My husband and I loved our stay; the views of the vineyards and hills from the pool and restaurant are spectacular. Natalie at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. She helped us with all our questions about navigating the area so we could make the most of enjoying the captivating views of Tuscany between Florence and Siena. We highly recommend this resort and plan to come again. The wine tasting experience was also good and a fun way to get to know other guests upon our arrival. This is a great resort to either relax on holiday or to use as a central location to explore this area of Tuscany and the Chianti hills.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel itself is wonderful & charming. The receptionist was very helpful & friendly. Breakfast & dinner is served on the amazing terrace with a wonderful view.
Breakfast option could be bigger & dinner in the hotel is totally overpriced. But the taste is very good. Lunch is possible at the poolbar but is also overpriced & this should be much more improved.

What makes this hotel special among the numerous amazing accommodation in this area? THE STAFF!!! We weren't even their formal guests since ours was a last minute girls trip and they were completely booked. Since there weren't any tables available for dinner that evening, the receptionist suggested we come early and she could arrange to have the kitchen staff make us their special "Tagliere di Salumi e formaggi" and house wine served on the terrace with the stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. This beautiful experience was made possible thanks to NATALY, the receptionist, who went out of her way to accommodate us even though we weren't paid guests at the hotel. My personal heartfelt thank you to NATALY, who has also become a new friend. The next time we're in the area, there will be no need to search for accommodation.... we will immediately book at the Palagina Hotel!!!

We stayed at Vila Margerita. 8 adults and two babies.
We came from Israel to celebrate a special family event.

When we arrived, no one was available to escort us to the villa, we required to find all by ourselves.
The villa was not clean, kitchen sink was Clogged, dishwasher is not properly cleaning.
No Wi-Fi or landline was available during all our stay! Since cellular reception is low in the area it was very hard to mange our visit for simple actions as order restaurant
You don’t maintain the villa during our stay, towels change and even garbage bags, we had to ask for few times until received one day before we left.
One of the reasons we picked Palagina is the tour for children in the farm. We asked in the recaption to schedule the tour and answer was its not available, we want to the farm itself were we met a very nice lady (the only one during our visit), she answered there is no problem and set a tour which was enjoyable.
Since its October it was already cold in the Villa and with two little baby it was impossible to stay outside of the room in the evening
Breakfast cost 15 Euro is outrages… if in good Cafebar we paid 5 euro why to triple.

We paid for 4 star villa and did not receive no service or value

What a disappointment. My husband and I revisited the Palagina after an interval of 7 years. Back in 2014, Eric and Fabio the head waiter ran an efficient, friendly and delightful hotel, aided by a brilliant chef and brilliant food. And it was excellent value for money.

All that has gone. A hotel chain has taken over and it’s a completely different place. The result is an expensive and impersonal experience with plain and unimaginative food (they have the cheek to do a ‘tasting menu’ which suggested it was something special which it definitely wasn’t). It seems there is no one person in charge to oversee what should be a smooth run operation. Service was falling apart except for one waiter in the restaurant doing his best. A note in the room to say the swimming towels would only be replaced every 3 days and would be charged €35 if they disappeared added to a totally charmless experience. And the bill came to over €1,200 for a 2 night stay.

*Note to hotel chain: your sun beds are uncomfortable and the pool water was freezing.

This is a beautiful villa with lovely grounds but it is slightly lacking and not up to a 4 star standard for me. For me they shouldn't charge 3 euros to change a towel for the pool. You have to make it last 3 days. In the room there is very little good furniture. It is all a bit basic. There is no dressing table with mirror and lighting is very poor. The bathroom had hardly any space to hang up all towels and no door to the toilet (we were a family). We thought the shower in the bath was extremely dangerous. Firstly to get in and out was very hard as it was high and had a huge marble surround with sharp edges. There was no rubber mat to stop you slipping. I struggled to get in and out safely and my husband actually slipped and had a huge bruise on his leg. Also water goes everywhere so it is extremely slippery when you get out. Bed was excellent but sheets were of an average threadcount. Pillows not great. No slippers or robes and some surfaces were dusty. Lunch is only available by the pool which we understand during Covid but it was so poor. I wish I had taken a picture of the chicken salad. Had no taste and had obviously been around for days. This put us off having dinner there so we went elsewhere. They were kind when I asked for certain food the next time we had lunch. I had asked for a fruit salad (from breakfast) but it ended up being a mixed salad (lost in translation!). I also asked for a late check out and that was fine but was told we would have to pay 15 euros each if we stayed by the pool after 12.30!! I have never had that before! So there is good and bad. Nice grounds to relax in - nice staff but rooms need updating and made more comfortable. Bathroom certainly needs to be made safe.

AVOID - I am very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in August. Agoda and the hotel charged us. We have been trying to reclaim the £800 overcharge for 4 weeks. No one is answering emails or the phone. When they do answer we are asked to "call back later". Terrible service.
Air conditioning in room did not work despite someone coming out to try fix it twice.
Rooms need updating - for the price you pay you would expect more.

I am hoping this review triggers a response from the hotel ASAP.

Dear Mrs Charlotte , i deeple excuse me for such a bad service but i would like to explain you a couple of things; first of all i would like you to know that we are all working at reduced times , so some procedures , may take a bit longer than normal secondly , this is an operation that we can not do directly from the Villa but that had to be authorized and paid by our central administration office in Florence , that are also working at reduced times ! with the season open and , fortunatley , with a still high occupation percentage, you can easily understand that we are trying to do our best to satisfy and follow all clients requests ; but that at the same times, there are priorities to observe and sometimes delays as well; i know for sure that the booking office contacted you yesterday confirming that the payment had been done ; i find your feedback a bit too severe , but this is up to your conscience , if you think we deserve such a treatment.... i please you again to excuse us for the delay in answering and refunding you ...and invite you anyway to come and visit us again in the future ....

I can't say enough great things about this place! My fiancee and I got engaged on our recent trip to Tuscany, and I can't think of anyplace I'd rather have stayed at. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. Manuel helped me plan a secret picnic lunch with delicious, fresh Tuscan food prepared at the local farm and wine from the villa's own vineyard. He even recommended the perfect nature park for the proposal (Vallombrosa, a gorgeous, scenic 45 min drive away). Renato seemed to know every local restaurant and made recommendations and reservations for us, often last minute (because we're procrastinators), which never disappointed. The farm tour was a blast, even for us childless adults, and the olive trees around the swimming pools offered the perfect place to relax. We will only stay at this villa when we travel to Tuscany from now on!

It's obvious based on reviews, this place is breathtaking. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had 2 teens with us so booked the "Casa Dei Frutteti Apartment" @ 224,00€/night. Super spacious; good AC; small kitchette; 2 bathrooms but no view. But you get the views at the awesome pool(s) and restaurant, so we were good.

The dining is superb, but be sure to make reservations; we didn't our 2nd night and were ready to head out but at the last minute, they made us a little table with a beautiful view.

Dinner 1st night, my husband and I shared the Firentina, an Insalata Mista, and Ricotta Spinach Dumpling - it was heavenly. Final bill was 139.50€ for family of 4.
