The hotel changed name into Stella hotel. Beautifully located with view on the lake. Decent room & bathroom, good food in the restaurant. We arrived late evening: not too late for a nice dinner of Tilapia & chips. very friendly staff!

The staff were friendly but, the food was very slow to arrive and not a particularly good meal either. The most memorable part of the hotel was the parrot who can imitate to the sound of an incoming text message from a Samsung mobile phone!

The view of the lake from the pool is possibly Bukoba's best, but after your sundowner, please find somewhere else to eat. I ordered fish and was served something brown (probably lodged at the bottom of the the freezer). It was totally inedible. The replacement 'grilled' chicken was fried hard in ancient oil and consisted of a few bony scraps....

Goggled Bukoba Hotels and Walkgard pictures especially of the rooms was very impressive and based on this I booked my stay. Was very disappointed by the rooms - the pictures on the website was of rooms in some other hotels and not the reality, filthy carpets, dingy bathrooms, dirty wardropes, no internet even when it was stated on their website!!...

You will experience the most beautiful view of the lake from the hotel. The rooms are small but very clean on the downside the rooms are carpet which is not one of the best things to have in a hotel room cause of dust. The staff and in particular the manager are very friendly and helpful. I felt for the...

Lovely views.... Rooms were clean and nice. Room service, meals and Dinners were good. Hotel managers and staff were very helpful with advice. A good spot to relax ...though swimming pool was out of action during our second stay. A good place to stay, though not heaps to do in town.

We didn't stay at the hotel because we were staying with friends, but we toured the rooms and had an excellent meal. The cook there is excellent and prepared several delicious Indian dishes. The view from the outdoor restaurant over Lake Victoria at sunset was world class. It was absolutely incredible. Service was a bit slow, but we weren't in...

The hotel might not be the greatest but considering you are in Bukoba... it is decent. The rooms are tiny but clean. Facilities are lacking but staff are extremely friendly. The walk down to the town is beautiful!

The facility looks good. Its meals are fair and their service is average, even though a cup of coffee could take 45 minutes to serve, when we were only 2 Guests in the Restaurant! The management should think of refurbishing their swimming pool which is out of order.

Walkgard managed to amaze me on the great view of the lake, amazing multicultural food, clean and quiet surrounding, and exceptional service. My family and I were there for 5 nights, we stay at their downtown hotel 1 night and the rest at the hill top. Both places were very nice with two different atmosphere. Their tourism service to the...
