Large pike, lake trout, and abundant walleye make for great fishing. Have stayed in three of the four cabins, each one unique, all with beautiful views. Enjoy the extra portage lakes. Have been to the island four times and each visit was perfect, can't wait till the next trip.

Great fishing and excellent hospitality! I would recommend to my friends. Many overall improvements every year. Nice docks! Multiple lakes to portage to. Boats and motors were fine. I really appreciated the fish cleaning. Many shore cabin walleye lunches!

One of the many visits to VI. Now with new owners - Vito and Dale! Great job! Really relaxing vacation! Dave does good job as " deck hand". The ladies baked us pie ! Oh, so tasty! The welcome dinner/get together was a nice touch! Couple suggestions! Better coordination of the flights! It would be nice to have a light... More

Everything as advertised and hoped for...great hosts, fishing , adventure and accommodations. We're booking our third trip back! We portaged to several lakes that probably see no more than 10 fisherman a year, and the walleyes and northerns will hit on anything!

This was my second trip to Viking Island and I am planning to go in 2017. It is a perfect place for fishing, with the 9 remote lakes, no one there, and very easy to fish. The new owners have made many improvements and provide any assistance they can. In 2016 the fishing was truly amazing. My fishing partner and... More

The fishing on Douglas Lake is excellent. Lots of walleyes and northerns. Some did a portage to other lakes and had great fishing success. Boats are on the portages, just waiting to be used. The accommodations are great. Full kitchen, bbq's on the deck, comfortable beds, great fishing boats, very clean outhouses for your use AND full indoor bathroom facilities... More

Camp was great, new docks were nice, support staff very helpful. Cabins always nice. This was one of many trips to the island, and intend on coming back. Had motor issues at Peterson, other than that all portage lakes were smooth sailing. New regs on keeping fish was unclear at first, but that was rectified as the week progressed. All... More

We slowly trolled north past Two Dave's Point in route to the Boy Scout cabin with it's teal painted doors — The eagle watched us from about 200 yards off to the west—it's giant nest a bit further to the north, a stone's throw from where the sentinel perched on the highest tree. The Perchy Sparkle Tails lost some battles,... More
