Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean and tidy but dated and overpriced I much prefer Mablethorpe as nothing in the area and it’s a noisy road. Sadly we couldn’t get into our normal accommodation so thought we would give it a go but it lacked the atmosphere and friendliness so wouldn’t recommend or return. Needs updating on website as some information not accurate.

What a lovely comfortable place, the hosts are welcoming and friendly, very knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and so well done. A comfy bed, plenty of pillows, coffee, Tea, everything is excellent. The style f decoration is superb a very smart homely feel, the food is delicious and my Coeliac disease was well catered for. I felt very safe knowing that my food allergy was well understood. I don't think you will find a better place to stay.

Stayed for 2 nights a week ago at this lovely B&B which was built in the 1600’s but is definitely in the 21st century with all its facilities. Garden Room was very comfortable with separate shower and toilet areas, tea/coffee facilities and recyclable bottled water provided, topped up on request. Ann and Jim made us feel very welcome and breakfast was excellent, all cooked to order, with a selection of fruit juices, fruit salad, cereals and toast. Would definitely return again and recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Excellent 2 night stay here. Super clean and comfortable. Charming hosts and fantastic freshly cooked breakfast with lots of choices. Parking is a bit tight but was made easier by the hosts allocating specific spaces. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area. Nice and quiet.

The Old Manor House is set in an idyllic, well-manicured garden area off the main road; we had a very warm welcome from the owners, Ann and Jim. We were shown to the ‘Garden Room’ which is the only room on the ground floor. The room was nicely decorated and was immaculately clean. The patio doors opened onto a small, private garden with a couple of seats and connecting table. The toilet is separate from the shower which is accessed by a couple of steps up, leading to a big cubicle and the shower has plenty of power. Breakfast was taken in a room off the main entrance hall. The menu was extensive, catering for most tastes and dietary requirements. The food is prepared to order so is nice and hot when presented. Food is sourced from local suppliers and is of high quality. Within the locale there are a couple of pubs, an Italian restaurant, a Chinese takeaway and next door to the hotel, a well stocked convenience store. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Old Manor House and would thoroughly recommend it, if you are looking for accommodation in that area.

We have just returned from a weekend at The Old Manor House in North Somercotes and thoroughly enjoyed our restful stay. *Firstly, the current owners only took over in Sept 2019 so please disregard any negative reviews that were placed before they took over* We had the Garden Room which was lovely. Very clean and had everything we needed. Good, hot shower and toiletries provided. Tea/coffee making facilities and lovely patio doors that opened onto our own little private garden where we enjoyed a cup of tea and a biscuit whilst watching the birds. The bed was also very comfortable - firm but not too firm - I actually slept very well which I rarely do away from home. Breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection of options. We went for fruit, yoghurt, juice, traditional full English with toast and tea/coffee - it was all scrumptious and we left full and happy. Jim and Ann were wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful and although we didn’t need any assistance with anything during our stay, I certainly felt like they would’ve helped us out if we’d needed anything as they were very approachable. We liked that we had our own designated parking space too. Whilst there we ate out at the Axe & Cleaver pub which was only okay (probably wouldn’t return) but on the second night we ate at GiGi’s Italian (3 minute walk from The Old Manor) which was fabulous! Food and service were second to none and we can’t wait to go back for another meal! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Manor House and are already planning when we can fit in another visit. *Top Tip - If you decide to visit, call the hotel directly to get the best available price. This is what I did and not only was it cheaper but they still offered free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
