Went on a really nice festive weekend break to Potters Five Lakes. The staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we exceptional, Beth in the restaurant, rushed of her feet, but always making her way through the dining room with a smile. The food was excellent and plentiful and drinks for all inclusive had a fair selection, although the last night the entertainments team were delivering drinks and it took 40 minutes, which wasn't great.
The shows in the evening were good but the stage is crying out for a live band which would allow a little more interaction opposed to singing along to continuous backing tracks.
In my opinion, it's the little things that stop Potters Fives Lakes being rated Excellent. In the bathroom the toilet flush had clearly been replaced as the old hole was still visible, add small metal plate to finish the job. The plastic cover on the towel rail connections had been taped and taped again, replace it.
If I'm paying £350+ a night, per couple, for a three night stay to rate Potters Five Lakes as Excellent they need to get everything right, which I'm sure they will and I look forward to returning one day and rating Potters Five Lakes Excellent.

We've stayed at Hopton many times over the years and always had a fantastic time, so thought we'd try the new Five Lakes Resort. We stayed 29th July to 1st August. We decided to stay in the hotel as my partner has a few mobility issues and wanted to be near everything. Right from checking in on Friday through to leaving on Monday morning we couldn't fault anything. Considering Five Lakes has only been open for about 12 weeks they've done an amazing job! It's very evident to see how the refurbishment is currently ongoing, but it doesn't affect the guests at all. Potters should be congratulated on that. Our room was lovely, and the maid service each morning is excellent. They change the towels, leave fresh bottles of water in the fridge, and top up the tea, coffees, milk etc, although you can always get extras at reception. The all inclusive is truly brilliant! You don't have to spend a penny once you walk through the door on arrival day, as from 3pm on arrival day all drinks of every kind are free. There is a great system in place where you find a table, go to an order point, tell them table number and what you want from a very extensive list of soft and alcoholic drinks, and a waiter or waitress will bring it to your table. It saved time in hanging around to be served at the bar. The meals in the restaurant are always first class right from breakfast through to late night supper. The entertainment is amazing, you wouldn't get better on a West end Stage!!Special mention to Johnny Mac, Micky Zany, Lauren, and all the others in the Potters Entertainment team, all of them were fabulous and circulated all the time around the resort to make sure everyone was having a good time. One thing I really enjoyed was the craft classes with Bex, they were great fun! We came away very happy and looking forward to our 5 day break back there in September, where I'm sure we will see evidence of yet more refurbishment at the resort. We'll done Potters!!

Booked for my birthday treat and was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the hotel section and has a king deluxe room on the second floor. Room and bed were comfortable with tea/coffee replenished daily, in Room safe, small fridge supplied with a couple of bottles of water.

The list of activities available were optional and there was always something to do or take part in. We did archery, boating in lake, 9 hole putting, yoga, swimming, karts and table tennis to name a few. Couldn't fit everything in on just a weekend.

The entertainment was first class with many entertainers and professional dancers. The shows were in the beautiful Glade Theatre were better than some I've seen in West End and I highly recommend.

Food and drink is all inclusive and of a decent standard. You are allocated the same table during your stay and it us partially waiter service or serve your self at the carvery. Wine only can be ordered at table so if you want anything else just get from bar and bring in with you.

Potters havent acquired this site very long but are in the process if improving abd were building an onsite shop. Very happy with our trip and plan to return soon.

Thank you to all the staff for great service.

Weekend away with my sister and decided to go the whole hog and booked a suite. Really nice and spacious, bedroom had a huge bed, two comfy chairs, desk/dressing table, tea and coffee station with fridge and a huge TV. The living room was well furnished had another TV, balcony and a fantastic view across the golf course. The bathroom had two sinks, a bath and separate shower. Oh and a second toilet off the living room.

The restaurant was very nicely set up and our allocated table was in a good spot. The food was very good with a choice of dishes served at the table from the menu and a buffet that served a roast every night plus another dish. There are four meals a day breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late supper should you still be up and hungry.

Potters are now fully inclusive and all drinks are therefore included. This does not mean dodgy brands you’ve never heard of, all good quality and mixers are branded and come in bottles not out of a tap.

Entertainment is great and is just as good as that delivered at Hopton. What is better though in my opinion is the Glade theatre. It is spacious, well furnished and air conditioned, and wherever you sit you get a good view of the spectacular stage. The ceiling is full of glittery lights it’s like being in a planetarium.

The activities to try your hand at are plentiful and we had a go at archery, air rifles, laser cley shooting and karting. The indoor sports hall has loads of games to try plus darts, table tennis, badminton and a dance studio. Just outside the garden bar is the orangery and there are loads of board games etc to be played. The swimming pool is very nice and the water is warm. There is a small sauna and steam room and a spa bath. Changing facilities are good.

