Would defiantly recommend this hotel for couples and families alike. The location is 10/10! We stayed in one of the cottages which was only a 20 second stroll to the beach! The rooms it’s self where spacious with a super king bed and decent air conditioning. The rooms it’s self are a bit dated, but nothing major, the location and service of it’s staff defiantly makes amends. If you enjoy a quiet meal in the evening or a late night out, there’s loads of restaurants and bars a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We only had one brief issue with the toilets in our room, which was dealt with swiftly. The hotel provides large beach towels daily for all its customers for its pool or obviously the beach. On the beach you’ve got massage beds under the shade which I would highly recommend, an hour massage usually costs about 400 baht. Which works out about £12 😬. Fishing and snorkelling boats are dotted along the beach front and the usual looky looky tours are about, but don’t pester too much.

Over all I would give the following;

• Location 10/10
• Service 9/10
• Room Quality 7/10
• Price 8/10

Hotel has a lovely position on the beach although I felt that the beach in front of hotel could have been kept much more tidy by the hotel itself. Decent breakfast although the coffee always seemed luke warm. Rooms were pretty average and in need of updating especially the bathrooms.i would suggest the hotel could do a little more 're offer drinks to guests on the beach and try to push evening meals a little more ( just a thought) very friendly staff.

Choose Iyara again on our stay to koh samui because I couldnt find anywhere better on price and location.
Great location at the top of beach road. 5 to 10 min walk from the bulk of chawengs restaurants and bars but far enough away that it is quite at night. You can stroll back along the beach at night from some of the bars along there and walk straight into the hotel.
The staff are fantastic. All friendly and will help however they can.
We had a deluxe room this time that opened up onto the pool area and looked over the sea, with our own sun lounges at the front.
Would highly recommend.

We stayed here last week and it was our 4th time here. We always loved this hotel but sadly it has been neglected with no maintenance for a long time. The rooms are all in need of update and the air con is so old and noisy with no remote control. Terrible lack of sun beds and umbrellas and no chance of getting one after 8.30am as they all have towels put on by the guests who obviously get up early to save their favourite place on the beach! Two days we weren’t left any water, another day no teabags, the safe stopped working 3 times. No,Iyara we won’t be back

Today we and our friends we literally kicked away from an area by a new hotel manager - Mr. Che Ka Vi Panet as for being too noisy. He just came today and wanted to show off. It's a shame, as we thought of spending in this hotel next winter holidays. We were a group of 3 families and 6 kids. Every day we were buying in the hotel restaurants a lot of food and drinks and, seems to be, it's not enough. It's not a kids friendly hotel, mostly occupied by elder people, so I don't recommend nobody staying there. Instead, stay in Natien Resort, very friendly stuff and delicious breakfast.

Iyara is spectacular, on the beach, walking distance from the centre of town, good food and amazing staff. What you see is what you get and it is worth it, our stay was to short ... Tranquil, but close enough to the action on offer in Koh Samui, trust me you will not regret your stay at Iyara.

Arrived at the Iyara after escaping one of Ko Samui's nightmare hotels. Received a warm welcome from the staff and were escorted to the outdoor lobby. Everthing surrounds the beatiful pool and, of course, the magnificent beach. The Iyara isn't so far south that you are in the middle of the noise, but it is very close - definintely walkable. The rooms were beautiful and simple, the decor consisted of white walls and linens and fine dark woods. Huge window overlooking the beach. In all was a great place and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Samui.

We had a great time at the Iyara. We were staying at the Amari down the street which had excellent service, beautiful grounds and great restaurants. But the price was high. So we found the Iyara which at the time was brand new. We moved there for 3 nights and found them very accommodating. The room was wonderful, even though we chose not to have an ocean view. The front desk was very nice and helpful, plus the people in the restaurant were top notch. And although it was not as 'polished' as the Amari, certainly the rooms were far superior and being a little smaller place it was more pleasant. The location was great - in that area of Cheweng beach it is not that crowded and loud, plus the ugly smells typical of Thailand are at a minimum. The breakfast buffet was very good, service was excellent in general and location was great. Overall, we thought it was wonderful and would recommend it.

This hotel may have many good qualities, which I would certainly praise, if it wasn’t for fact that my girlfriend and I were robbed during our sleep. I normally put on the door chain and place a rolled carpet at the door before going to sleep. The carpet is to keep the hallway light and noise from disturbing my sleep and place the “do not disturb” sign at the door. Unfortunate, on that particular night I forgot the door chain. So how, the thief(s) knew that and found a way to open the door without leaving a trace of forced entry. The only way I knew that someone came into the room was my rolled carpet. In the morning, it laid away from the door. Because of all this fact, the police suspected an insider job. Fortunately, they didn’t do any harm to the both of us and I had most of my precious belonging in the room safe. Needless to say that it was my last night in this hotel and my 2nd last day on Koh Samui, because I left on the next possible flight. For those of you who are planning to stay there, I would like to recommend this: use the door chain, keep all precious belongings in the safe and don’t make people think you have something worth taking.

Nothing like it's pictures or description. Very old building that's had no maintenance .dirty walls with paint peeling ,shower cubicles dirty with worn damaged shower heads and threadbare towels.Unable to fully open door due to swelling and warping.Bedsheets not fitting properly.overrun with mosquitoes despite rigorous fogging .Service poor, breakfast bar ran out of various items whilst staff stood around .Boardwalk near sand in disrepair and dangerous and loose boards round swimming pool.Staff poorly trained

Hi. There are fruits (pineapples, melons and so on). Then there is a salad bar and cereals with yogurts. They make you your eggs fresh as omelette, scrambled, and other versions. And then the main section is western food like croissants, doughnuts, different cakes, sausages, bacon etc. Hope I could help you.

There is street parking and a very small space at the front of the hotel. We did have a car while here so don’t really know how it all works.
