We stayed in Marni village in Aug/Sept 21, reception staff where very helpful and friendly. Rooms where clean and serviced every 2nd day, in the new apartments their is only air conditioning in the livingroom which came as a surprise, the hotel did allowed us to change the room for a ground floor unit as it was considered cooler but as we had small children staying in the front room we had to keep the bedroom door open to get any cool air into the bedroom. The hotel kindly gave us a fan and offered us free extension leads as we forgot our power convertors. The location was good, beautiful views, approximately 20 minutes away from the main town however preferred the village the hotel is located in. Unfortunately there is no bus service to the town from the hotel or publicly so you are reliant on walking or taking a taxi which costs around 8 euro each way. We found the staff working for the cretan medical service offering COVID testing in the hotel very rude, had we been located in town we would have sourced another provider. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel a couple of times, food quality was to a good standard. The swimming pool was excellent, it would have also been nice to have a gym in the complex. The hotel has 2 supermarkets within 2 minutes of the entrance of the complex and located next to restaurants,

We had a week’s stay at Marni Village, mid June. On arrival, the receptionist was friendly and automatically talked us through the location of the nearby resorts and information about the hotel. We booked 2 maisonettes and were lucky to be next door to each other (I think we had 101 and 102), however one of the rooms was so dark and dingy. Arriving late, we didn’t realise that the room doesn’t get natural daylight, until morning when I opened the curtains and noticed the shutters. You could open these but they couldn’t fasten back so it was more hassle than it was worth, it also had a dark wood door, rather than sliding doors... which again meant no natural light. One of our rooms (101), also had a problem with hot water. Whoever was first in got a hot/warm shower and then second person, got cold water. Not ideal. Aside from these issues, the room was clean, spacious and it was a nice surprise to have air con and the safe included. The restaurant/bar staff weren’t particularly friendly and the hotel food wasn’t great so I would recommend self catering. Pool area was lovely and clearly well looked after, the complex is built into a hill so probably not ideal for anyone with limited mobility. All in all, I would return but would ideally book another room type with more light... if that exists.

We visited this area 4 years ago and loved it, with lovely restaurants, some great bars, great views of Hersonosis down the hill and quaint winding roads in the village centre its a fantastic place to holiday.

This year, Sept 2021, we decided to stay at the Marni Village and the hotel is very nice.
It is impeccably maintained with staff cleaning mopping and sweeping up all the time, it really is a lovely place to sit and relax.
Good rooms, basic but clean and tidy.
The pool areas are very good and with 3 pools a good choice too.The middle pool is the main pool area with a great little bar area and a restaurant serving some very nice food.
There are alot of hills on the complex, some verging on mountains , with the top pool being high up a steep hill.
The pool villas are situated at the bottom of the complex and although we didn't opt for one looked very nice.
The location is good being close to all the bars and restaurants.
The staff here are friendly, I thought Demetri very helpful on reception and the bar staff of an evening were excellent.
Prices in the pool bar/restaurant aren't bad, beer at €3.5 and pizza at around €8.
Marni Village is an excellent place to stay with some pool view rooms having great views of the main pool but also fantastic sea and mountain views.
Hersonosis is literally a 15 minute walk down the hill and a €7 taxi ride back !
There are lots of great places to eat there with some fantastic sea front restaurants, some with tables on the beach for that Shirley Valentine retro beach dinner !

Having stayed in Koutouloufari previously I was somewhat surprised by the massive price hikes in some restaurants in the village, with food prices being very high and cocktails at around €8 to €10 I thought massively overpriced.
I was in Manchester City centre the week before and it was cheaper there than here !
All in all a nice but expensive holiday, would I return to Marni, yes !

This part of Greece seems to have the thought that it is an exclusive holiday hot-spot with some, and I stress not all places, putting prices up to St Tropez levels !

One disconcerting thing was the amount of cars and quads driving through the very narrow streets of the village with apparent disregard for pedestrians, children or anything else for that matter, the streets are very narrow with little space to evade a rapidly moving car. The streets are supposedly pedestrians only after a certain time but that doesn't apply to some drivers !
The hotels here need to address this before something happens and someone gets seriously hurt.

We visited Marni about 7 years ago and had a great time so decided to take the grandparents this time who have never visited Greece. We'd booked direct with them and they sorted out our taxi transfer for us too. We decided to splash out on one of the villas with a private pool, which isn't cheap but so worth it. They've done an amazing job updating all of the rooms, lots of the smaller apartments have their own mini pools so the 3 communal pools are much less busy. The bar area has been completely revamped, very much enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was good value at €10. Staff, as always, were brilliant. Incredibly helpful, supplying towels etc on our last day as we had a long wait before our flight and needed to shower and change. Cleaners came every day, bedding changed every other day, new quiet air con units in the villa. The resort itself is also thriving which is great to see after covid, lots of our favourite restaurants are still going. Went to the Greek night, great food and entertainment. The pool man noticed an issue with the motor before we did and fixed it before we were even up! I cannot fault this place, they've extended but sensitively to the surrounding area and haven't made it feel 'too big'. I have no doubt we'll be back at some point...and we rarely visit the same place more than once!

Last minute booking during Covid, hotel at 50% capacity so lots of room at the pools we used 9f which there were 3.

We stayed in a premium 1 bedroom apt with 2 children which we managed ok with, the TV could do with being placed somewhere else in the living room, but everything was great and clean.

If we lacked anything the reception were very helpful. On arrival the receptionist showed us our room to make sure it was ok, one of the mattresses was rock hard but that was quickly changed in the morning.

