We had a great stay at La Roubine. Camping pitches were a very generous size. The spaces facing the river are south facing, but there are lots of trees so shade can be found on hot days. Facilities were always clean, and there were plenty of toilets, showers and washing up sinks for everyone. We were 2 adults and 2 teens so didn't have a need for the children's activities, but what was on offer looked very good, and didn't in any way disturb other campers. Bands were booked to play at the restaurant on a couple of nights, but weren't a disturbance if we decided not to watch. We brought our own paddle board (though they're available to hire) and really enjoyed using it every day on the tranquil river. We saw so much wildlife, including kingfishers and a beaver. The managers and all staff on reception couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful, particularly with directing us to a little known swimming spot with refreshingly cold water during a heatwave! Thank you La Roubine, we look forward to returning!

Property's Favourite Review
This campsite lives up to its claims. The pitches are large and clean, the communal areas clean and well cared for (though there could be a few more showers as we visited when the site was half empty and the showers were very busy. There are multiple activities to keep all the family occupied and despite a Countrywide drought there was plenty of water in the river. The staff very helpful and the food facilities good. A snack bar desire the large pool and a good restaurant with a very varied menu. Th alternative is an excellent restaurant a short walk away but the village of Vallon Pont d’Arc quite a long though pleasant walk for alternative eating. Gas BBQs were allowed (no charcoal or briquettes) near the tents but there is also a BBQ area provided near the pool. I wanted to make a particular mention of the Spa. Charina the beautician was excellent, in fact, more than excellent if that is possible. My daughter and I had both a massage and facial and they were just superb. I have had these treatments in many places around the World and can safely say these were probably the best I have had. I just hope that the Site owners are able to employ her again next year and I encourage everyone to consider a treatment. They are of varying lengths and prices so plenty of choice. She was also taking Yoga classes twice per week which we also tried and enjoyed very much. They were very gentle considering most of her customers have had very little experience. All in all this was a very enjoyable and restful holiday for us all.

Dear Jane, thank you so much for you very positive review of our camping! We are delighted that you enjoyed our facilities so much and will of course communicate your compliments to Charina (who has been working for us for several years now and we hope will be back next year!) and the restaurants' staff. If you allow us we just want to react on your remark about the showers: we are afraid you missed the main building which hosts about 20 more showers all very well equipped and many with hairdryers, washbasins and consetic mirrors.. our small sanitary buildings offering some extra showers a little more nearby the pitches! We suppose you used these rather than those in the main building. We hope to welcome you again if you decide to come back to the Ardèche! It was lovely having you as our guests. Best regards on behalf of the entire staff

Overall a great campsite but I struggle to give it 5 balls for a couple of reasons . The pros to start - Big shady pitches for tents. Toilet blocks are clean and modern. They have a sink in the shower cubical and space to dress. Good games area. Free paddle board sessions. Overall a good on-site restaurant. Good beach. Quiet. Pool has a snack bar. Great for viewing canoeists tackling the slides. Can walk in to town . Cons - No water taps near pitches so you have to walk to the shower block . Washing up is a nightmare. The taps are motion sensor operated - laudable - but the duration of flow is far too short. Given that the sink is too small to put a washing up bowl in, it creates a big issue. The service at the snack bar by the pool is slow and it’s not that clean . Service at the restaurant was very slow one evening. Overall I would definitely recommend the site . People seem to go back year after year.

We wanted to say a great big thank you to Moriska and Stephane for their wonderful campsite. This was our 4 visit and each trip gets better. The facilities are clean and well looked after by the team that manage the cleaning and maintenance they do a fab job and are always cheery and ready with a smile and a 'hello' My boys love the activities which include the Tuesday night football tournament, ping pong and fishing with Eric... My boys, James and Oliver had a blast.... This year my husband Steve was unwell and the 'lovely' Moriska was so kind telephoning the local doctor and arranging an appointment for him, thank you x As a treat I had my first treatment in the spa and it was wonderful, thank you to Charina for making it so special, I will be back... As the only English family this year we are always made so welcome by everyone despite us not speaking very good French. We would highly recommend La Roubine to anyone who loves camping it is without a doubt the best campsite that we have stayed at. Thank you again La Roubine and we can't wait to return next year. With Very Best Wishes Kay, Steve, James & Oliver (the Dymond family

We stayed (family of three) in the Taos mobile home which was modern, well equipped and clean. Lovely decking to enjoy a few drinks and a bbq. Each plot has a hammock, two sunbeds and a lovely hanging egg chair. The campsite is on the river with a lovely beach where you can watch the kayaks going down the canoe slides. The campsite is so good for young children as its not too big and feels very safe. Our daughter is 14 but we still enjoyed the pool, pentanque and crazy golf. There are so many activities that can be booked with companies near by (kayaking/ canyoning/ electric cycle tours/ climbing). The kayaking was so fun we did the same 12km trip twice (includes 4 canoe slides and rapids). The reception staff were very helpful and booked some of the activities for us. We also had 3 enjoyable nights in the restaurant. It's an easy walk into Vallon Pont D'Arc town so ideally located. A very active and enjoyable holiday all round. We wished we had booked for two weeks! :)

Really enjoyed our 5 nights here. Spotlessly clean wash/shower/dish wash facilities, with eco washing up liquid, soap and toilet paper all provided. They will also arrange canoe trips with a local company, who collect you from the site. We booked a riverside pitch, and were glad we paid the little extra for the privilege. Free paddle board taster sessions. Yoga also. Excellent pool and play facilities for adults and children alike. Good, reasonably priced, restaurant. You can walk into town, via the vineyard and across the road. Lovely market on a Thursday. Well worth a visit.

Dear Amanda, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay so much! As you point out we provide our guests with all they need to wash and wash up, and of course all ecological! Please note that all our water taps are automatic to reduce as much as well the water consumption on our camping! You were given a pitch near the river not because you paid extra but because it was available, we like it that anyone can have that privilege and we do not want our clients to pay more for it :) That is also the reason why all our guest have access to the activities we offer in the high season : stand up paddle, workshops, yoga etc. We hope to see you again some time and maybe you will be lucky and get a riverside pitch again? Best regards, Mariska and Stéphane Moulin

Fabulous site. Plenty of regularly cleaned wash facilities. Lovely swimming pool and, excellent facilities for adults and children alike. Free half hour paddle board lesson available to pre-book. Yoga sessions too. Good, reasonably priced, restaurant. You can walk through the vineyard, then across the road, up to the lovely little town, where there is a abundance of shops. Great market on a Thursday, well worth a visit.

We loved this site. The facilities were immaculate and the BBQ area and playground great with the kids. Our pitch overlooked the river and was just fantastic and peaceful. The lovely swing seats and hammocks for guests to enjoy the river made it feel very special. We are nature lovers so to see coypu and even a beaver one evening while sat enjoying the tranquility over a beer made this my favourite site for the 2 months we were away. We will be back!

Dear bhicks2019, Thank you so much for your lovely review. You perfectly resumed the atmosphere we like to put forward : nature, quietness and peace, but still with all the facilities one needs: clean and comfortable sanitary buildings, restaurant, swimming pool, childrens' playgrounds and common barbecues of course. The hammocks and swing seats allow our guests to enjoy the Ardèche riverside all day long. Please note that in June, July and August a small "buscafé" on our beach can provide you with beer, icecream and soft drinks! We really hope to see you back at la Roubine one day!
