Rachel went out of her way to make me feel at home. She is a warm and caring person. It is a very comfortable b&b at a bargain price. I loved the garden! I would recommend Rachel's to anyone who is visiting CT.

I was needing to be close to the City Centre of Cape Town. I found the B&B clean and affordable and the host welcoming and kind. The Decor is kind of old and outdated, but for the price I did not mind. Parking could be an issue if one has expensive items in ones car, but we managed to find a solution for this. I found a GPS very helpful to locate and navigate to and from the establishment as the roads and highway access is pretty complex, especially at night.

Thank you Andrew for your review on Trip Advisor. I do tell my guests that there is enclosed secure parking if they wish to be in an enclosed garage. There is my garage for smaller cars and a bigger driveway next door for bigger cars. The only problem is that there is not available parking for a truck or a combi because of the height. But the Combi could park in my driveway which is perfectly safe as you would have noticed that there are many cars parked outside all night and has been so for years. It is understandable that you would take your treasured possessions inside the establishment as you would also not leave treasured possessions in your car during the day in the city or wherever you were parked. Our area is very safe and as you saw there is a Land Rover and Mercedes Benz parked outside all night for several years without incidence. In Cape Town not all homes have garages for all the cars of the household. I know guests from Johannesburg have mentioned that they cannot believe all the cars are parked outside all night. I'm happy to know that you found my home clean and affordable and also that i was a welcoming and kind host. Enjoy your weekend Kind Regards Rachel

Rachel's B&B is located 5min drive from V&A Waterfront and City Centre, in a quite residential area. You have a lovely view of the harbour and can take a relaxing walk around the neighbourhood with Table Mountain right next to you. My room was small but well kept and clean with en-suite bathroom. Ideal for business accommodation with metered Taxi service available which was excellent. Rachel is very friendly and always willing to help and assist. Knowing that she respect our privacy we felt comfortable sharing our private holiday photos with her. ps there are no secure parking for vehicles although the area is quite and safe and many residents do park on the pavement. I can recommend this B&B with open heart.

Thanks so much Johan and Rita for the lovely review. I did tell you that there is enclosed secure parking next door or you could use my garage but guests normally choose to park outside as it is more convenient and they can see it is safe because of all the cars which park outside at night. Some guests do prefer to have there car in the enclosed parking so there is definitely secure enclosed parking for 2 cars. My garage is for Ford Laser or smaller cars but next door you can get in larger cars. I needed to respond to that misunderstanding that there is no secure parking. My website: www.capetown-bed-breakfast.za.net also states that there is enclosed secure parking. God Bless and thanks again.

Thank you for your comments and kind words and i would like to reply to your comments. Area - this area is peaceful and popular with tourists, as borne out by the fact that there’s a 5-star luxury apartment complex one road below us and another luxury B&B very nearby – at considerably higher rates. We are by no means ‘isolated’. In fact, the contrary is true. We are very convenient to all tourist attractions, including the V&A Waterfront, and there’s a range of restaurants to choose from nearby. Obviously any tourist who depends solely on public transport will have some issues getting around. That is commonsense. Mountain slope – the fact that we are high on the mountain means we have lovely views, and again, presents no obstacle for the majority of our guests, nearly all of whom have their own transport. Incidentally, the steepness of the slope is an exaggeration – my 90-year-old neighbor frequently uses the bus service and gets up the hill with little effort. Décor – tastes differ. However, most of my guests have been pleasantly surprised by the accommodation and more often than not, remark that the photos on the websites do not do the rooms justice. Absence of God - I’m perplexed about the reference to the absence of God in the rooms. We welcome guests of all religions and I don’t understand this comment. Stairs - the rooms are down 13 stairs, so not suitable for persons with mobility problems, but not an issue for the average guest. The apartments are not in a ‘basement’ as described but are light and bright, with doors leading out into a sheltered garden. The rooms are naturally cool in summer and warm in winter. Cleanliness - the rooms being cleaned and aired every day – this is what most of my guests welcome and expect as being a natural part of the B&B service so I fail to understand it should be a source of complaint. We pride ourselves on offering a clean and pleasant environment. Breakfast – we offer guests the option of self-catering in their own fully fitted kitchen or, if they prefer, a full breakfast, for which there is an extra charge, as is usual in all B&B accommodation. I trust the above puts the ‘complaints’ of this particular guest into perspective.

This the perfect place to call home while on holiday. Rachel is so sweet and caring. She makes you feel like one of her own, making sure all details are in place and that you are safe and well cared for. She goes above what is average and follows up on any concerns. Her home is warm and welcoming, clean and comfortable. She recommends great tour guides and has good accurate advice. A great breakfast is served with a view to match. I felt very comfortable and well looked after here. Thank you Rachel
