Firstly, I need to emphasise that our holiday to Kuda Rah was part of a special arrangement that Qatar Airways Holidays had exclusively with the resort for residents of Qatar who had clear CoVid tests.
As another reviewer has stated, this is not a 5 star resort nor is the accommodation 5 star. We have been to the Maldives a number of times before and the resort is comparable with 4 star resorts on other islands or 3 star in the Caribbean.
We stayed in a garden villa with a private pool. The layout of the accommodation is nice with a bedroom and separate bathroom upstairs is spacious. The issue with the accommodation is that the fixtures are tired and in need of repair, the patio doors are not secure and the pool was grubby. The worst aspect however was the sofa downstairs which was heavily stained, presumably where previous guests had sat on it covered in sun cream or something else but it was very off putting. We mentioned it when we were shown round on arrival and were told that housekeeping would attend to it but it did not happen.
As there were only 44 guests on the island, only the buffet restaurant was open and neither the boutique nor the souvenir shop were open because the resort was being run on minimal staff. The food choices consequently were limited and on at least two evenings we were unable to find anything appetising for our evening meal.
That’s all of the negative aspects.
The saving grace for the resort are the staff. They were all fantastic. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed; towels, water, toiletries, tea/coffee and were incredibly flexible if needed. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the chefs took time to find out what you would like to eat and then made what we had asked for for dinner twice and breakfast twice. The bar staff were rushed off their feet having to help out in the restaurant and cover any room service but looked after us very well. The reception staff were so helpful and the WhatsApp group was really useful. Finally the water sports and dive centre is well run and the trips are good value.
We understand that the resort is now having a “deep clean” prior to fully opening to visitors from multiple countries so hopefully they can get everything really clean or renewed before that because it’s letting the excellent staff down at the moment.

If there is one property I would re-visit, it would be this one. I celebrated my birthday here and their team, especially Aditya made special arrangements for my birthday. Mr. HP singh, the General manager ensured everything was well taken care of.

The charming property has some of the most gorgeous rooms that overlook the ocean. All rooms have exquisite views, especially the beach villa where I stayed for four nights. The rooms are equipped with all the basic and luxury facilities and have rain showers in the open, a mini pool, a jacuzzi and a beautiful sit out area that faces the beach.

There are two restaurants, a bar, pool deck and a spa . The Ocean Spray restaurant offers buffet and A-la-Carte meals. The restaurant specializes in sea food and has interesting options for meat lovers.

The bartender Akbar created amazing mocktails that we enjoyed by the poolside. There is also interesting ways to keep the guests occupied , which included karaoke night and a live band that happen quite regularly.

Outdoor options include snorkeling, fishing and dolphin sighting. I especially loved the cycles that are perfect to wander around the vast property.

The spa offers the most tranquil therapies to guests and recharges the mind, body and soul. I loved the swings and hammocks placed in every corner.

They also take guests for Island visit that is an experience in itself. You get acquainted with the culture of Maldives.

Overall my entire experience with Amaya Kuda Rah was brilliant and I would love to visit it once again.

My wife and I spent 4 splendid days in this beautiful island resort.
I can start by talking about the staff, their cheerfulness and positive energy are clearly spread around the beautifully designed resort.
I would like to namely thank Eve, Kelum, Ganesh, Udaya, Jeff, Adel, Sanjeev and H.P and all the staff who we couldn’t get their names.
The food prepared by a highly renounced Chef Ganesh, very tasty and beautifully taken care of.
We took a water villa, where black tip sharks, parrot fish and rays can be seen swimming under it almost all day long. It was cleaned everyday, and has its own infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
The beaches are beautiful, we snorkeled twice, saw turtles, rays, black tip and white tip sharks. Wr kayaked and scuba dived.
The prices were so unbelievably cheap compared to the same services from other resorts in the Maldives

Calling this resort a 5 star is a bad joke! We stayed there on a recent bubble holiday. The resort is shabby and run down with poor cleanliness in common areas and dirty floors in the guest rooms, toilets, and patios. There is clearly not enough staff in the resort to serve the number of guests, so masseuses from the spa were forced to work in the restaurant and it was nearly impossible to find a bartender or a waiter during a meal as there were only 2 waiters serving and cleaning over 20 tables in the main restaurant!
The food on the buffet was of a very poor quality with limited options and live cooking limited to eggs for breakfast and the odd fish offering every other night at dinner. The chef was however very accommodating of vegan/vegetarian meal requests.
The resort failed to offer morning or afternoon food in accordance with the all inclusive plan we booked under, and when they were advised to offer food by our travel agent they tried to serve afternoon snacks to our guest room so that other guests wouldn't know they were also entitled to the same. In any case the quality of the snacks was very poor.
The all inclusive plan is very limited with no water sports included and a limited selection of drinks, which were hard to get in any case because it was very difficult to find a bartender to serve them. Minibar was not included as well.
Snorkelling was decent and I'm told they have a good but expensive dive centre, but this is to be expected in the Maldives. I would never stay at this place again, nor recommend it to anyone.

First of all, a big shout out to my man Rafiq from Sea Spray. His service was absolutely exceptional and everyone on the property needs to learn from him. He made us feel welcome, while the others, there's still a long way to go to be called 5-star service.

