Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm a little late writing this, but I was nostalgically reflecting on my time here, a year ago, and realized I hadn't written a review. A friend and I stayed here one night and were made to feel right at home. The house is beautifully kept and is charming in an old world kind of way. The hosts, Bill and Lois, were wonderful. The room was cozy and warm, the bathroom was clean and the water pressure was strong. Having a hot tub to relax in after a day of skiing was a nice luxury. Perhaps most memorable, besides the company of the hosts, was the breakfast. WOW! What can I say, other than that? It was simply delicious. And beyond that, Lois was kind enough to provide a little recipe book of the dishes that had been prepared, among other favourites, for us to take home. An

I was warmly welcomed by Lois and Bill for my stay at the Gables Bed and Breakfast. The century home has character and charm including Simon, the cat. Breakfast was great and Lois accommodated my dietary requests graciously providing me with ample variety to start my day. If you find yourself in Stayner overnight, I highly recommend the Gables B&B.

This charming Bed & Breakfast is certainly a place you'll want to visit, stay and enjoy! I've stayed here in the past a number of times while in the area on business and have now added it to my "list of great places to stay" when travelling in my personal life. This 150 year old home is very charming, the morning Breakfast is outstanding and the hosts, Lois & Bill are great people. I shared and enjoyed a coffee yesterday morning with Lois before I left -- she's very entertaining and even shared a great little laundry tip with me called FF. I would recommend visiting The Gables B&B when you're in the Collingwood area.

A relaxing home with a high quality breakfast. Great hosts, easy to locate and a very well kept property. Staynor is a safe area with a nice little main drag to take a stroll. Would make a nice home base for exploring the area over a couple days.

My partner and I stayed one night at the Glables and we just loved it. The owners Lois and Bill are extremely pleasant and most hospitable. We had a queen room which is nicely decorated and themed with timepieces from close to one hundred years. The bed is very comfortable and the room has all the necessary amenities, including private shower/washroom. The robes are a sweet bonus. You are free to use the living and dining areas which have a fire place to enjoy at night. There is a beautiful outdoor garden, hot tub and fire pit. We were unable to make use of the outdoor facilities because our stay was short. Lois and Bill make an incredible breakfast for their guests. We had a very large Yorshire pudding which included apples and caramelized pecans. This was accompanied by a

My wife and I were celebrating our daughter's surprise 40th birthday in Blue Mountain. As it would have it, everywhere in Blue Mountain was either too expensive, all booked up or just not worth it. After much thought and discussion, we decided to stay just outside. That is when we discovered this lovely B&B in Stayner. It is a short 20 minute drive from Blue Mountain. We are so happy to have come upon it. After reading all the wonderful reviews, we decided to book our two-night stay. Our amazing hosts, Lois and Bill, welcomed us as if we were family they hadn't seen in ages. We immediately felt at home. We were shown to our room (which was lovely) followed by a quick tour and history of the place. The dining room where breakfast is served is finely decorated. Many period pieces

Fantastic B& B. Felt right at home the minute we walked in the door. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Look forward to visiting again. We loved the Victorian home, really comfortable beds. Not far from Collingwood and Wasaga Beach. A car is a must to see all the sights. Ann & Maurice.

This B&B is very welcoming and comfortable in every aspect. The beautiful Victorian home is decorated in a manner reflecting its heritage. The common rooms are warm and inviting, and every effort has been taken to ensure that you feel at home here. Our room was charming, beautifully decorated, with every amenity you might want. The bed was deliciously comfortable, from pillows to bedding. It was immaculately clean. Yard/garden was peaceful, with a hot tub, if you are so inclined. As others have noted, the breakfasts are noteworthy. Homemade baked goods are excellent, as was everything else. Conveniently-located, in a quiet neighborhood, this was the perfect place for a getaway, and it truly earns its high ratings.
