The Roubine campsite is quite charming, carefully designed and full of little touches.
We stayed there for two weeks in high season and it was always clean and well maintained. The staff is available, smiling. The young woman at the grocery store always has a kind word, and the bread and croissants they serve are very fresh.
The pitches are spacious, well laid out and quite far from the restaurant and the playing fields, which is pleasant in the evening if you want to go to bed early.
The nights are calm there, there is no traffic. The only traffic we encountered were the canoes going down the river during the day.
What we particularly liked is that it is perfectly suited to families with young children.
The swimming pool and the small sandy beach are very accessible even to the little ones, there are two family showers where children can wash with a shower and a sink at their height.
And the entertainment, for its part, reflects the image of the place: welcoming, warm but never stuffy.
It is clear that in this small family campsite we are playing in the big leagues.

Property's Favourite Review
This campsite lives up to its claims. The pitches are large and clean, the communal areas clean and well cared for (though there could be a few more showers as we visited when the site was half empty and the showers were very busy. There are multiple activities to keep all the family occupied and despite a Countrywide drought there was plenty of water in the river. The staff very helpful and the food facilities good. A snack bar desire the large pool and a good restaurant with a very varied menu. Th alternative is an excellent restaurant a short walk away but the village of Vallon Pont d’Arc quite a long though pleasant walk for alternative eating. Gas BBQs were allowed (no charcoal or briquettes) near the tents but there is also a BBQ area provided near the pool. I wanted to make a particular mention of the Spa. Charina the beautician was excellent, in fact, more than excellent if that is possible. My daughter and I had both a massage and facial and they were just superb. I have had these treatments in many places around the World and can safely say these were probably the best I have had. I just hope that the Site owners are able to employ her again next year and I encourage everyone to consider a treatment. They are of varying lengths and prices so plenty of choice. She was also taking Yoga classes twice per week which we also tried and enjoyed very much. They were very gentle considering most of her customers have had very little experience. All in all this was a very enjoyable and restful holiday for us all.

Response from Stéphane et Mariska Moulin, Propriétaire at Camping Sandaya La Roubine
Responded 29 Sept 2022
Dear Jane, thank you so much for you very positive review of our camping! We are delighted that you enjoyed our facilities so much and will of course communicate your compliments to Charina (who has been working for us for several years now and we hope will be back next year!) and the restaurants' staff. If you allow us we just want to react on your remark about the showers: we are afraid you missed the main building which hosts about 20 more showers all very well equipped and many with hairdryers, washbasins and consetic mirrors.. our small sanitary buildings offering some extra showers a little more nearby the pitches! We suppose you used these rather than those in the main building. We hope to welcome you again if you decide to come back to the Ardèche! It was lovely having you as our guests. Best regards on behalf of the entire staff

We stayed (family of three) in the Taos mobile home which was modern, well equipped and clean. Lovely decking to enjoy a few drinks and a bbq. Each plot has a hammock, two sunbeds and a lovely hanging egg chair.
The campsite is on the river with a lovely beach where you can watch the kayaks going down the canoe slides. The campsite is so good for young children as its not too big and feels very safe. Our daughter is 14 but we still enjoyed the pool, pentanque and crazy golf. There are so many activities that can be booked with companies near by (kayaking/ canyoning/ electric cycle tours/ climbing). The kayaking was so fun we did the same 12km trip twice (includes 4 canoe slides and rapids).
The reception staff were very helpful and booked some of the activities for us. We also had 3 enjoyable nights in the restaurant. It's an easy walk into Vallon Pont D'Arc town so ideally located.
A very active and enjoyable holiday all round. We wished we had booked for two weeks! :)

The “La Roubine” campsite is a magnificent campsite, very well located, on the banks of the river and in a quiet area.
The pitches are spacious and everything is pleasant: the toilets are impeccably clean, maintenance is carried out with care, the swimming pool is partly shaded and the vegetation is magnificent.
A big thank you to the whole team who does their best to ensure that we can have a good holiday. The welcome and availability of those in charge, the involvement of the maintenance team, the smile of the grocery store saleswoman in the morning, the good humor of the entertainment team, the serenity shared by the teacher yoga, allow you to have a very pleasant and serene stay.

We came 1 day to join friends who stayed 1 week in this campsite.
My husband burned his feet in the second degree at the football stadium playing barefoot on the foam floor.
When we notified a supervisor, he called the director to inform him. Because we did not want this to happen to other people, he replied: we can not put posters everywhere.... very professional!!!!
Knowing that when the pharmacy saw us arrive, it said: say nothing, you come from the campsite la rouine! I have vacationers who come every day for the same problem.
Second point, it is forbidden to swim in shorts. But the lifeguard is in his surfer's jersey and those who animate the children put themselves in the pool with their clothes that drag the day in the campsite. Weird, regulations aren't for everyone. Do what I say but not what I do...
I am from the area and I will not recommend this campsite.

Camping La Roubine... we stayed here for 10 nights and had a wonderful holiday. Our children, aged almost 7 and 10, had a great time here. And the parents too.
The campsite has very extensive entertainment in store for the children (and parents). We did the following: archery, fishing, padel (with surfboard on the water), archeology and stargazing. These are all activities that are offered free of charge by the campsite and are professionally supervised. There is also a kids' club where children can do crafts/play games/...
The campsite is located next to the river where you can laze in the hammock, on the sun loungers or other seats.
What was still very good: the take away and the snack. They make burgers there, super fresh and very tasty. The pizzas were also great.
The restaurant was also good (although I preferred the tasty burgers ;-)).
The staff: from the first to the last we interacted with, were very friendly. These also deserve praise.
There is loads to do in the area. You won't be bored if you choose this campsite!
In short: recommended.

Very quiet campsite. Children have enjoyed here.
The beach for going into the river was very disappointing. Mini piece by the water to go in and where they can play. Very uneven to sit.
Dogs are welcome at the campsite but unfortunately there is a sign that they are not allowed on the beach. No other place for dogs provided to let them swim or sit together by the water. Very unfortunate.

Nice quiet campsite for young families and the elderly. Sanitary very neat. Animation tailored to small children. Give 1 star less as there is no decent beach where the children can in the sand and is very uneven. Dogs are allowed on the campsite but have nowhere decent in the water and no separate beach.

Hello,
Like everywhere in France swimming shorts are not allowed, only regular swimming trunks are accepted, but of course you can wear them when you swim in the river Ardeche!
Yours sincerely,
Cordialement
La Roubine
