Fabulous spot and great wee Hobbit house gave us a welcome break from our camping exploits. The wee house was cosy and well equipped and our hosts were fantastic, buying us a few bits from the supermarket on their way home. (We'd arrived on bikes and misjudged the location of the last one before the campsite!, No one felt like a 10? mile trip for bits and pieces! We wouldn't have starved but the stay was made much more comfortable!) We had a dedicated bathroom (in these COVID times) and it was spotless. The use of the bothy was an added bonus. We were just sorry not to have stayed longer. The Hobbit houses can squeeze in 4 people but it's very neat. Ample for an overnight but perhaps not for too much longer! For two or three people they'd be superb!
Small caravan/campervan site by the sea. Views to Benbecula. Peaceful. Welcoming owners. It can be wet and windy, but that's the Outer Hebrides. good value and highly recommended (check which facilities are open in the light of Covid-19 restrictions)
We stayed here for 2 nights in September whilst we explored Uist. Very well laid out immaculate campsite. Most (possibly all) pitches have beautiful views across the water with a beach you can explore when the tide is out. Very Covid secure with hand sanitisers at each potential pinch point. When we visited they were only taking self contained units because of Covid but that was fine with us. Owner very friendly - highly recommended campsite!
Stayed two nights in September very convent placed site Very clean and well maintained site Very nice owners. Would very much recommend this site to others I would recommend booking as it gets busy. Very good social distancing and hand sanitisers available at all service points.
I visited in August 2020. The owners were lovely and welcoming, the pod was cosy with an electric heater. There were plenty of amenities like kettle, microwave and crockery. The showers and toilets were Covid friendly and the views and walks nearby were interesting enough even in Uist weather. The only thing I would recommend is bringing an extra camping matt as the futons were a little worn down so could feel the bumps in the wooden slats. A glamping getaway perfect for those wanting to explore the islands by bike, car or motorhome!