Finally I would say that the staff are really friendly, everyone from the reception to the cleaning staff always say hello and have a smile for you. Well done Potters Five Lakes, I shall be back!

Ok we have been to five lakes prior to Potters resorts taking over and have always found the hotel complex suiting our needs.
Now it is an all inclusive resort it suits our needs beyond expectations.
We have always visited Five Lakes on golf breaks as being golfers that was the draw to the resort. However as golf breaks are no longer available we booked a potters resort all inclusive break for the weekend commencing Friday 1st July what an eye opener. We arrived early on the Friday as we had booked a round on the lakes Course so we would finish at about 1530 therefore we could then book in and enjoy the AI facilities. It worked like clockwork Dave as usual was in the Pro shop and sorted our Tee times. The course was presented in a good order the greens were particularly good. So on completion we booked in without fuss and we had rooms in the golf Village area of the resort. lovely large rooms with all you would expect TV Tea/coffee, Safe Iron + Board fridge Hairdryer large bathroom with a separate shower and bath all in all a comfortable room. So after showering we went for a drink in the AI bar plenty on offer all good quality brands order from an ordering point delivery to your table by this time a singer had started the entertainment ! After a couple of pints and a freshen up we went for dinner we had an allocated table with a dedicated waiter Ben who was great throughout our stay Good menu swiftly served and enjoyed along with the wine. After dinner we went to the auditorium for the evening entertainment which was provided by the Potters Company very enjoyable along with one or two more drinks!! Well look there was a programme of entertainment for the rest of our stay we enjoyed many events further shows and of course many more AI drinks !! The staff were all superb the entertainment team work really hard and provide not only the evening entertainment but the numerous quizzes and daytime events so well done to them. Suffice to say we enjoyed our break played golf again but Monday Morning quickly arrived Great break thoroughly enjoyed by our group of four I for one will certainly return and would recommend for those who enjoy a break where you can do as much or little as you please with the added convenience of the All Inclusive meal and drink plan. Oh I forgot to mention the pool and spa !! I am sure when you visit you will find the them !!

We have just returned from our First visit to Five Lakes.
Upon arrival we parked up in one of the car parks and proceeded to Reception to collect our keys.
This would have been better if it was a similar layout to Hopton with collection of keys at the main arrival gate and being advised which car park to park in according to your room .
We stayed in The village rooms and just one pointer, you can drive round to be much closer if you want to but the spaces are first come first serve.
The grounds are well kept and our room overlooked the golf course which was nice and quiet and really quite lovely.
The rooms were of a good size clean and comfortable however could do with a fresh lick of paint sooner rather than later and new furniture in time.
We were allocated our table for the week in one of the restaurants it was probably one of the smallest tables we have ever sat at we were not sure if it had positioned it the wrong way round ? .
The food was very very nice a good selection (I would recommend the salmon )
We were however extremely disappointed with the waiter service especially at breakfast.
We would have to wait and almost chase a waiter round the restaurant to ask for water coffee/tea and toast ! We had a young waiter allocated to look after us (Joe) who really didn't seem to have a clue with customer service several times after we did get our toast or dessert it was completely wrong to what we had asked for and it almost got to the point where we thought oh crikey what's going to happen tonight! A little bit of mentoring with some of these new young employees wouldn't do any harm.
The Entertainment Team were fabulous but we didn't really think much to the I'm an Entertainer get me out of here on a Thursday afternoon it was really silly and I think you could do much better.

I special shout out to Dan Jones Jemma Mick Dundee and the Theatre Company who were absolutely fabulous .

Food was excellent service was ok,even though there were only two staff serving 72 covers the staff admitted they were understaffed There was no ventilation in the dining room except for some free standing fans, which were totally inadequate, with floor to ceiling glass exterior walls. It was unbearably hot ,even though the heatwave was over.

Entertainment was excellent, all the facilities were first class.

The accomodation, OH DEAR. The room was scruffy the furniture was worn, chipped and worn paintwork. The bathroom, the toilet roll holder and the shaving mirror were literally hanging off the wall, the toilet pan was really dirty with brown stains,it was so old the glaze was worn away. The shower curtain rail collapsed on the floor the first time we used it.

All the defects were reported to reception, the mirror etc were refixed immediately .
Nobody ever turned up to clean the toilet in fact nobody did any cleaning the four days we were there. There was brickdust all over the floor in the bathroom, after the refixing of the above items, that was never cleaned up.

