If you want to visit Firenze, at the same time to enjoy a wonderful and peaceful place in the countryside and to meet an extraordinary lady,go to Giovanna's Villa Sestini. We have just spent six days there and we are really very satisfied. The location is perfect. By car it is only 3 kms to a cheap parking place (2 euros a day)and the bus 23 takes you in 10 minutes to the historical centre of Firenze. In the evening you can enjoy the sun set over the city from the amazing garden. The room and the bathroom is spacy and very clean and it is cleaned every day. The breakfast Giovanna prepares for her guests is rich with different kinds of cheese and ham, yoghurt, homemade cakes and marmalade. There is a swimming pool at the villa too. And mainly Giovanna is a very nice lady who will help you with anything you need and with whom it is a pleasure to be. The villa comes from the medieval period and it is very stylish and has its special charm. Thank you,Giovanna for the best holiday we have experienced in years.…

We spent more than a week in this lovely located villa. Some helpful facts: - Location: at first you may be scared by very narrow local roads paved with stone walls. Driving, especially bigger and rented car may be some kind of experience. In any case, reaching Florence and nearby motorway to hit Pisa, Vinci and other Tuscan gems is really easy. No problems with parking your car near the property, - Groceries and other stuff you can buy in Coop supermarket in Bagno di Ripoli. - Insects, as some people mentioned before may be kind of issue. You may consider taking your favourite electric repelling devices with you, - Swimming pool is shared with other gusts of their property. Anyway it is very clean. Some people may be afraid of bees and wasps trying to drink the water from the shower drain. Harmless but in big numbers, - renting few hundred years old property you will face some drawbacks. Gas kitchen plate, boiling water for the tea takes ages but on the other hand you have all the spices and equipments of the traditional Italian house, - The garden is really beautiful, offering great views on the surrounding hills and remote domes of Florence. Giovanna is very warm and careful host.…

Thanks for the kind words, I'm sorry for the wasps and the bees that every day disturb the guests at the pool, but the extraordinary hot season and the lack of rain makes these insects drink in the pool.

Beautifull palazzino, breathtaking view and atmosphere surraunded with the scents of figs and cypresses in the air. Giovanna is nice and helpfull just as she was always in the last 12 years, since we have been visiting Villa Sestini. Breakfast can be local and also continental AND if you smile a lot, Giovanna MIGHT make you a fruity breakfast pie! Maximum enjoyment!!

Villa Sestini is a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, set in olive groves on the hills overlooking Florence. Joanna/Gioanna our host was keen that we enjoyed our visit. She was helpful in advising on how to visit Florence by bus, and where to park the car. She provided information on where to eat in the evening and places to visit and enjoy in Tuscany. The house is approached via narrow roads and a car is essential. The bedroom was comfortable, with a separate bathroom, and use of the lounge and garden. The property has a swimming pool guests can use. We really enjoyed our visit. It was fun to be in a real Tuscan house, with an Italian host. The breakfast was well presented with fresh local produce. We were pleased not to be in the heat and bustle of the city, and found access to Tuscany and Chianti was very easy. Getting into Florence by bus was also very straightforward. We stayed for 7 nights.…

We stayed in the beautiful villa where we had a room with a breathtaking view of Florence. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Each morning an excellent breakfast was served at an agreed time. There is a private parking space nearby. The B&B is a nice play to stay for a visit to Florence and Fiesole. Note that there are rooms with and without a kitchenette. Overall, highly recommended!

The, somewhat older, B&B is located on a hill with a beautiful view over Firenze. Own transportation is needed to get around. The owner is very friendly and gives tips to visit/eat. Overall it was a very nice and calm B&B (with swimmingpool). The 1 potential downside is the remote location.

Charming, peaceful Villa with stunning views over Florence. Within easy reach of Florence by car, allowing the flexibility of experiencing the city and the rural calm. The hostess Giovanna is delightful, she made us feel very welcome, keeping us well fed before our busy days scouting wedding venus.
