Boutique Beach is designed, built and run by Romney Drury, a British diver, who loved this area so much, she gave up her job in the UK to be able to offer divers a wonderful experience for a much more economical price than previously possible in resort diving. The hotel offers 6 spacious, private rooms, 1 main restaurant and 1 roof top restaurant along with a very own Diving center with NITROX and whole range of excursions and opportunities to enjoy the natural Maldivian environment. Boutique Beach is located on Dhigurah which is in the famous whale shark area in the south Ari Atoll. The British Whale Shark conservation group, who are also based on Dhigurah, have recorded 268 whale sharks in our area, of which only 8 are female. Average length is 5.92m which makes them "teenagers." The whale sharks are there all year around, but some weather conditions makes them harder to spot. Mantas regularly feed in our lagoon as well as the famous cleaning station at Rangali which within easy reach. There are 15 deep reefs or Thilas in between Dhigurah and the next island. The famous Kudarah Thila is just 10 minutes away. Our PADI Dive Team will be happy to show you the best diving in the Maldives. We have a PADI instructor and a dive guide available on board together with a speedboat for smaller groups and further dive destinations. Our Dive center is the only place on the island where we have NITROX available.

This review comes half a year late, so my travel was before Covid-19 time. While dreaming of going back for diving I feel I want to give a special thanks to the team in Boutique Beach. Their internet pages described really well the surroundings and the diving hotel services. Everything was well organized, even us beginners felt safe all the time. Diving was great, and instructors and dive masters competent and caring. The owner, while creating her diving dream, gave us the opportunity to live our diving dream as well - everything was organized around diving in marvellous places. We all guests were asked what we would like to do, and we were listened to, so it was really a boutique experience. All the guests could express their wishes and we always found working solutions. We lived in the B&B section across the street to the hotel in a more modest but also more spacious family room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food was good and dinners were nicely set, with a Very Special New Year Eve set up on the beach - thank you lovely staff for taking the effort! The island is ”no alcohol” place, which was fully ok for us (even if we otherwise are wine lovers) as our living mostly concentrated on diving. The diving boats left some ten minutes walking distance from the hotel, and generally the guests were expected to walk there. All the equipment was taken care of by the staff. If walking was a problem due to health reasons, we once again were well taken care of. Hotel beach was simply great, only mosquitos were abundant in the shadow, so we did need our repellant. We saw mantas, whaleshark and so many other marvellous things. So highly recommended!

We have been diving during most of the shutdown and can report the reefs as extra full of fish life and even that our whale sharks seem to be missing their fans! Several times we have experienced whale sharks zooming right up to us and swimming along us peering at us as if they wondered where everyone has disappeared to! We have found new sites to dive and can report the mantas are also around now at a nearby cleaning station! My wife and I went to Maldives a few weeks ago for our Honeymoon and stayed at Boutique Beach All Inclusive Dive hotel. This place is awesome and perfectly caters to divers. As other reviews suggest, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were small compared to other resorts, but very well maintained. It almost felt like a small apartment, but fully furnished with dining area on the first floor.
All meals are prepared for the guests and lunch is prepared for the boat if dive schedule doesn’t allow a return back to hotel for lunch. All gears are handled by the staff from the time you check in until you check out. Gears are setup for you in the boat each day and rinsed/dried by your checkout date. The dive boat is very big and you can spread out comfortably without having to sit too close to other. The dive sites are picked out the day before and divers are briefed the night before. The staff also puts together a video from the clips gathered from each divers during the dives, which is a nice treat.
The rooms seem a little small at first, but you only use it to sleep after a full day of dives so a non issue. The restroom has no ceiling and opens up for you to see the clouds. The setup is really nice except for the mosquitoes that will prey on you during your stay.
The island (Dhigurah) the hotel I son is one of the farthest from Male so it’s an extra long trip, but well worth it. The cost is reasonable and the dive sites around the island are amazing. We were fortunate enough to see multiple whale sharks, manata rays, along with other marine life we don’t’ get to see back home (Los Angeles).
Lastly, I can’t say enough great things about the entire staff. Every single staff made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and memerable. Special thanks for Seb (instructor) for making all the dives enjoyable, Saeed (Dining Staff) for always greeting us with smile and fresh juice at every meal, and Shoag (Boat Hand), who’s playful gestures made our boat rides more enjoyable.

My daughter (21) and I stayed here for 6 days. We absolutely loved it here. We would recommend with the highest of ratings. The owner, Romney, was friendly, funny and very welcoming. We loved getting to know her. The food is outstanding, the rooms very comfortable with AC and a great outdoor shower. Beach Boutique fosters a community feel with nightly dive meetings, lots of fun on the boat which allows the divers to feel like a family in a short period of time. Lots of downtime in the afternoons to sit on the beach, wander the island, unwind/take a nap. They have the utmost respect for the local community, ensuring that the divers and local people can live harmoniously. The Wifi is incredible, no problems with connections, very fast, if you actually need to do some work from here. The best relaxing, organized place I have ever have the pleasure to dive. It has spoiled me forever! I can't wait to come back!

