Just as good as everyone else says. We would however point out that the first rate supper is not until 2100 - quite normal for Spain, but on one's first night off the ferry it came as a bit of a shock - eat lunch late on the ferry before disembarking!

We found La Lobera on the internet, a good location on our trip from Santander to Malaga. The reviews looked good so we tried it. It was a delight! Friendly people , first name terms, good english. We had dinner , T bone steak, then a nice quiet room, breakfast in the morning - all excellent. Its a pity we...

We found this lovely place on trip advisor as we needed to stop about an hour in from Santander. Easy to find and situated in a lovely peaceful spot. The hosts Pilar and Rubén could not be more helpful. We had a lovely walk down to the lake before dinner. There was actually a choice - unusual for such a...

What wonderful hosts File and Ruben are . We planned to stay 1 night , however my motorcycle broke down and I was left stranded and my friends continued our tour. My hosts realised I was stressed at the situation and took me under there wing . I was treated as one of the family having a meal cooked in...

A very warm welcome from Pili who could not do enough for us after our late arrival. We were shown up to our delightful room before relaxing in the lounge to soothing music with a nice bottle of Ribera de Duero and some nibbles. Our breakfast the following morning was substantial and tasty. Our only complaint was that we found...

Located about 50 miles south of Santander we found this lovely small hotel. I've stayed there three times now. It's so nice to stay somewhere where the rooms are simply not just like every other hotel room you ever stayed in! Proper furniture and very comfortable beds. The owners are simply delightful and cooked us up some lovely evening meals,...

A really excellent posada. An old building renovated with love and with delightful bedrooms and dining area. Enormously helpful in getting our trip under way - nothing too much trouble. The food and wine were excellent; there was even a choice of main course - very unusual for a place of this size. If we were to return (and it...

Spent one night here, straight off the ferry at Santander and about an hour up the road. We only booked initially because they accepted our dog but as soon as we pulled into the driveway we knew this would be a special stay. Stunning and quiet location and the hotel was beautiful inside and out. The en suite rooms were...

Four of us touring the Picos de Europa on motorcycles stayed here for one night as our first stop from Santander. The hotel is charming and the staff are so friendly, Pilar especially, who had contacted me by email to ask if we would like dinner. Although she spoke very little English, we managed to communicate very well with my...

We spent three nights at this place, and were totally impressed. It really is as good as the advertising. Room super. Food great, both in quality and choice. What made it extra special was the staff. It was so important to them that we had a good time.
