Sani Mountain Lodge was our absolute saviour! We had planned to drive from Sehlabathebe National Park to Sani Pass and back into South Africa but terrible roads meant our trip was much longer than expected and we didn't make it to the border post in time. We arrived at Sani Mountain Lodge at around 8pm and although there were no...

After a grueling heart pumping breath taking ride up Sani pass the reward of this gem is so worth it. The views are as far as the eye can see the air seem so clean and has a bit of chill but nothing beats those pub meals and beers to make sure that homely feel is brought right back to...

When arriving at the Lodge after travelling the Sani Pass it was a big surprise to see this lovely place on top of the mountains. The accommodation consisted of individual huts with an ensuite, king size bed, cozy Cnr to sit near the fireplace this they lit for us in the evening. The lodge has great character inside with good food...

After a long off road trip to the top of the Sani Pass this is a great place to stay the night and have a glass by the fire in the highest pub in South Africa! The staff are friendly food is all home cooked and delicious. We stayed over in a rondel house with a coal fire lit to...

Being the only lodge nearby, they tend to overprice their service. They are in the position to overprice, being the only lodge/restaurant/holding the title «highest pub in Africa», but the service is just bad and unprofessional. We started early in the morning with the Sani pass and wanted to eat breakfast at this lodge. First one waiter said the buffet...

We visited this pub on a pre booked day trip from Durban. It is alleged to be the highest pub in Africa and I did not see anything to contradict that. The tour minibus driver collected us at 5.40am at our Durban hotel and we drove to Underberg where we rested while being transferred to a 4 wheel drive with...

Well I didn't stay there overnight, so I am not going to comment on the lodge itself, but the lodge does have the highest pub in Africa, which is really a cool photo moment when you are standing in front of the sign! The food is fairly western, like burger and steak and I found the beer price is reasonable...

"Golden Oldie" going up Sani Pass throught the last few corners, the border post, then a cold Maluti beer at the highest pub in Africa (registerd pub) awsome. Looking down the pass from the deck is just Africa. We slept in the Backpackers, clean rooms, clean bathrooms with hot showers and toilets. Nice equipped kitchen with fridge and stoves, and...

The location is simply breathtaking and any photographers dream and that in itself makes it 100% worth while to visit. The track up the pass is an exhilarating drive or hike for the super fit. Unfortunately our whole experience with the lodge was somewhat of a disaster. From reservation stage right through we had issues. We were sent incorrect rates...