We discovered BB hotel in 2017 and were already impressed by the quality of the service and the way the help their visitors to feel well.
This time in covid situation we can only reconfirm that they manage hospitality perfectly well.
Food quality was very good with a each evening a 4 courses menu with a soup, a nice salad, a main course and finally a dessert.. my wife mentionned one time she doesn’t like fish and passion fruit and they systematically created an excellent alternative for her. (Even in 5 stars resorts they are not that good..)
We have been diving with them and their prices and knowledge of the area are excellent. They do not hesitate to bring you to the right place (most of them next to) if a longer discovery trip is needed to see something specific. We have seen so many things thanks to that. Whale sharks, Manta Ray, Dophins, Turtles, so many big fish (many sharks, barracuda, Thuna,...) and many small animals. Everything is well organized and structured so our time was spent to have fun. They fully take care of all the duties before, during and after each expedition.
We stayed afterwards into a luxury resort but our reservation got canceled last minute. The BB manager supported us to find another resort and within a day we had all things back on track. They just do it as it is totally obvious.
Last time we already rated 5/5 and this time they did even better with surpise dinner on the beach, island sandbank pic nic and a daily video compilation of the diving trip.
The complete team is very friendly and passionate. They all like what they do so you can only feel you are in the best place.
We will very probably be back to see if they keep raising the bar :)

Our stay at Boutique Beach was simply perfect. The staff took great care of us during our brief stay of 4 days, the dives were very well organized so that each guest would have the chance to dive in the best spots in the corner. The room was clean, big and with a very comfortable bed, and the food and fresh fruit juices prepared every day by the chefs were simply delicious.
The fact of having everything included allowed us to concentrate in just enjoying our dives and relaxing and chilling on the beach.
Special thanks for the lovely dinner the staff organized for us next to the beach to celebrate a special night :)
We'll definitely recommend to all our friends and relatives looking forward to organizing a trip to Maldives.

My boyfriend and I just returned home from a wonderful 5 days at Boutique Beach. Our experience from the moment I first sent an email to Azfal to enquire about booking to our departure, exceeded our expectations. We completed our Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications with Mette, and she was a fantastic instructor and guide. As new divers, she was patient with us and ensured that we were okay throughout every dive. The highlight was day 1 when we saw manta rays on both dives! By the end of our stay, we feel like much stronger and more confident divers. The entire dive crew is great at taking care of the equipment on board and ensure all safety procedures were completed. You'll be in excellent hands with them. The dive sites have much to offer for beginners like us as well as experienced divers. The hotel is also very nice. I liked that it was small and made for a more personalized experience. The chef catered to our vegan lifestyle with special items made just for us each meal (along with identifying the already vegan items prepared for everyone). I ate way too much this holiday, but it was all delicious! The rooms are spacious, the bed is huge, and the wifi connections is strong. Right across the street is a nice sandy beach to relax after a day of diving. We also managed to walk out to the sand bar one late afternoon and walk back as the sunset. Overall, I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time. I hope to return here again!

What was best in my 10 days stay at Boutique Beach Hotel? The diving! Incredibly beautiful dive spots with highlights such as Manta Point, whale shark sightings, wrecks, sharks on nearly every dive, turtles, rays, big schools of reef fish and lots of tiny creatures. Corals are recovering from the last El Nino, at some reefs more, at others less. The great dive center team Mette, Vicky, Amar and Flo presented every day a diving programme that suited everybody's preferences. 1, 2 or 3 dives a day, every now and then a full-day boat excursion. You feel always safe with BB Dive, also thanks to the very experienced local boat captain, who runs no risks and knows currents and conditions. The rented diving gear was excellent. Every evening at 7 pm everybody meets to review the photos and Videos of the day's dives and to discuss the programme for the next day. Nobody is left out, perfect also for single travellers. Then the food! The Chef from Sri Lanka knows how to meet everybody's taste, from the healthy fruit and salads, variable main courses and yummie desserts. On special demand he even made some very spicy curries... thank you very much! The kitchen and service crew war always very friendly and smiling. Last but not least the room! Very large bed, AC and fan, cupboard with safe and a nice open air shower. Very beautiful beach in front of the hotel where bikinis are allowed. For a stroll through the village or along the island proper clothes are required. From all my heart I recommend this hotel to divers who enjoy great diving, an easygoing small hotel where you get to know the other guests, good simple food and a breathtakingly beautiful island with a local community. I want to go back!