All in all a very disappointing expensive experience.
At £300 per day I do not expect to have to attempt to clean dirty toilets.

Having previously stayed at Hopton on Sea, which was absolutely wonderful, all four of us were bitterly disappointed, and agreed we would not return to Five Lakes.
It was obviously opened prematurely, before the refurbishment was completed.

Have used the other Potters site at Hopton previously and always been impressed. Five Lakes is a site that they have taken over as a going concern and so some rooms do require updating, but are still in fair condition. Staff are amazing and Sam and Ben in our restaurant were the best waiting team I think we have ever had. Food was excellent with good choices and portions. The break was all inclusive , and there was a more than adequate drinks menu on offer, and going off that menu and purchasing something special wasn't expensive either. So what to do....well there's archery, rifle and pistol shooting, Segway's, electric bikes, and rowing boats, and of course golf outside. All except golf is on a turn up and wait basis. no booking and then having loads of people not turn up like Warner's. Inside there's live music in the bar, a spa, a games room laid out with chess draughts etc, a squash court, and an indoor games court with indoor bowls and loads of the sort of games you get at village fetes. The theatre is new, has a state of the art video wall and a dance company of at least nine, plus other entertainment staff. The show were excellent. There's an on site indoor pool, and also a spa. What sets it apart is the Potter family's management style. You will find one of the family directors around the site, tweaking things and talking to staff and guests alike. An excellent company offering excellent value and service. What's not to like. All rooms in the main hotel have air con, but the rooms in the "village" a short walk from the hotel block apparently do not.

Having gone to Potters Five Lakes on a weekend in July, we revisited for four nights in October, to enjoy the Halloween celebrations. We certainly were not disappointed.
There is an array of activities to enjoy, although, actually, we only played two rounds of golf, and a trip on the boating lake. This was enough for two seventy year olds.
The golf course was in good condition, and the attention and welcome we got from Pro Craig, David and Massie, plus an unnamed lad, was exceptional. We also took advantage of a one hour lesson with Craig, free, courtesy of being Potters residents. We can see golf here, becoming very popular with many two and four ball residents,
The food at Potters, here and at Hopton, is always good quality, and usually far too much, at least for those of us who need to keep a watchful eye on our weight. If we are to actually pick holes, but leave constructive criticism, it would be that the breakfast sausage skins are somewhat too thick to cut through and consume, and that the table knives need to be sharper. Other than this, there seems nothing to find further fault.
Inclusive drinks, needs no further comment, other than we were pleased to experience no unwanted drunken behavior throughout our stay. We saw no excessive drinking.
Next, we come onto the staff, too numerous to name, for their excellent attention to service with a smile. Indeed, it would be unfair to single out individuals, but you should all know that, you were each and every one of you, so much appreciated.
Entertaining personnel never cease to amaze us at Potters. The presenters, the singers and the dancers show energy levels to be envied, and never fail to entertain. Regarding the shows, held in that amazing theatre, one cannot praise them too highly. The shows were so professionally choreographed, the dancers so on point, and the singers so complimentary to the event, that nobody ever leaves disappointed. Also, we so much more preferred the drink ordering and table service arrangements, compared to Hopton.
Our room was very comfortable, and we are delighted to hear, that John Potter anticipates updating them to the standards set at Hopton.
If we missed anything or anybody, we should deeply apologise, given that all in all, we had a great time at Five Lakes. Indeed, our only disappointment, is that we need to wait till mid next year before we return, although that is something we may rectify in due course, while trying to find a window between various holidays abroad.
Many thanks Five Lakes, and all who sail in her, for a great break.

Entertainment was very good except for the infantile games played by the staff, prior to the main event, which involved each half of the audience competing with each other.
We hadn't expect 'Butlns' style self entertainment at the prices they charge.
Food was generally good but the poor waitresses were rushed off their feet.
Free drink service was good and very efficient with pre order stations in the bar and outside the theatre.
Bingo sessions were scheduled for 19:45 which was in the middle of the dinner service 18:30 -20:30. This resulted in the bingo players having to have an early dinner.
We did not eat the three meals a day. I suggest they could adopt a 'half board' option of Breakfast and evening meal or lunch, which might reduce the price !
Temperature control in our room had an explanation card above it which did not relate to the control. Furthermore when you removed your room key from the light switch control the heating also turned off !!! We left the spare key in the switch all day to keep the heating on.
Having weighed up the cost f the 4 night stay we decided we would not be returning. For a similar price we could have taken a 4 day cruise.

Never asked for alcohol at breakfast but if the bar is open just ask. It is certainly available in the entertainment bars which we visit after breakfast. You can WhatsApp them to email or call them to find out. All very helpful staff.
