The NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa is a unique, luxury hotel located on the historical island of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon. Close to Piazza San Marco and Ponte di Rialto, the building was formerly the De Majo glass factory, famous for producing hand-blown Murano glass. Result of long study and desire to visit Venice. Arrived at rail station and travelled to hotel by water taxi arranged by hotel (€80 cash). Excellent reception. Rooms in Venice can be modest in size and this was no exception, but was fully made up for by provision of large terrace, which made all the difference. Terrace had table and chairs and shaded mini sofa. Facilities included large walk in shower (no bath) and bidet, safe, kettle and Levazzo coffee maker. Soap and shampoo were in dispensing bottles, so you cannot take them home. Housekeeping was a little miserly with replacement tablet soap, coffee pods and shower caps. In intense heat AC worked well but dripped. Evening meal was adequate. Breakfast was excellent. Generally hotel had some couples and family traffic but Clarins had a conference running some for the time we were there. Hotel provided a scheduled shuttle service at €6.50pp rtn to St Mark's area, which was excellent compared to water buses. Murano itself is much quieter than Venice and is better for it. If we were returning, unlikely, would certainly consider this hotel.

Of the only two hotels on Murano, this one is the better deal. Still new when we visited, this renovated glass factory felt – oddly enough – a bit too clean, design-wise. Since it was the end of June, the hotel seemed fully staffed, although the 100 or so rooms were far from fully occupied, yet. This led to amusing scenes of the staff chatting among themselves, in an animated Italian way. Anyway, we lacked nothing and the service was very friendly.

We first stayed in a room with park view. We were a bit worried that youngsters in the park would keep us awake, but that turned out to be unfounded as the park closes at night. On the other hand, the park view added little extra, as it turned out to be just a play park for young children.

The Navagero vaporetto stop is just around the corner. In fact, the distance you could potentially walk across the hotel grounds is the same as the distance alongside the canal to the vaporetto.

The longitudinal layout of the hotel makes it easy to miss the lobby bar, and we did. The terrace, on the other hand, is not to be missed, as it offers a free and unobstructed view of an uninhabited lagoon. It makes you wonder what the fuss is all about of Venice being overcrawled with tourists.

NH Collection Murano definitely feels a bit off the beaten track, quiet, relaxing, la vita e bella-vibe, yet at the same time up to standards with what you can expect from a four-star modern hotel – yet it is much better priced than lesser hotels on Venice island.

We had a lovely stay here over the Easter weekend, room and breakfast very good value for money and we enjoyed being away from the busyness of Venice. The room was exactly like the marketing photos. If you can cope with getting the vaporetto into venice / burano etc then this is a great location! Most of the staff extremely friendly however we found the man who worked in the restaurant during the day came off a bit rude and also said there was no food available on two occasions as it’s only a small kitchen despite the hotels website saying the snack bar is open. Apart from this all of the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.

£200 per night including breakfast. I expect better. Reception were always lovely and helpful. BUT, our safe didn’t work and we reported in on the night we got there. Four days later and despite a visit from a technical man it still wasn’t working. People DO USE THESE things to keep their property safe (passports and so on) and its particularly important when the door to the room doesn’t shut properly either. We came back to our room on two different days to find the door was open. After a while, we realised we needed to pull the door too when leaving the room to ensure it kept shut properly - shouldn’t need to happen. Breakfast only OK but please put a bit of thought into the buffet. For example, put the butter and bread near the toaster, not at the other end of the spread. Finally, please ALWAYS ask the guests if they want coffee or tea - we shouldn’t have to wait and to catch the eye of someone to ask.

So many of the points that have been highlighted in previous reviews are coming to light. One is Air con. Its a big problem. The system is not able to keep the rooms at low temperature. I’m now covered in Mosquito bites. Asked for the AC to be checked and I think it has, but no change. Under the bed clothes in this heat😩😜. So if you’re prone to insect bites. Beware.

The room is ‘clean’ but I can see the numerous hand prints on the wardrobes and windows from previous guests, obviously Covid doesn’t exist anymore. Not Covid clean.

Breakfast is Ok. Not as many items available as some other places we’ve stayed, however the biggest issue is that the hotel is greatly understaffed. The people that work here do all they can, but it’s just impossible to do everything that’s required of them, because the hotel is bigger than they can cope with. There was further evidence of this last night when there was a ‘meet and greet’ on the terrace bar. Very nice. But it soon became apparent that the staff couldn’t cope. We sat on the upper level, looking out over the lagoon with almost all the tables strewn with empties for well over an hour and no sign of the tables being cleared or cleaned for hotel guests.
I get really angry that hoteliers are happy to take our money, claiming to provide a certain service level, but constantly fail to deliver on this.
I MIGHT get a very nice response say they are sorry that they failed to do this, but they’ll still take my money and say thank you very much.

I have to make a special mention to Irene on the front desk, who went the extra mile to sort out the issues we had . Thank you so much.

