I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2018. The room and toilet was clean and had access to a balcany which has an excellent view over Bayerisch Eisenstein and into Czech republic. The breakfast was very good.

We were just coming from a week in Hungary and so happy to spend the evening finally speaking English with Jerry & Claire. The area is so beautiful and they explained all the sights and wildlife in the surrounding mountains. The room was great, good bed, breakfast was plentiful & fresh. The area is perfect for hiking, sightseeing, and just relaxing. We had planned two nights as a breather rest stop, in our 2 months in Europe but regretfully cancelled our second night due to a commitment in Nurnberg. We will definitely come back for multiple nights next trip.

We arrived as a family of four (two adults, two teens) in the middle of a road trip through Germany. Although we'd reserved a room for four, Claire and Jerry were generous enough to give us the option of two doubles for the same price, instead. Between the delicious snacks, the warm fire, the lovely town, and helpful guidance on walks in the area (including in advance of our trip since they'd noticed a note in my booking that we were planning to hike). I only regret that we weren't able to spend another couple of days exploring.

We stayed for 1 night on our way to Prague on the train. The owners are an English couple, they were very welcoming and helpful and even gave us a lift to the station. The room was lovely and spacious and everything looked spotless. The bathroom was a bit "tired" but that is the only thing that stops me from giving it the full 5 starts. They provide a discount card for facilities in the village although we could not take advantage of it as we only had a few hours there. As an aside, Bayerisch is in an excellent position to travel from anywhere in Bavaria (where there are excellent offers for cheap train tickets - we paid Eur 27 for 2 people to travel from Oberammergaue) and the train station in the village is across the border with the Czech Republic so we then caught an even cheaper train (about £7 each) to Prague.

The hosts, Jerry and Claire are exceptionally helpful, generous, knowledgeable and friendly - probably one of the most hospitable hosts we have ever come across. G. am Berg is located in a charming, picturesque neighbourly area; walking distance away from everything, including the German-Czech border. Parking is right at the doorstep. Rooms have been done up in a cosy and tasteful manner, which obviously lack nothing. Our room had a balcony with great views. Breakfast was superb - ample and comprehensive as well. Despite us being the sole occupants, a full fledged (and enormous) breakfast was laid out every day. We got their unrequited help, in addition, in sorting out our camera memory issues, making the GPS behave and if that was not enough, Jerry dropped us in his car to the railway station when it we were getting late catching the next train. The hosts have a large collection of brochures/ maps/ tourism literature, etc. apart from their own encyclopaedic knowledge about the area. They would take pains and devote time to explain the local nuances, which enabled us to derive the maximum from tourism point of view. Also available in the lounge are menu cards of local restaurants, which, aided by the hosts' valuable advice would help you choose your the right destination for dinner. The Guti Guest card is another asset worthy of mention. This card, offered complimentary to each guest for the entire duration of stay, allows one to travel seamlessly in public transport across large parts of Bavarian area. In effect, all the travel within and well beyond the area is taken care of by this card. It also offers discounts to attractions (though we were well short of time to explore the discounted attractions). The friendliness exuded by Chaco, the CS was equally touching and all this made us feel like a family rather than outsiders. The stay undoubtedly offers a memorable experience, not to be missed. Complaints - none whatsoever. Regrets - One, our stay was too short to take in the superb hospitality on offer here (had we known beforehand ! ). Thanks really Claire and Jerry, we dream of coming back again.
