Boutique Beach is designed, built and run by Romney Drury, a British diver, who loved this area so much, she gave up her job in the UK to be able to offer divers a wonderful experience for a much more economical price than previously possible in resort diving. The hotel offers 6 spacious, private rooms, 1 main restaurant and 1 roof top restaurant along with a very own Diving center with NITROX and whole range of excursions and opportunities to enjoy the natural Maldivian environment. Boutique Beach is located on Dhigurah which is in the famous whale shark area in the south Ari Atoll. The British Whale Shark conservation group, who are also based on Dhigurah, have recorded 268 whale sharks in our area, of which only 8 are female. Average length is 5.92m which makes them "teenagers." The whale sharks are there all year around, but some weather conditions makes them harder to spot. Mantas regularly feed in our lagoon as well as the famous cleaning station at Rangali which within easy reach. There are 15 deep reefs or Thilas in between Dhigurah and the next island. The famous Kudarah Thila is just 10 minutes away. Our PADI Dive Team will be happy to show you the best diving in the Maldives. We have a PADI instructor and a dive guide available on board together with a speedboat for smaller groups and further dive destinations. Our Dive center is the only place on the island where we have NITROX available.

I honestly do not even know where to begin to express my gratitude for all the lovely experiences I got to make with the team. The boutique beach hotel Dhigurah isn’t just a place to travel to for diving, it is a family that welcomes you with open arms and big smiles every day! They give their all to make your stay special and with nothing to miss out. 1. The room (we had one deluxe upstairs, with a balcony) was always clean, we slept like babies, the room and bathroom are big, there are additional towels to take to the beach, bottles for refilling with water, a thermo bottle for hot water to enjoy coffee or tee in the room, tee, coffee, even mosquito spray. The closet is big enough, a safe included. Additional place to stuff your things under the sofa in 2 drawers, there is a chair and a small table with drawer, two bedside tables and an armchair. Water, coffee, tee and Softdrinks are to your liking the whole time. But the best are the homemade fruit juices, presented with passion from saeed. Always happy to serve you. 2. The food. Chief shanti is the best cook I met throughout many travels. Even when you have special desires or want to eat vegetarian, extra spicy or whatever. He is happy to please. Fresh fruits, fresh salad, tasty curries and also some intercontinental surprises. And the soups made me wanting more. You can be proud to be his guest. 3. Diving! To be honest, I wouldn’t have expected it to be like this. In the evening you get a presentation of the next day’s plan and what to expect. If you have a special wish, let them know and they try to make it happen. We weren’t expecting to be so happy with getting up that early throughout the whole holiday, but it grew on us. After breakfast you get a ride to the boat in the harbor. The boat is big, spacious and comfortable. Every diver (or couple) gets a box where the equipment is stored and even gets cleaned by the helpful team. They arrange everything for you, and after the short briefing for the dive you can experience the variety of live the malidivian sea has to offer. Of course we were there to see whalesharks. They delivered the second and third day, when we would first snorkel and then dive with the friendly giants. Breathtaking. But not to forget all the mantas, the leopard shark, eagle rays, marbeled sting rays, turtles, lots of reef sharks, observing a cleaning station with grey reefs and of course all the small things: we talk nudibranches and corals of every colour. And Romney gets the perfect shot of it all. In the evening we get to see the best shots in the video that mette creates for YouTube. Awesome recap. I will definitely watch them all over again. I arrived with only 9 dives and was overwhelmed by the imagination of doing 22 in 2 weeks. We ended up doing 24 and I could do my nitrox speciality and advanced open water. Seb who leads the diving education took a lot of time and patience to teach me all the important stuff and helped me improve my abilities step by step. I value that it is always about being safe first! But fun was never missing. Lucy, Cam and Dylan made sure of that. Sohag is the secret weapon for finding exciting stuff while snorkeling and of course makes the best coffee and coconut in between the dives. We were even allowed to set the drone up on the boat. As I mentioned, the team wants to help you where it’s possible. No need to say, that they all have a warm and welcoming attitude, you feel that you belong without great effort. I had to cry on departure day, because it was such a great experience and I am really gonna miss them all. I hope to make it back soon. Came here with my partner and safe to say the whole experience was amazing. Stayed for 9 days with 15 dives Lucky enough to go to the Maldives last year and had a great time at a resort island but this was completely different in a great way The hotel staff, owner and dive team were all extremely friendly and it felt like a little family with dives and snorkelling available every day. Saw some incredible things including Whale sharks, Mantas and a huge variety of other things The diving was varied and the dive team made sure everyone had a mix of dive sites during their stay. Had 100% certainty in the dive instructors and equipment. Would be a great stay for any experience. My partner did her advanced course and I did a photography course which would highly recommend as you get 1-2-1 time with the instructors The island is a local one which is a really nice change from the resorts. It is alcohol free just so you are aware but the beach goes on for 4km and you can snorkel down one side. The food was also fantastic the chefs made a variety of meals for you and couldn't fault any. Loved our stay at Boutique Beach! The room was very comfy with an open ceiling shower. The food is amazing and the chef adapted the menu for my wife’s allergy. The best of all is off course the diving. We did our Advanced Open Water and Nitrox with them. Our instructor Cam is the best :). Very professional, caring and went all the way to show us as much as possible. We saw whale sharks, reef sharks, rays ( even an ornate eagle ray ) and plenty of beautiful fish. They were also very flexible and helpful with all logistics ( thanks Mette) so we had all sorted out stress-free. All the staff were very nice and made us feel at home. We will be back for sure. Ahh and the beach right in front of the hotel is lovely ;)