A most beautiful and impressive, no expense spared, modern conversion of an old glass factory.
We chose a Junior Suite overlooking the lagoon, well designed and equipped. Our only disappointment was the over-bath shower rather than a separate one. However, for guests planning a 7 night stay in a premium room, one would have thought a careful pre-arrival check of the overall presentation and functioning of the room would have taken place.
One of the window curtains was half off its hooks, the bath shower mixer tap was impossible to turn to bath (incorrectly fitted which I myself fixed) and the room was really hot and stuffy. Venice was extremely hot at the time and I suspect the room had been sitting with the air conditioning turned off. We found it impossible to set the aircon below 19c on the dial, which made very little progress in cooling the room at that setting. We spoke to reception and asked how to lower the temperature further and their response was that the air conditioning was fixed not to run below 19c. However, all the public areas were extremely cool and most certainly below 19c. I think this setting has been decided in order to save money! Our first 2 nights were not good and we resorted to opening the window to gain a cooling breeze from the lagoon. Unfortunately we found this also invited mosquitos into the room. After a couple of days with the air con running at full blast at 19c the room did start to feel more tolerable, but never as cool as the public areas. My feeling is that 19c may be okay for some of the rooms some of the time but our room had a ceiling that was also the roof covered with baking hot tiles. So one size does not fit all. We asked reception twice to rehang the curtain. Nothing happened and I eventually climbed onto a stool and did the job myself.
We found the staff generally helpful and enthusiastic but it was obvious that they were insufficient in number and not fully trained.
Consequently, the interior bar was never open which made this pleasant internal space an uninviting ‘dead’ area. The restaurant bar struggled and seemed unable to provide a service to the most lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the lagoon. Consequently, many guests ordered their drinks at the bar and carried them themselves up to the terrace. Not ideal.
On the plus side, breakfasts were well managed and good, after which many of the staff seemed to disappear.
Finally, we were not told on arrival that we were welcome to use all the facilities of other NH Hotels in Venice during our stay - it would have been nice to know.
We would consider the hotel again since we so much liked the location (Murano is quiet and pleasant in the evenings) plus the architecture and furnishings of the property with its understated entrance. But we will carefully read recent reports first to see if they have upped their game.

Absolutely stunning hotel, beautiful views and maintained to an excellent standards. The hotel is clean and rooms are beautiful. The service is great, and food delicious. It’s air conditioned everywhere so you can feel the difference as you walk into the hotel and room. I would highly recommend if you are looking to stay away from the buzz of central Venice. It’s incredibly easy to get from the airport, follow sign to water transport. Love this beautiful hotel.

This hotel is stunning and so unique to Murano as it’s a converted glass blowing factory. The location is great as it’s just around the corner from a water bus stop so you can easily get into Venice in 15-20 mins and there are a couple of nice restaurants and lots of glass shops nearby. The room was immaculate with a very comfortable bed and gorgeous bathroom, the TV is a smart TV but cannot connect to Apple devices, which would be my only constructive comment, but really not a big deal at all. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed having a glass of wine in the garden bar, highly recommend for a luxurious experience that’s great value for money and escapes the business of staying on Venice.

Stayed at this hotel immediately after a cruise. The hotel is in a great location on Murano island, much quieter and less crowded than Venice. A short water taxi ride takes you to St. Marks. Buy your water taxi tickets from the tobacco shop a short walk from the hotel. The rooms are very modern and clean. I was on the bottom floor a short walk from the lobby and restaurant. The breakfast was plentiful and the staff throughout the property were helpful and knowledgeable.

My only complaint was the shower. There was no way to keep the water in the shower and it went all over the floor. Everything else was perfect and I will send other travelers to the NH Murano.

Our stay was absolutely faultless. The team (especially Elisabetta) were so attentive, polite and incredible.

Food:
Breakfast was great! A wide range of hot breakfast, pastries, breads, cereal and even Prosecco!
We had dinner at the hotel one night and were pleasantly surprised. Apart from weekends, not many restaurants are open in Murano in the evenings but the hotel food was delicious - defo recommend in the week if you don’t fancy travelling to Venice.

Location:
One stop on the blue/red line from the airport took only 15 minutes. Also situation right near public transport and the hotel also offered a shuttle service to Venice and back twice a day.

Room/Hotel:
Hotel was so clean and modern we had nothing to complain about. The room was spacious and had incredible views of the water. AC could have gone slightly colder but was still fine and not hot at night.

Extras:
We had arranged a proposal dinner with Elisabetta as a surprise for my partner on the pier. This was truly fantastic. The team decorated it to perfection with tables, flowers and candles and it surpassed all expectations.
We received a free upgrade to a water view (a must) and my partner received a free gift on arrival which was a lovely touch.

All in all it was one of the best places we’ve stayed and will without a doubt be returning again in the future.
