Having read previous review we were a little worried but we had a great stay. Parking wasn’t an issue we got a space on the road about 20 yards away. The room was great, this is a historic coaching inn so the floors are going to be a little uneven but it adds to the charm. Hair dryers, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, tea and coffee facility in the room (even a Krupp pod machine), the rooms were spotlessly clean with loads
of fluffy white towels. Had breakfast and an evening meal which were great. The staff were very helpful and accommodating making sure that we had a table reserved for our evening meal. All in all a great stay, thank you guys.

Excellent time from the moment we walked through the door until the time we signed out! Sam and Ethan made us welcome throughout the stay, nothing was too much trouble, these two young lads and the friendly staff showed a great attitude to keeping all customers happy. The food was fantastic and the chef catered for my wife's Coeliac dietary requirements with no fuss. The rooms were quaint and were furnished tastefully, plenty of tea, water, coffee and biscuits.... could have done with a better cooling device than the old fan, this was the one and only blemish. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay in a great location and enjoyed being in a homely environment with a great atmosphere all the time we were there. Will definitely be returning. Thanks to all who made our time so enjoyable.

Great place, value, breakfast and staff.

I booked and paid for the hotel for my visiting mother in law over Christmas.

The room was on the top floor. Way bigger than anticipated. No noise from the bar downstairs or other rooms. The bed, furnishings, carpet etc all new and looked good.

Staff very helpful before arrival and checking in.

Breakfast was ideal for a vegetarian and my mother in law talked with other guests and they said the full English fry up was great too.

We will book this venue again for other visitors and people visiting.

We recently visited the flower pot for a spot of lunch So we decided to head to the flower pot as we hadn’t indulged in a Sunday roast there before and it’s only a short walk from where we live.
As we arrived we were greeted kindly by the staff and shown to our table which we had booked in advance.
My wife and I ordered an Aperol spritz each to start with which were priced heavily at £10 each and we both agreed they tasted quite watered down and uninspiring.
We both ordered the trio of roasts which consisted of lamb, turkey and beef.
The lamb was delicious, the turkey also nice though I asked for some cranberry sauce to accompany my turkey but the waitress said they didn’t have any (sigh).
The beef however wasn’t to my taste and was very over-done though I persevered once smothered in their horseradish sauce.
The roast potatoes were good, Yorkshire pudding nice and the vegetables were sensational I must say.
All in all, not a bad roast at all depending on how you like your beef.
But here we come to the most disappointing part…

THE PUDDINGS

I ordered the warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice and and my wife ordered her long-time favourite sticky toffee pudding.
Both puddings were priced a bit high at £6.95 each but we thought “well as long as they are a decent portion and delicious then we can’t complain”.
So the puddings arrived and to our amazement they were very small compared to what we were expecting.
My chocolate brownie was tasty and sweet but was gone in a matter of 4 mouthfuls.
My wive’s sticky toffee pudding (if you can call it that) was nothing short of awful.
It appeared to not be home made at all and was more of a sponge cake with a crusty top.
Sauce was mediocre at best.
Both puddings were served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was yellow in colour.
Now the last time I had vanilla ice cream which was yellow in colour was when I was a kid and my mum would give us a scoop or two of bog standard walls ice cream from the tub.
The ice cream served to us was one and the same.
Every other pub or restaurant I have eaten at in the past 10 years have served white vanilla ice cream so I knew exactly what we were served and we wasn’t impressed one bit.
The waitress asked how our puddings were and I made my feelings clear and they responded with “well you ate it all” to which I replied “yes because they were very small servings”.
Nothing further was said.
I also ordered a Camden hells with my meal and the bill came to around £74.

So if you are to visit the flower pot for lunch, I would suggest that you avoid the cocktails and puddings, head straight for the roast and then you should be
satisfied and save around £25 off your final bill.

My partner and I here stayed here from Sunday to Friday and in that time we had to ask for the bedsheets to be changed. That night, far from having fresh linen, we discovered the bed had simply been made, not changed, so the following day we had to ask again. They were finally only changed for our last night there.
I’m sorry to have to say but the housekeeping here is terrible and next to nonexistent. Our bathroom bin was never emptied once during our 5 night stay! Additionally, used glasses which had brought up from the bar and were clearly dirty where never collected and removed.
Worst of all was probably the discovery of a toilet brush in our bathroom covered in faeces!
All in all, I’ve never encountered such problems with basic housekeeping at a hotel. The Flower Pot needs to take a very serious look into this issue immediately.

A well presented pub with rooms. Very clean and tidy with beautiful floral displays externally.
The staff here are excellent without exception everybody tried hard and there customer attention is a credit to the organisation.
Food menu was good, I had the Calzone which was very good but my wife had the roast chicken which was over cooked and had dried out.
We were taken to our room which involved climbing 2 sets of steep stairs. The room was a good size clean comfortable.
The sash window had been left open and was kept open by a log ( Yes a log from the fire) if this falls on somebody walking on the pavement below it would kill them.!!!!
The room had loads of flys buzzing around the centre lamp and the en-suite bathroom door.
It was not until we opened the door to the en-suite that we realised why there were so many flys, it was the smell of drains.
We went to bed having extracted the flys and closed the window, as it was hot we turned on the fan which was fine to begin with we just got to sleep and was woken by a load rattle from the fan, that continued if we left the fan running. Then trying to get back to sleep it was obvious the the drain smell was getting worse, that coupled with the frequent noise of a pump or compressor in the loft made sleeping difficult.
Avoid room 7 .

We had a pleasant stay here at The Flower Pot, room was spotless, tea and coffee, bottled water and biscuits. We have stayed in some luxurious hotels and not been provided water! We had a great stay, very peaceful sleep, comfortable bed. Power shower and lots of clean towels. Very good breakfast included in the price. Good value. Sam was a great host. We liked there was an external key provided so you didn't have to walk in and out through the pub to your room. We shall be back for another stay soon

We chose to start here as we had stayed before and used to live locally.
The room was very tired and poorly equipped in the bathroom, almost empty shower gel and hand soap.
Bed was comfortable and towels lovely.
The room was very cold despite having a radiator and supplementary heating being provided.
The bathroom appeared clean however smelt very damp and was exceptionally cold.
The breakfast choice was poor, on our first morning we waited 45 minutes for food! It was of poor quality and very greasy.
The staff were all friendly and polite however seemed to spend most of their time apologising for a variety of problems.
Late at night it seemed overrun with young noisy drinkers.

My friend and I had lunch today at the Flowerpot. We ordered sea bass and chips. A single sea bass fillet had been cut into four triangles and we were each given two of these pieces. To add insult to injury these tiny pieces were total over cooked. The tiny portion of chips were also over cooked. We were charged £29.90 for this disgrace. Please do not eat at this establishment.

The bed was very uncomfortable, the room was very warm even with the windows open and fan on. The bath leaked all over the floor - bathmat was wet on arrival which we thought may have been dirty from previous customer but wonder if the bath had just leaked on this. Rusty toiletries holder in bathroom. The room could do with a bit of tlc - stains on the headboard and floor, paint peeling off etc. The room was noisy with music from downstairs until about 12.15am.

The shower was very powerful. Breakfast was superb with wonderful staff and service. The decor was lovely in particular the light and bath.
