We stayed at the Presa Hotel towards the end of a three week motorcycling holiday to Portugal on our way back to Santander. Our room was stunning with the most comfortable bed ever that after an hour or so there we decided to stay for a second night. Very little English is spoken by the staff but we somehow managed... The first thing to understand about Riano is that it was built to house the residents of the 7 flooded villages, so it didn't exist 30 years ago! The hotel's public spaces, bar, restaurant, corridors are dark with objet d'art and paintings plus a lot of carved wood. The rooms however, are modern, light & well equipped with in room... More

We stayed here on our return leg to Bilboa of a recent motorbike tour after looking at various hotels in the area this just felt like home with my limited Spanish I understood the receptionists better English!! Offered us underground parking straight away for our bikes which is always nice when travelling to the Unknown. Room was clean and pleasant... More

This place didn't jump out looking at photos or even the no fuss welcome you receive at the front desk. However the views from the room was amazing, very very beautiful lake views. Over the course of three days we got to know the staff and they were really friendly, especially in the bar. You can get a drink and... More

Decent hotel, decent restaurant, basic but acceptable breakfast but what an odd town. If you've seen the French TV series The Returned you'll know what to expect. Old town sunk beneath water after a dam was built with a modern soulless town to replace it. Didn't seem to be any people around adding to the spooky feel. However- for an... More

What a great find! We stayed here for 2 nights on our motorbike tour of the Picos de Europa. What a view to see from your hotel room, and Riano must have the petrol station with the best views in the world! The owner let us park our bikes in their underground storage area - a little hair raising given... More

After a 320 mile ride on motorbikes in torrential rain and temp of 6c the welcome we received at Presa was heartwarming . . . . Especially as we had just discovered our Ferry home the next day had been cancelled. The young man on reception spoke very good English and let us park in the underground garage. The rooms... More

We really loved returning to this hotel. Spacious rooms, spacious staircases, a lift, beautiful beds, spotless. From the minute we dragged ourselves through the foyer, glimpsing the wood fire bar area with logs crackling in the hearth we knew it would be good, and if was. Hot chocolate in same area later with crisp autumnal air outside was heavenly -... More
