We had a great stay at Jungle Inn! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Everything is well arranged, from transport to food and excursions. The rooms are also nice and provide a great view over the river and jungle. As it is the last hotel on the road it provides unrestricted view and access to the jungle. Thanks to Alde, Intjah, Rosie for arranging our drives and the unforgettable jungle tour. And we especially want to thank Blade for his great kindness. Too many names that we should have remembered, many thanks to the whole crew :) (hope we spelled the names right :))

So, I actually came here over 30 years ago as a young backpacker. And had a fantastic time... fast-forward to June 2023, and my travel stories inspired my daughter to do the same. She hadn't planned going to Bukit Lawang, or even Sumatra, but took a detour here. During our sporadic messages...I was able to send her old grainy pictures of my visit here...so, she sought out The Jungle Inn....and had a most wonderful evening...she told the restaurant staff about her reasons for visiting...and showed them the old photos...well, she because of major source of interest with the owner also comitng to see, and he informed her he was the owner way back when I visited!...he then presented her with a souvenir with the Hotel logo on, to be given to me on her return home...just how lovey is that. She had a most pleasurable evening which included dinner with a live local band. I'm so grateful to them for making her trip, and mine ( 30 years ago ) so memorable...and I can't wait to take possession of my gift when I meet up with my daughter 4 months from now. What a wonderful team...and right now I'm looking at the possibility of returning and thanking you all in person....I would definitely recommend being looked after by such a dedicated team.

We had a great stay at the Jungle Inn. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They try their best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, clean and we were surprised by the luxurious feel in the jungle of Bukit Lawang. We also enjoyed the food, it was very tasty. In addition we booked a two-days-one-night trek to Gunung Leuser which was amazing, with our guide Ibo. Definitely recommend!

I did cooking class here with my fiancée. Bronti taught us how to make Rendang and Gado Gado. Delicious 😋 We also had breakfast and enjoyed the incredible views across the river and into the jungle. I would definitely recommend coming here. We’ll be back!

The restaurant was amazing! Lovely decor and environment with live music. We didn’t stay here but ate here and absolutely loved it. Cannot recommend the food highly enough. It was really well priced and so, so, so delicious! Great service too - we will be back!

This hotel reminds me of Bali 30 years ago- charming in its rusticity, relatively undiscovered, quirky and isolated. The long-tail macaques put on a show daily on our balcony and we were thrilled to get “up close and personal” with multiple elephants that appeared to be well-treated at a park that was a tailbone-busting 4-wheel 2-hours-of bumps ride away. Had I ever really lived before I was joyfully head-bumped by a frisky juvenile elephant or looked eye to eye with a reclining matriarch while I bathed her face? Nope! Our room was simplistic but with a great river view and a carved 4-poster bed with the requisite netting. In need of some “spit and polish”, it was none the less private and had a unique outdoor bathroom with a truly one-of-a-kind rock and tile shower. Ever shower with 5 monkeys peering down on you from the roof? We did! The restaurant staff was very helpful and efficient in an island-y sort of fashion. Food choices were limited but quite good and we enjoyed chatting up the chef who had travelled/lived in the US. We were told ice cream “maybe tomorrow” each day to no avail. But what can you honestly expect from an isolated guesthouse with no road- only a rugged pathway for pedestrians and ubiquitous gnat-like scooters that was easily a 20-minute walk from the main drag? And there-in lies the charm! Keep expectations real- this is not a place for US hotel-chain fans or lovers of luxury. We were the only Americans in town it seemed and felt we had discovered a funky paradise.

great place, nature, people and hotel. I came to the hotel but I left friends. After trekking with Dede in the jungle and adventures with the Orangutans, I will say that it was the best place I could choose in Indonesia. I recommend it very much. Trust me