BB's is run by the most charming, loving, caring, professional and personable people in an all-inclusive hotel that I have ever been to, without the boredom, and the ridiculous extra fees of excursions that luxury resort hotels charge guests in an already overpriced resort. It’s all in the details of their performance as a team, and how they work joyfully with the guests, and one another. They don’t skip a beat with their responsibilities, they share each other’s workload while also staying in their work “lane.” Everyone cleans, everyone helps, and everyone prepares HAPPILY. All the guests see and experience this, making it easy to make friends with each other and feel lucky for being part of BB’s. I have to give a shout out to Cam, my PADI Open Water Diving Instructor. Such a positive, knowledgeable, and patient instructor, which is necessary for any first-time/novice diver. Nothing but smiles and giggles, but will be firm and commanding when it’s instructing/serious time. She explained everything that I didn’t understand, and I didn’t understand anything (she had to explain things multiple times, without a trace of annoyance)! She’s easy to follow, and she literally became my “buddy,” and a friend. She helped me through an unexpected and anxiety ridden moment under water (completely my fault), and I am grateful that her expertise and training as a diver helped me overcome my struggle. VERY friendly and helpful staff in the hotel and while scuba diving! The room was very spacious, excellently equipped and very clean. The food was just excellent. We have rarely had such a good diving experience. The well-trained team took care of all the preparation and follow-up work and were very motivated. The equipment was impeccable. The BB is truly amazing, everything is about unique experience and the team makes sure you get one, from the morning till the evening, the food, the daily trips at the sea and all in between. We were really impressed by the greatness, kindness and attention of the whole team, taking care of each of the guests individually. And even the guests, everyone was amazing, interesting and fun, it was very nice spending the daily trips on the boat together. BB was far more than what we were expecting and would like to return one day.

We had a truly magical time at Boutique Beach! The diving was exceptional, as were all of the staff. Seb and Dylan made sure we had a fantastic experience underwater, including a whale shark encounter, while Chef Shanthi, Afzal, Saeed and the rest of the amazing team made sure we had a fantastic experience at the hotel! My husband and I really appreciated how considerate Chef Shanthi was about my dairy allergy, making incredible meals and desserts that I could enjoy. Dhigurah is such a beautiful island, and we had many awesome encounters with beautiful schools of colorful fish, eels, Manta Rays, sting rays, whale shark, turtles, beautiful coral and more. We will never forget our time with the Boutique Beach team and hope to go back again someday :)
