Blanco's Hotel & Restaurant offers an experience that, while praised for its friendly staff and engaging music events, suffers from inconsistent reviews. Travelers appreciate clean rooms with comfortable furnishings, yet some have encountered maintenance and cleanliness issues. Despite a satisfactory array of amenities and a convenient location, guests often express that the value doesn't meet expectations, particularly criticizing the subpar food and breakfast offerings. Overall, the hotel presents a mixed bag, with areas in need of updates and improvements to match its positives.

Booked The Blanco's Hotel for a Weekend Away (Two Nights) I have read some reviews on Trip Advisor prior to my stay and decided to take the hotel face value.

Upon arrival I found that the Hotel has ample parking both back and front the check in procedure was quick and easy aided by a polite member of staff who explained Restaurant and Breakfast Times Etc Etc.

The room on the first floor was easy to got too and was clean and tidy with the usual Widescreen Tv Hairdryer Air Con and Hot Drink Making Facilities WiFi was free and was very good.

We had booked a table in the Hotels Restaurant for the first night and the food was of a good standard and well prepared the same goes for the Breakfast the following morning A Full English with the staff on both occasions being polite and helpful .

The second night the hotel had put on a singer and she was very good singing an array of songs.
Check out was also quick and easy

Stayed here for a weekend with two brilliant cabarets, Jason Curvis one of the best entertainers in Wales, and Smooth Operator, a six piece band. Check in was easy and both receptionists were friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless we set the air conditioned heater to 25 degrees and set the fan to "quiet" no problem with noise or overheating all night. Breakfast was all you can eat with a good selection of full English, cereals, Yoghurt and fresh fruit, I had the full English which was excellent. Bar prices are reasonable with a good choice of lagers and spirits, I am a beer drinker and the only beer they had was IPA, a very tasty beer, you could almost taste the extra hops it is brewed with. We ate at the hotel both nights and have no complaints whatsoever about the quality or quantity of the food. Bar staff, as are all staff we met, were very polite and welcoming we will definitely be returning in the new year.

Honestly I was very very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Blanco's after reading the reviews. We were a family of 4 going to a local party and decided to book this hotel as there wasn't much option in Port Talbot. I didn't read the reviews until we were travelling down and wanted to turn around but we didnt. When we arrived at the hotel we didn't think we were in the right hotel it was decorated lovely, spotless and very welcoming. The ladies on the reception were amazing we had a problem with my card and the matter was resolved quickly. They could see we were in a rush and checked us in swiftly even offering to arrange food to the room before our pick up in 30 minutes. The room was amazing we had just stayed in Liverpool for 2 nights in the Premier Inn and it was like staying in the Hilton, rooms very clean, bedding spotless, Bathrooms spotless and so big it was more like a suite also great selection of toiletries and tea/coffee/ biscuits. For £135 for 2 x Adults plus 2 Children it was excellent value breakfast included and was very good. Thank you for a very welcoming, warm comfortable stay the staff couldn't do enough for you and a 24 hour bar!

We were a party of 8 people. All Paid £110 for an advertised 3 course meal, a nights stay with breakfast and to see an Olly Murs tribute act.
First of all the positives, the tribute act was very good. The room was good and very clean. The food was average. There it goes downhill, the evening had been relocated to the conservatory, which does not lend itself to a good atmosphere. We were placed to sit in the corner of the room where the view of the singer was good, if you wanted to see the back of his head. We complained and they said we could move, however, the only table with 8 seats had reserved on it. The bar ran out of lager and the staff couldn’t even open a bottle of champagne and on times were non too pleasant. The meal had been downgraded to 2 course, however, leaflets still in our room still advertising 3 course. To finish it off the toilets were flooded. All in all not a pleasant experience. We complained to the receptionist the next morning (and were not the only ones) and at one point she flounced off in a little hissy fit, which was extremely unprofessional. We have attended Blancos on many occasions having had birthday parties etc and have stayed for lots of Boxing night parties. We complained in writing and was offered £10 back per couple! Sadly, we will not be returning for our normal Boxing night stay as we found the attitude to our complaints extremely unconcerned and disappointing. We are not people who complain unnecessarily. I have given 2 stars fir the room.

Only lived in Port talbot 18 moths and been renovating a property so not really had time to eat out much but have been here 6 times plus new Year eve, the service and food is usually good but the last two visits have not been. We booked to take advantage of the government £10 discount offer and expected really good COVID protection but felt really let down, although there was hand sanitiser on the entry it did not tke long to see the shortcomings... several children most sat and behaving but on the table opposite the older of the two children around 8 years old was licking the table number cards which were not being cleaned between guest as we saw tables being wiped down plus this child was allowed to walk around the restaurant far too freely. We received our drinks on arrival but after waiting for another 25mins and still, our order had not been taken and later arrivals had had there order taken we paid for our drinks and left. The last visit before the lockdown had the worst streak ever really grisly and fatty. I think all writers should be wearing face shields or masks none at Blanco's were... I know in wales its not compulsory but most of the UK it is and would make good sense especially for older dinners. Won't be going back again until COVID is over or a vaccine has been introduced. I just feel a higher-end restaurant would be offering really good COVID protection but I've seen better at small cafes in the high stree.

