Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We have just returned from a short week break, having stayed in Snipe Barn, and absolutely loved it (even though it poured with rain the entire time).

The barns are fully equipped for everyday life and have been beautifully converted to make your stay here relaxing and comfortable. We had no issues connecting to the wifi (which was great as signals are limited). The Alexa echo is a great addition too. For those looking for more traditional games, there is shed to the side of the snipe Barn that holds an abundance of games, DVDs and even VHS videos! This is also where you book you time slots for the hot tub etc.

The entire site is well maintained and offers a hot tub (which is an absolute must), a fitness room, games room (with pool table, table tennis, air hockey, foosball as well as sky on a large projected TV) so great for adults and children alike. It even has its own toilet facilities too. There is also an indoor soft play area for little ones. The addition of a farm shop, right next door, is an amazing bonus. It's stocked well with everything you might need including some gifts too!

On arrival, we were greeted by Joanne, who is absolutely lovely, very welcoming and friendly. The "goodies" waiting for us in the barn we're a great touch (the brownies were lush!)

We're returning here for Christmas (but staying in the mallard) and can't wait. If you are wondering whether to book a stay here, do it! You will not be disappointed 😁

Perfect stay, we used Pheasant and Widgeon. Both were furnished and equipped with everything you could want and more besides, including coffee, tea, sugar, eggs, biscuits, fresh baked chocolate brownies. It isn't just the value of those items, it is arriving after a long journey and not having to unpack or shop just put the kettle on. On which the farm shop is steps away and has a wide selection again at realistic prices. It's hard to chose between the barns, Pheasant is definitely the more luxurious for a couple, Widgeon is spacious and ideal for sharing, still high end though.

There is absolutely nothing to criticise at Wheatacre Hall Barns. Jo & her team are fantastic, the organisation is spot on, the farm shop is excellent, everywhere is clean and the accommodation is superb. The whole place exudes quality, from the towels to the bedding, fitments and facilities. Ideally located for the country side, the towns, the villages or the beach. The welcome pack was excellent too. Special thanks to Dave for showing our grandsons the milking shed and calves. We are a family of 6 with 2 grandparents, 2 adults and two young grandsons with Autism. Everyone of us enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning at Easter 2024. Thank you Harvey & Jennifer & Family

We’ve recently just come back from a three night stay in Mallard Barn and everything was absolutely brilliant! Before our stay, Joanne was extremely helpful answering all our questions with speedy responses and advise.
When we arrived, the barns have been done to a truly high standard and we were welcomed with brownies, milk, yoghurt etc. The hot tub was perfect, we were always able to go in when we wanted and the farm shop was a perfect addition. Overall a fantastic stay!

We booked a week and stayed in Mallard. The overall location and complex is super and made even more special by the adjoining well-stocked quality farm shop and local pub White Lion only minutes away. The accommodation was clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. We enjoyed local walks, visits to the nearby towns, and had use of the fitness room. We met the owners briefly, who were very helpful to deal with and find out more about the farm, the amenities and places to visit. The only complaint is that the week went by so fast. A really lovely place for 3 generations of my family to stay.

Really enjoyed our wonderful short break here. Accommodation was perfect, very well suited for 6 adults and two children. Everything you need is supplied, including eggs, tea, coffee and sugar. Great welcome treats ( chocolate brownies were amazing) Games room is a real bonus and being able to see the herd of cows being milked was a highlight which our grandchildren loved. Already looking at dates for a return visit.

We stayed in Mallard and Snipe for a family holiday. 11 adults and 2 dogs and had an absolutely wonderful week.
The standard of accommodation was exceptional, very clean, well looked after and well equipped kitchen.
Garden space lovely for some quiet time.
Mallard is huge! Enough space for us all to eat together at the dining table or in the garden.
Everyone made good use of the facilities on site, the games room especially.
And that's without mentioning the most well stocked farm shop on site..stocked with local produce. A special thanks to shop staff for organising a local butchers order and supplying food for a joint birthday meal.
Homemade brownies , milk, yoghurt etc all ready on our arrival..a lovely thought.
Good walks for dogs direct from site.
Joanne made the booking easy and was on hand for any issues... WiFi for those working, it coped easily with 3 online at once.
Will definitely return. Can't recommend Wheatacre Hall Barns highly enough.
Thank you for a lovely holiday

We stayed here 7 years ago in Widgeon and Coot barns. This year we stayed in Mallard. The barns are very well appointed, clean and well equipped. The facilities are excellent, we spent quite a lot of time in the games room and the ladies used the hot tub. The addition of a farm shop has added value to your stay, selling all sorts from vegetables to ice cream. I particularly liked the Belgian Chocolate Sauce. There are many attractions to visit in the area, and the Norfolk Broads are on the doorstep. Beccles is well worth a visit. Have booked to visit again. Can’t have a better recommendation than that.

We have reviewed this accommodation before but, as this is our first visit for a couple of years, I thought it warranted another review.
Pragmatic COVID arrangements.
Accommodation is high quality and Joanna (our host), makes sure she offers a lot of nice touches as standard - flowers, cake, eggs, yoghurt, tea bags, coffee and even dishwasher tablets - all of which are appreciated.
The farm has an enclosed hot-tub, toddler soft play room, a great games room and a gym.
The latest addition is a well stocked 'pantry' farm shop, for use by guests as well as the local community.
There is also free use of the swimming pool at the nearby Waveney River Centre.
Grandparents with us this time, and we all enjoyed our visit to see the cows being milked. Chickens where settling in to their accommodation, so we didn't get to see them this time around.
We hired a boat from Beccles (Hippersons), which was a great way to travel up and down the River Waveney, as well mooring up and taking advantage of a pub lunch.
And fish and chips on the beach at Great Yarmouth one another trip.
Lots of things to do on and around the farm.

What a wonderful weekend had at the Wheatacre Hall Barns. Such a beautiful setting, with just the most perfect accommodation. As a family of 14 we had Snipe, Woodcock and Mallard. The family socialised and ate in Mallard which became the epicentre of a great family break. The grandchildren loved the activities room and just generally exploring. There are some beautiful walks all around the barns. Lots of wildlife and scenery. Treats from the farm shop was a must for all, including fresh bread and cakes. Jo was a lovely host and made us feel most welcome. We have already recommended to others and we will be returning.
