My boyfriend and I stayed at the B&B for three nights whilst cycling round North Uist and Berneray. It is in an excellent position close to the Lochmaddy ferry terminal and only an hour's cycle from Berneray's ferry terminal over to Harris. The room was lovely, clean and warm and Maggie was very welcoming. Lots of storage space for bikes... More

Thank you for your review. Redburn House is, as you say, superbly located for the Ferry, and as such, guests are often up and leaving at 7.00 am to catch the early sailings. Unfortunately not all guests are as considerate to others as they should be , and can be a little noisy. One of he reasons for the 'help-yourself'... More

My Partner and I stayed for one night and were looking forward to a lovely cosy room with nice food, as we had previously had on previous 3 night on the isles however, very disappointed that is was more of a bunk house feel. It was like a hostel with a self service breakfast, and not that cheap. The room... More

Hi Eleanor, I'm sorry you found your stay disappointing. The majority of our visitiors find our rooms more than adequately sized, (we have never had anyone complain that the rooms are small ) very bright and welcoming by day, and warm and cosy at night so I am sorry this was not your experience. Being on a remote Hebridean Island,... More

Room was clean and tidy enough but I think won't be everyone's cup of tea. There is plenty laid out for breakfast which is self service but is not of a great quality. I'd categorise it as cheap and cheerful, probably a rung up the ladder from a bunkhouse but quirky in a nice way. As my title says, it... More

Lovely place to stay, Maggie made us very welcome. We stayed three nights and the room was warm and comfortable. A continental style breakfast was prepared and in the fridge with no pressure as to what time you ate it. Easy to warm the croissants and scone on the toaster.

Used for one night stop over before travelling on to Harris the next day. Minutes from the ferry terminal, spacious and clean accommodation. Met on arrival, given overnight access to kitchen and shown allocated breakfast foodstuffs - nice and plentiful. No staff on site overnight. Perfect for getting up early, breakfasting and getting on your way.

Spent 2 nights here which we booked on line from NZ. We made an excellent choice for a comfortable warm welcoming BnB. Continental breakfast with everything you could wish for all laid on in a self catering style which made us feel more at home. Enough food to make a wee packed lunch!

Comfortable rooms, great range of food available for breakfast - help yourself. It took me a while to realise that the B&B house was unoccupied, with the "minder" living just up the road. So when we arrived a bit earlier than I originally indicated we had to hang around waiting for her to make contact before we could get in.... More

Booked for one night at the last min and was more than happy with everything. Owner doesn't stay onsite but is only a few mins away if needed. Room was large and very comfy. Breakfast was a continental one which we were unsure of, but it was plentiful and more than enough. Would definitely use again

We stayed for one night on our trip along the islands. We ha a ground floor room, which was a very large double. The room was very well presented and the bed was comfy. As per previous reviewers this is a guest house with a DIY difference... very nice room just a few hundred yards from the Lochmaddy ferryport on North Uist...and a kitchen to use as you wish..handy for campers/travellers with their own food to cook..continental breakfast all laid out in the morning for you... overall a decent experience