Blancos is a restaurant that we have always gone to and enjoyed beautiful food with family and friends. We booked Blancos as a birthday meal since reopening with covid-19 and sadly we’re all very disappointed with the service. The food was average and very limited desert menu available due to circumstances which is understandable. However they are charging more money for 2 courses, and have other competitors which are serving delicious food with excellent service. The desert was cold, table was shabby and scratched and staff really needed to undertake additional training. The staff were very rude, and everything was a chore to them when asking for anything additional sauce, straw etc. We also asked for cutlery with our desert, (obviously not going to eat with our hands) of which one of the staff said ‘ what a spoon’? Really unprofessional behaviour and definitely need to touch up on table manners. Such a shame as we loved coming here, would not visit and not recommend it to anyone unless you want terrible food and service for high price. A lot of other competitors have so much more to offer than this restaurant.

Following a recent Sunday lunch we decided to stay for a weekend.
We arrived to check in given a room located on ground floor which was grateful for as lift not operating
Room was tidy and comfortable.
We was asked if we would be eTing on restraunt I said not sure was told no problem if we decided during our stay just to either ring reception or call to the desk to reserve a table great.
Sat morning breakfast well it was not great scrambled powdered eggs soggy and not nice bacon boiled mushrooms tasteless uncooked tomatoes, beans and cheap sausage toast if you wanted you had to put in toaster and wait about 10 mins for it food was far from hot not good for a hotel.

First night we ate out however sat night we decided to stay in hotel as driving on the Sunday went to reception asked to book a tab e to be told sorry no food tonight!! The lady Checked with a very snooty rude reception person who thought she was way above her station and the answer was no way I said to tge lady thank you walked away disgusted now I don't know the area so resorted to buying snacks to eat that evening and a snacks from local supermarket.
Anyway got back to hotel to find out the owner was putting on a rugby party. No seating left for hotel guests it was grab a chair in tge corner out of the way really made you want to stay at this place they had what looked like a roast dinner, but hotel guest left with nothing bar staff now that was an experience
Firstly asked for bitter was told they had IPA I looked amazed at tge lad and informed him that Indian pale ale I otherwise a light lager at which he replied oh well no then so I had a thatchers cider not what I wanted but still later decided on pernod and black I was greeted with a what!! He did not know what it was an experienced person told him it was down on the end he tgen asked what black was I explained blackcurrant but I also asked for Southern comfort with bitter lemon was given after 4 times of telling lemon tonic I was utterly amazed at the lack of training being given to staff and they had no notes had change given to me in ten pound of 50 ps and 5ps was not happy I promptly used that on next round so on the whole not exactly what I would call a guest friendly place more a run of mill working men's place with rooms to stay certainly not 3/4 star as the plaque outside suggests more 1 to 2 star very basic

Checked in for a two night break, the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, as usual the room was spotless and well stocked with tea and coffee. Sunday lunch was excellent and was followed by a cabaret, The hat and the fiddle band, four fabulous musicians and one of the best bands around. all the staff that we met were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. we ate in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, very large potions. Breakfast was buffet style with something for everyone, cereals, full English, toast, jam and marmalade, yoghurt and a selection of fruit and juices as well as tea and coffee. I must add our thanks to Sean and Wendy who went above and beyond to help us. Would not hesitate to recommend as we booked another two night break before we left.

Just spent the weekend at Blanco’s Hotel for my sons wedding. Check in staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with my room (53) it was immaculate the cleaners deserve a big pat on the back it’s not very often that they get praise. Breakfast was hot and tasty and again the staff were very efficient.
I must also say a big thank you to the wedding planner (Emma) everything went as planned the food was excellent and everybody was asked if they wanted more veg, gravy etc. All our family thought it was a fabulous venue and would recommend to others no problem. Thank you Blanco’s for making my son and daughter in laws wedding so memorable.

I was a bit put off by the name and affordable price but was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and service. My room was spotless, spacious and I eventually found the hairdryer. My only gripe was the bed wasn’t the comfiest.

Evening meal was good (salmon) and breakfast ok though I would have liked a few more healthy and up to date options - granola, natural yoghurt, non dairy milk and vegetarian sausages would’ve been nice.

The service - receptionist, bar staff and breakfast team was brilliant. Super helpful and so, so friendly it overcame any tiny shortcomings.

Thank you Blanco’s.

If you ring hotel and specifically ask for those requirements, they have some lovely rooms that will surely accommodate you for your brother's stay. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but only arrived home from holiday in the early hours. Please ask me if you need any further advice. Hope your brother's visit is as pleasant as we experienced. It was amazing from the start of our visit to leaving. The food is more than plentiful.
