfront hotel nestled in a tropical garden between palm trees, lush bushes and flowers, and the beach. At our resort, we offer Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe Suites in our five 2-storey buildings. If you would like to spend your holiday in a more private way you can also book one of our Deluxe Villas right next to the beach or pool. Although being one of the smaller resorts on Chaweng Beach we have excellent staff who know how to make you feel comfortable from the very first minute to the very last. This is certainly one of the many reasons why we enjoy a long list of repeating guests throughout the year enjoying our family-style atmosphere.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel aircon does not work properly. The units don't blow very cold air as they are supposed to. I was relocated to another room but still not working cold enough. Also mosquitoes everywhere. Staff are friendly, swimming pool was good.

The management is really good and helpful, always willing to improve and accept feedback. Staff is generally helpful too. The rooms are good, with a balcony overlooking nice grounds, but the highlight is the pool. The beach area is good too. The restaurant does a good lunch and dinner, but they could improve the breakfast a bit, but everything else helps to overlook that small detail.

We tried this hotel for one night as a walk in and stayed longer. Very happy here, but it is a little tired and things could be done to freshen it up to make it great again. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. A turn down service in the evening with fresh fruit and cookies is provided, a nice touch. Breakfast was underwhelming. Pool was large and very close to beach. Pool towels were supplied and many sun lounges were available on the beach with plenty of shade. Pool filter was off at one stage so we stopped using the pool during that time as the water changed color. Whilst we enjoyed our time here i feel it has the potential to be so much more!

Very nice hotel. Stayed there twice on my trip to Thailand. Attentive staff, excellent location. Walking distance from the main strip but far enough away to relax. Beach and pool were especially great.

The Blue Lagoon Hotel is located directly at the beach with its own little strip and lots of sun beds inviting to soak up the Thai sun. The pool is massive and suitable for all kinds of traveller - solo, couples or families. The "Kantara" restaurant is beautifully located at the beach and serves a very good breakfast buffet with everything one needs to start the day off right. Despite its age and some signs of tear and wear, the management shows willingness and success in making the hotel and public areas look tidy, neat and clean. Lots of plants, palm trees and small decorations give the hotel a fantastic feeling of proper holidays in Thailand. The rooms come in a simple yet charming Thai style with a lot of wood and bamboo. The balcony invites to relax and read a book or simply wind down after a long day out exploring the island. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and superb water supply. Housekeeping services the room twice a day and leaves a culinary surprise every day. The infamous Chaweng Street and beach are right around the corner within about 10 minutes walking distance which is nice as it allows the hotel to be much quieter than other places a bit more down the beach. Overall, a fantastic stay in November 2018 (despite the weather). Great location also to the airport, fantastic local staff, memorable views of the sea and comfortable rooms. I will definitely go again on my next visit.

We stayed in this hotel last year and enjoyed it so thought we'd book again for this August. We booked with a major 'booking' company but once the non-refundable booking was made it turned out we were in an annex and not the main hotel. This annex is actually being sold as a separate hotel 'The Teak Hotel' on other websites so I don't know why it was being sold on the same booking page as the Chaweng Blue Lagoon. Neither the 'booking' company or the hotel would help us to sort out the problem fairly other than quoting a very high price to change hotels so we decided to try staying the Teak Hotel. When we arrived at the Teak Hotel it was still under construction, there were almost no other guests and no staff during the evening/night, it was not what we expected at all so we cut our stay short and moved elsewhere.

Response from gmbluelagoon, Manager at Chaweng Blue Lagoon Hotel
Responded 13 Oct 2018
Hello rmckenna76, I am sorry to hear about your experience you had with us and i would have felt the same way if this were to happen to me. You are right, our sister hotel is being advertised on the same page and this might have been the cause of the confusion. Normally we are known for caring for our guests and we regret that we missed the mark! If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us on Facebook. We look forward to speaking with you and working towards earning back your trust! Warm regards from Koh Samui, Chris Front Office Team

The pool was pretty amazing and the place was quiet! There was no POOL BAR open ever! There was Skelton staff around! The house cleaner was very friendly she worked so hard (hence why the rooms weren’t cleaned until late)! The breakfast was terrible, the restaurant staff was extremely rude especially the female manager staff from the restaurant! Never smiled or made you feel welcome! The males were always so friendly! We had paid for it but only ate twice and ended up finding a little place not far that we ate breakfast at everyday! (La Crossiant, highly recommend Joy is a friendly beautiful staff member) The rooms were older but were okay, our phone in the room didn’t work at all even after information reception daily didn’t work!! There was no hair dryer in the room as advertised! Our aircon leaked on our last 5 nights with lots of trips triips! This was not the house keepers fault again she was amazing to us!!! On checkout reception just smile ‘sorry’ after already being told, you actually got sick of saying something, however they were quick to charge us the 2 bottles of water and a lunch charge of amount of approx $60. I don’t expect anything for nothing, but I do expect I pay for the service advertised! The pool is the upsell for this place! It has so much potential with position, the beach front! It needs good management, more staff, a open pool bar, better breakfast with a friendly restaurant manager, (that also stopped us from eating dinner there) and some money to spend on the place to do up!!! Overall we wouldn’t stay there again, we looked at other places while we were there that seemed to offer what they said amount!
