We had an overnight stay here as the eco lodge accross the river had over booked.
It was basic and clean but very noisey as there was a dance festival accross the road in the community centre giving it LARGE with speakers blaring all day until 6pm. Not ideal.
The food was adequate, all freshly cooked - by this i would add that you do have to WAIT for it to arrive. Like most basic stops the breakfast was a set meal and not up to much.Attached is am amusing photo of the towels, we asked for them to be replaced as we thought they were dirty. It appears this is the clean version, they smell clean but looks like they are washed in the river haha. By the way - cold water only in the bathrooms again !!!

This is a very simple hotel. The spacious rooms have no air-conditing, but a good fan. The "bathroom" is simple but OK, the water is warm, although I wonder of it’s heated. In our case the water was a kind of rusty, bud acceptable. Our rooms, we had 2 with connecting doors, were clean. But keep in mind you are in the middle of the jungle so bugs do come inside.

Staff is very friendly. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant very much. When it’s very buzzy it will take some time for your food to arrive, but it’s worth it.

Location is perfect to visit the jungle and Orang Oetan sanctuary.

If we ever return to Bukti Lawang I wonder if we would stay here again, there are some other places that looked also nice. But never the less we enjoyed staying in the Rindu Alam very much.

Tips:
Take a nice dive in the river, the locals are swimming there so…
Do a jungle tour with a guide.

My family travelled in Sumatra for 16 days on an amazing adventure. Total of 11 including 5 grandchildren. Staying at Rindu Alam Hotel for 3 nights over new year period was an unexpected highlight - Bukit Lawang's most busiest 2 days of 'year'. So many happy families enjoying this beautiful area. I booked directly with Mr Delta wonderful help organising all my rooms. Our 6 superior rooms great with adjoining doors, perfect with the children. Swimming in the river rapids at our front door wonderful. We did a full day jungle trek - excellent

Rindu alam hotel is one of the most convenient hotel for access to this hotel is located at the entrance to the tourist area of Bukit Lawang ( about 1,5 kilometers ) and make this into a major venue. The hotel is situated on the edge of the river bank Bahorok
We booked two deluxe-room which are through a connecting door. The atmosphere in the room were very felt comfortable because of the facilities provided do not make us disappointed and especially the bathroom were clean with the water is very cold and clear.
The hotel is also very close ( about 2 kilometers ) to the main bukit lawang’s tourist attraction. For example, the orang utan village, the bat cave, waterfalls, and trekking in the jungle. This is what makes us feel more interested and challenged.
It is one of the best hotel in Bukit Lawang. So, I recommend this hotel Rindu Alam to people who are looking for lodging in tourist Bukit lawang and people busy at work that needs refreshing moment

This is one of the best hotel in Bukit Lawang with perfect panoramic view around the hotel. Behind the hotel there is Sungai Bahorok. I really dont care with all the minor facility because my main objective was business trip in oil palm plantation around. I just want to call all the staffs that they dont really care the visitors with Asian look excluding the rich chinese. Once I had a dinner in restaurant the waitress put me in low priority rather than caucasian tourist.. I really so sad this happened in my home country..

Your in a national park area so accomodations are at a minimum.
The rooms are basic but clean. No air conditioning, there is a switch to turn on a fan but its super loud.
The rooms are not very well ventilated, and kind of smelled like baby poop. There is wifi in the restaurant area.

We initially went here because it is the only hotel in Bukit Lawang with air conditioning. Turns out that's completely unnecessary - the weather around here is perfect for only having a fan. The rooms are overpriced (450,000 for a/c room), and the hotel is also the furthest out from the center of town.

What really got to me is that the staff is disingenuous. When we arrived we immediately inquired about wifi availability - they told us that it is down, in the whole town in fact. The staff, and the guide hung around the place trying to sell us tours both said that one internet line ran into Bukit Lawang, and when it's down in Rindu Alam it's down everywhere. We stayed the night and went into town the next afternoon, and lo and behold internet was available virtually everywhere else!! It was too late to check out that day, so there went a half million more rupiah down the drain, at this soulless, overpriced hotel without wifi.

One more thing happened. A large party of Indonesians arrived on the second night and partied - loudly - until morning light. At around six in the morning, having lost most of a night of sleep, I stormed to the staff and asked them to shut down the festivities, and they did...for about five minutes. So much for that. We packed our bags and beat a hasty retreat to a far better, friendlier, and wifi-connected establishment in town, the Orangutan Hotel.

The one thing I liked about this hotel was that breakfast was tasty, if you HAVE to be here, try their nasi goreng.

We stayed two nights at the Rindu Alam Hotel in Bukit Lawang, and that was more than enough. Not that there were issues that were really unacceptable but the hotel lacks atmosphere. If there are several coach parties simultaneously at the hotel it is busy and you have to wait a long time for your supper and breakfast. If the next day they left and there are only 2 or 3 rooms occupied in the whole hotel, it gives an abandoned impression.
Positive is the good location, near a suspension bridge over the river and access to the jungle.
The rooms are very spacious and the floor is clean. The sheets are also clean and the two beds are neatly made. In the ceiling, there is a hole, apparently due to a leak in the roof and the resulting continuous water seepage. They are working on the roof so that should be resolved in the future. The fan is effective but noisy. There are no mosquito nets and given the proximity of the jungle and the moist environment that's a loss. The bathroom is simple with a shower with “hot” and cold water (yes, we had warmish water!), a toilet with cistern and washbasin with mirror. However, there is no shower curtain so when you take a shower the whole bathroom is flooded.
Lunch and dinner in the restaurant are ok, but sometimes you have to wait long. If you dinner with two and both ordered something different, it may very well occur that one has finished his/her meal while the other is still waiting. Those can obviously much better. The breakfast is simple and you don’t have lots of choice. I.e., you can choose between coffee or tea, and the rest is standard: toast, eggs and fruit. The staff is occurring and friendly as mostly in Indonesia.
The hotel is not bad though there are certainly better alternatives in Bukit Lawang. It mostly lacks charisma, authenticity and emotion.

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the national park to experience the wildlife. The hotel has no hot water and air condition. Rooms are very unpleasant with cold fluorescent lights. Many ants in the room and spots on the blankets. There are no places to sit outside. Breakfast is three pieces of white bread with jam and an egg. Wifi doesn't work at all. However, the staff was friendly and the hotel is close to the trails leading into the jungle. The Wisma hotel located nearby is a better choice.