I can not imagine a better place to stay. We planned 2 weeks of holidays and ended up staying 3,5 weeks working and diving at BB. With Romney, Afzal and the service team, BB Dive has the most lovely, wonderful and competent team which did everything to make us happy and our stay unforgettable. The rooms are very nice, the most comfy big beds, with beautiful view into the trees and a unique open roof bathroom. The dive sites are simply breathtaking with a huge variety of marine life. Mette and the dive team are more than excellent and fun to dive with which made our daily excursions very special, happy and safe. It is a great experience to stay on an island with locals, having the possibility to take a walk or a run in the Jungle and experience island life. The food from chef Shanti is simply amazing, no matter if european or asian cuisine (and he is really good teacher if you want to learn so local recipies :-) ). We felt very safe with all the measures taken during the pandemic and everything very well organized. To make it short it is like staying with one big happy Dive Family.

We were a party of 5 adults who stayed at Boutique Beach in early November 2022. From the moment we arrived at Male airport, everything was well organized to ensure we made it Dhigurah. Upon arrival at the resort, the staff were all incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, especially Afzal, their manager.
The day of our arrival the dive crew worked with us to determine our watery adventure goals and made every effort to ensure they were achieved. My partner and I had originally planned to dive but an ear infection meant we ended up snorkeling. Our change in plans were well accommodated and we still were able to see a lot including whale sharks. Forewarning, going to see whale sharks is like Hol Chan in Belize or going on safari. Once something is spotted, ALL the boats show up and the water is crowded. Be prepared to be kicked in the face and dodge wayward limbs while trying to catch a glimpse of these beautiful creatures. That said they keep the diver:DM ratio low, even for snorkelers, on the boat so it doesn’t feel like a giant impersonal dive operation. The boat was very nice, was covered and included a toilet onboard and storage above the seats so items like towels stay drier. At least in the Caribbean, I can say this is not often the standard for dive boats.
Each night everyone gathered to plan for the next day and watch a video recap of the day’s diving before dinner. Speaking of food, allergies/preferences were accounted for (shoutout to Saeed for making strong coffee as my partner requested!) and the food was excellent; our party joked we’d like to fly the chef out to cook for us at home. Each meal was well timed and varied. You can even learn to cook from the chef, which I recommend everyone do. If they ever have a cookbook, I’d definitely buy it! They also provided a special bday dinner on the beach for us, which was very memorable.
The hotel rooms themselves are spacious, simple, clean and comfortable. If you’re American, remember to bring a converter for the outlets. The outdoor bathrooms were great for rinsing off gear if you choose to take it back with you from the dock (in case you want to snorkel across the street from the hotel), otherwise the hotel will clean/store your gear for the next day. We also each got a code to access the free wi-fi; I was able to call into a WebEx meeting where multiple people had cameras on and screens were being shared with no connection issues, so the signal was surprisingly strong.
Many of the guests at the hotel were repeat visitors, which after our stay, I can understand why. Boutique Beach checks all the boxes: it’s clean, safe, comfortable, great food, excellent hospitality and it’s affordable considering it’s full board w/ excursions. Even if you don’t plan on diving, it’s still a gem of a hotel with beach access. I just wish it was closer to where I live! Hopefully one day, we can return to this great dive hotel!

If you want an all inclusive but very high level diving holiday experience this hotel is for you! With only a few rooms you will always have the staff’s attention becoming friends by the time you leave. The rooms are super comfortable with an amazing bed and bathroom open to the air and they have a super chef preparing close to gourmet food every time. They have a boat going twice a day taking you out for diving and snorkelling, with snacks, tea and coffee and sometimes even lunch served during the search for the resident whale shark. The hotel is set in quiet, all natural surroundings of the unspoiled jungle with a little village of local people nearby. An impressive sandbank stretches for miles at the other end of this charming long shaped island where you can enjoy an unforgettable sunset. Highly recommended!

Laundry is available! We do not drink, so we did not pursue this. We did spend a second week on a resort island where there was alcohol available. Hope that helps.
Thats possible. During our stay in February there was a couple and only one of them was diving, the other one snorkeling. We saw Whale Sharks while snorkeling and diving. Some for the Mantas.

• Transfer prices stated in the contract are for 12 years above & adults only. Transfer prices include the Baggage allowance of 25 kg per passenger and hand luggage of 5 kg per passenger. Excess baggage will be charged directly to Villa Air and is subject to space availability and Terms and conditions of Villa Air.
• The hotel must receive full flight details at least 4 days prior to the arrival in order to guarantee the seats. Failure to do so may result in additional waiting time in Airport or overnight in Male at the clients additional cost.
• Flight times are confirmed 24 hours prior to the flight time and will be advised to the guests upon arrival.
• In extreme weather conditions transfer may not always be available at a designated time. The hotel is not liable for any compensation arising from such delays.