We were in room 215 which had a view of one of the pools and sea.

20 min downhill walk down to Hersonnis but uphill in 30 degrees hard or 8 euros for a taxi.

Villages of Koutouloufari and Piskpiano few mins walks with lots of beautiful tavernas to choose from

Just got back from the most amazing holiday at Marni village!

Beautiful, well-kept site with a renovated main pool area, stunning views and large clean rooms. Staff were 5*, every single person that spoke to us was so friendly and lovely.

The breakfast was delicious, fresh ingredients and great service from the lovely waitress in the mornings. I would highly recommend getting the breakfast if you are staying at Marni village.

We visited during the Covid pandemic and the hotel was so clean, hand sanitizer everywhere :)

The hotel itself is about a 15-20 minute walk downhill from the main strip/beach area of Hersonissos but we didn't mind the walk back uphill as it was a great way to get fit!

Would highly recommend Marni village, thanks for such a great stay 😊

Having stayed at Marni Village many times it was an absolute pleasure to return having missed it both last year and earlier this year.
The renovation of the pool area is beautiful (although I liked it fine before!!) and the new pool bar looks fabulous. We didn’t try the buffet breakfast as we wouldn’t do it justice so we’re hoping that next year the options for smaller breakfasts will return. That’s just our opinion on it, we managed perfectly well going to the little supermarket or popping along to Marel All Day Long or Kokoriko. This is not a village where you could ever starve!! Lunches and evening meals at the pool bar are excellent quality and value, certainly as good as any of the local restaurants.
As always the rooms and grounds were spotless and Covid measures were strictly adhered to. It was such a nice touch being able to take our departure tests at reception and they were so helpful with printing out documents.
The icing on the cake at Marni Village remains the staff. From the cleaners to the management everyone is friendly and welcoming, the very best I’ve ever come across. Thank you Marni Village for a wonderful holiday 😊
Already looking forward to next year!!

We’ve stayed at Marni twice before, but this time was even better. The rooms have been improved and two of the pools have been upgraded, which means the main pool isn’t over crowded.

Set in a idyllic mountainside location, it’s just the perfect place to relax. Near to bars, restaurants, tavernas and only 15 minute walk from the sea (1.3km according to my Garmin!).

The reception and bar staff are delightful. They can help with everything from booking taxis to arranging car hire or tickets to the local water park.

Like much of Greece, there aren’t too many bells and whistles in the apartment. But who stays in their room enough to notice? At Marni, you pay the room price and in with that price is the safety deposit box & air conditioning. No hassle over daily fees. Also, the rooms are spotless and are cleaned every single day, with fresh towels and bedding every other day.

It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing family break in reasonably priced apartments. Would 100% recommend and stay ourselves again.

We stayed in villa 701 for a week this August. We were delighted in get away in the current circumstances! We booked the villa direct with Marni and they were very prompt to respond and listened to all requests.

The villa was ideal. The pool area was wonderful, lots of space, comfortable sun beds and plenty of shade. Table and chairs in the shade. The villa itself was spacious and had everything we needed. The stairs to the second floor were VERY steep, I was nervous if they got wet etc as it would be easy to slip. Young kids or elderly would struggle in my opinion.

We didn’t make much use of the communal pools as we had our own, however we did eat at the main pool bar a few lunch times. It was very nice, however we were shocked to be charged for a ketchup sachet. Really!!

Villa was cleaned twice in the week, sheets were changed but beds not made properly. We did have ants in the kitchen but after cleaners came it was sorted.

My Mum travelled with us and stayed in a junior suite. Although it was comfortable, it was very tired. It was certainly not luxury as described on the website. It was clean and basic. Bins only emptied once.

I am not sure if some of the things missing from the accommodation were due to the current climate. There wasn’t any information in the villa/room about Marni or the local area, no water in the fridge on arrival or little personal touches. The view from the villa pool area was onto a car park/building site!

We did really enjoy it, it is a lovely location and the staff were friendly. It’s just traditionally Greek. (Note that some of the apartments have been recently refurbished)

The village itself was beautiful, very Greek, great selection of tavernas. Not walkable you a beach. Would do back for sure.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at Marni Village. Lovely complex with 3 shared pools. Room was basic but exactly as described on their website. We had a 1 bed apartment although just the two travelling as we like a separate bedroom. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels/bedding changed every other day. All the utilities you would expect in the room except an ironing board but there was a large table and with a towel this was no issue.

“Private” pool rooms have been refurbished and are very spacious, they’re overlooked by apartments above so as long as you know it is for private use and not for full privacy then you will be okay.

Restaurant menu is good and they have a takeaway service up until 23:30.

Wi-Fi… Not great during our stay, not sure if it was a local issue but we struggled to connect during the 2 weeks. If you’re dependent on Wi-Fi you may want to double check availability and speeds. We was on a holiday from work so barely used it but when we needed it we got a little frustrated with it.

There’s a convenience store and bakery 50m from the front entrance which has everything you need. Fresh croissants and takeaway coffee first thing was nice. There’re plenty of restaurants in the 3 small villages and you will not be disappointed with them. Sofas, Emmanuel’s and Nikos (the fisherman) were very good.

1 mile from the beach all down hill, if you’re tired at the end of the day it’s a €10 taxi ride back to the complex.

We had little interaction with reception, this is a good sign as to how the holiday went.

Without the Wi-Fi issue it’s a good 5.0/5.0 for a 3 star stay, with the issue we witnessed I’d still give them. 4.8/5.0.

Would recommend a stay
