We have just returned from a truly enjoyable weekend at Apples in Rutland where we were made to feel so welcome along with our dog by Jacquie from the moment we arrived. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast was perfectly cooked with all local ingredients and the homemade biscuits were a nice touch along with the tea and coffee. All of the personal touches made it so much better than staying in a hotel with little atmosphere or personality and we would highly recommend this B&B to others.
Well done Jacquie

found our room key in a key safe. The room was clean and a good size with fresh milk and shortbread for a cup of tea/coffee. There was room to hang clothes and the bathroom was an ok size. We also had two small dogs which we were allowed to bring for a small surcharge. The B&B is well located for the beautiful Rutland Water and other towns and villages such as Stamford. Jacquie was a great host and served a delicious breakfast with eggs cooked how you liked! Fully recommend staying at Apples B&B.

Apples was a marvellous find. As other guests have said, we had a delightful welcome from Jackie the owner. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about local places to visit.
It is in a peaceful location but near to the towns of Oakham and Uppingham.
Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The garden is lovely and although the weather was not conducive for sitting out it would be perfect for this in good weather.
The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked by Jackie.
All in all a perfect place to spend a few days.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst we were in Rutland for a wedding. Jacquie was a brilliant host and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was perfect and very quiet and the breakfast was delicious. We had everything we needed, the location was very pretty and perfect for us! We would definitely come back and recommend this B & B to anyone who needed a quiet relaxing weekend away.

All the glowing reviews on this site are well deserved!!
Extremely comfortable room, excellent breakfast, lots of useful info on local area (in your room), nice ambience...
We only stayed one night but Apples would be ideal for a longer stay too - a great choice!
Thanks Jacquie!

We stayed here for a couple of nights last week and when we left it felt like leaving a friend or family member. Jacquie is a delightful lady and she keeps her business top notch. We have always stayed at b/b rather than soulless hotel chains and have always given honest reviews. I believe reviews are by far the best way to get a good deal and an honest opinion. This beautiful cottage is cosy although not tiny and lovingly kept by Jacquie and ably assisted by the adorable Alfie - he is one super friendly spaniel and obviously the Boss! We were shown to our large spotless bedroom and en-suite. Super comfy bed and springy pillows. Bed linen was very good quality and the newly laundered fresh smell was very inviting. Jacquie will cook you up just about anything you could want for breakfast at a time of your request. Nothing was too much trouble. It isn't always easy to feel immediately at home in someone else's home, but there was not a second of anything but a warm welcome here.. Like visiting an old friend or family member. Breakfast was a special event chatting to the other guests and Jacquie whilst enjoying a freshly cooked breakfast, oh and before that fresh fruit salad or poached pears with granola and yoghurt. Cereals as well and home baked bread, finishing off with more toast and home made marmalade. We will be going back to see Jacquie. I am sure she gets a lot of repeat visitors and that is how you define a good b/b. Thank you Jacquie, another friend to put on my Christmas card list.

We stayed one night here. We were in the garage. Don't worry.. it's been really well converted to a lovely room with an albeit quite small ensuite. Very comfy bed. The breakfast was fine, Jaqui is a welcoming host, even talking us into the b&b when we got lost on the way!! The garden is beautiful. We can't forget Alfie the friendly dog!! If you are cycling around Rutland Water, this is a perfect place to stay. Recommended.

A pefectly relaxing stay in this delightful five star bed and breakfast, a little gem. We stayed in Pippin, a garden room, which was beautifully appointed, so cosy and had everything we needed including delicious homemade shortbread. Our Host Jacquie was such a lovely person, most welcoming we felt we had known her for years and it was like staying with friends .Breakfast was delicious and the only regret was that our stay wasn't long enough. Carry on with the good work Jacquie and we loved meeting Alfie the Cockerspaniel a real treasure.
