We booked a week in the Chalet which was clean, well furnished and roomy, although it's only got 1 bedroom there is a sofa bed in the dining room, the host was lovely and showed us where everything was, good WiFi and a smart TV for those inevitable rainy days, would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We have spent a fabulous week in Am Bothan which is a beautiful home from home. The house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Bill and Sadie are a lovely welcoming couple who can’t do enough for you . Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

Back here for a second visit, the accommodation is very comfortable and has everything you need. The owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Would highly recommend the Chalet . Our grandson just loves it here and wants to stay for ever .

We stayed in "The Chalet" for a week while we explored the area walking and by bike. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well equipped so it felt a bit like "home from home". The owners live on site and are there to give advice on local places to shop / eat etc. Also, we found the maps, walking ideas and historical information available in booklets and folders really useful and helped us make the most of our time there. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to others.

We are just back from a week's stay in The Smiddy. Probably the best appointed self catering accom. we have ever had. with large fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. (Good washing line in the garden) very spacious lounge/ diner and really good sized bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Both en-suite and the double bedroom even had it's own T.V. The whole accom was light and airy and although we did not need them there were plenty of space heaters in all areas. We had a dog with us and no problem with somewhere to take short/necessary walks and a great beach only half a mile away for the long runs and ball chasing. Bill and Sarah, the owners could not have been more hospitable, helpful and friendly. The Smiddy is just off the main Loch Maddy/Lochboisdale road on Benbecula and is an ideal central location for exploring the whole of the wonderful Uist chain of Outer Hebrides. The Main Co-op is a mile down the road. The wonderful Bakers only 3 miles away and the excellent Stepping Stones Restaurant about 4 miles away. We had no occasion to sample the probable delights of the two nearby Hotels. We were lucky with the weather and were not housebouind at all for our stay but I have no doubt we would have enjoyed an enforced day in with plenty of board games,DVD's and books available in the cottage. As a birdwatcher the cottage is an excellent location with two small lochs very close by for an early morning or late evening walk and Short Eared Owls and Hen Harrier seen on most day from the garden. . All in all, we (two couples) had a wonderful week and would certainly like to return one day