We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights with the all inclusive package. 2 nights in the beach villa and 2 nights in the water villa.

My wife and I both preferred the beach villa over the water villa. The quality of everything was just better in the Beach Villa.

The AC in the rooms is definitely not strong - this really needs to be looked into.

The food is average. There were a handful of times when the food was delicious. The rest of the times it was average. I think it mostly has to do with the temperature of the food as well. Some of the vessels at the buffet that are usually used to keep the food warm were missing the lids. Definitely not something you expect in a resort of this stature.

The rest of the staff at the restaurant wasn't really welcoming at the beginning. It's pretty easy to spot and I'm very sorry to say, but the chefs at the live counter seemed to be more welcoming towards the fairer guests. As the days went by, they warmed up to us as well and were chatty by the end.

The staff at the front desk could be friendlier as well. They come off as a little rude. There was some confusion regarding a free excursion that was included in our stay. We were notified of it when we first checked in, but when we called to book it, this specific staff member wasn't aware of it, said we weren't entitled to it and asked us to check with our Travel Agent. The confusion was cleared shortly, but it could've been handled better.

The water by our water villa was exceptionally clear and it was fun to snorkel in there. Lots of colourful fishes, reef sharks, crabs, eels and stingray as well!

The spa was amazing as well and a special shout out to Mia. They're all very warm and welcoming and the massages were exceptional!

All in all, we enjoyed our stay but we wouldn't come back here. The service just leaves a little bad taste in our mouth.

Splendid. One word to describe the experience at Amaya Kuda Rah.
The travel from Male to the resort itself is a unique experience as we take both the Air and waterway to reach the place.
The property is very well maintained and clean. The rooms are very good. The beaches are unpolluted and the water is pristine and clear.
The high point of the stay is the amazing water villa, which opens into a breathtaking view of the ocean in front of you
Also the natural large swimming pool formed in the ocean in front of the villas makes us forget the swimming pools in the villa and in the resort.
The staff have been courteous and very accommodating, even to some of our special requests.
Prateek took care of us very well, as is Udaya.
Sabrina and Hajar were very understanding and helpful.
John was excellent, as the manager of the restaurant when he made our stay special when he and team prepared grilled fish from the fish which we had caught the previous day in our fishing trip.
The food was very very good and very rarely we found a repeat item during the five days of our stay here
Maadh and Lucyana ensured that we were very comfortable and felt safe during the snorkeling session.
Hajar Sabrina
Overall, the stay at Amaya was a very happy, satisfying and fulfilling experience. Thanks to every staff member who made this possible.

We are so happy to have picked this resort for our first trip during the time of the pandemic. Ist turned out to be a perfect choice in so many respects. Unlike many other islands, Kudarah is one of the smaller ones with a smaller number of villas and suites which guarantees enough distance to your neighbors, also in the dining area. Furthermore, privacy in general is very much respected here. Service is always at your disposition - often beyond expectation and happy to assist you in every matter, but never intruding your privacy. Thus, Amaya can be regarded as the definition of hospitality. Special thanks goes out to Bayzid who kept the beach suite always in perfect condition. Housekeeping at its best! Besides keeping everything super neat, he often surprised us with petals and his towel art on our bed in the evenings - made with love! He contributed a lot to making that stay at Amaya special!
Since the water world is a magnet for travelers, for sure, we also want to highly recommend diving and snorkeling trips with Rotx and his team. They know how to please travelers‘ wishes excellently. We wouldn‘t have seen so magnificent underwater worlds with mantas, turtles and even whale sharks. A dream coming true.

It is a long way to come to Amaya resort from Male (seaplane and boat) but what a good viewpoint.
We booked a Beach suite villa on 2 floors with pool.
The island is very small with 56 villas, a huge spa, a fitness room, a bar , a tea-time restaurant and a huge restaurant.
Villa is confortable with 2 bathroom including an outside one.
Generaly speaking , staff is very professionnal and allways awaiting your needs.
Special thanks to Anamul , who was in charge of the housekeeping of our villa, he really did the best (not only his best) and anticipated our needs. More, as you can see on joined picture, Anamul is an artist.
Food is good even if indian oriented, but as usual, waiters did what possible to fulfill our whishes and likes.

The place is extremely nice and the staff is very good and kind, always greeting with a smile and available for anything.
We had a beach suite which is super, with two floors, a super nice patio (and also a balcony on the upper floor). From the patio you can access the beach directly and there's plenty of marine life (even little black tip sharks :)). We saw the water villas and thought that the beach suites were even better for the location (water villas have access to the water but there's a breakwater wall right in front so it feels a bit limited).
Restaurant is ok (we had half board, so got buffets for breakfast and dinner). There is also a bar with typical bar food which we used for lunch (a bit on the expensive side, but still cheaper than the combined full board, and at least we got some alternative and more flexibility with the lunch time). Bar staff is also very nice (Ahbar is so nice!).
Best thing for us was the dive center - everybody was so welcoming (Adam even allowed me to dive for free while my gf did her check dive) and Sam went above and beyond to bring us to see the whale shark and the mantas (he was almost more excited than us and made it all so much fun! The dive sites were super even without the whale shark and mantas: Rangali corner was probably my best dive ever, and we even saw silvertips apart from grey reef, black tips and white tips!!)
