We saw the weather forecast for this weekend midweek and decided to take full advantage of it . (23 degrees C promised!) We travelled from Gloucester and it took less than 2 hours towing our Isabella Camplet trailer tent we stopped too for a break. We were welcomed warmly by Alison & Malcolm & shown to our pitch. We chose a gold pitch as it had its own electricity & water supply & a little garden to the side with its own bench. It is landscaped with mostly native trees & plants attracting native species of wildlife & so attractive too with all the Autumn tints. Alison even brought a leaflet over for our son (17)whom I said was interested in photography-very thoughtful! The campers kitchen had more than I've seen in most campsites. Hot water ,big sinks, fridge you were welcome to put some food in (just put your pitch no on it so they know you haven't left and forgotten about it!)kettle & microwave too. Lovely warm shower block with radiator on wall, baby change table & good loo roll & soaps etc I saw Alison checking it regularly when I was in there. Showers (take a £1 coin for about 5-8 mins I would say-just guessing there) some of that goes to Air Ambulance charity. We took the walk from the footpath at the back of the campsite left at the gate to Winterbourne Stoke - over the bridge up to a lovely chocolate box cottage & church & walk to the main road ,its very busy cross carefully! Take a torch to see to get home ,its dark by 7pm this time of year!We had a lovely meal there at The Bell. They stop food at 8 pm& are closed tues & wed for food.We drove to Stonehenge & had a wonderful day there, we actually walked from the visitor centre to the Stones & back to get the full effect of the landscape & experience but there is a shuttle bus every 10 mins or so if you would rather do that. Although the site is run by English Heritage a lot of the land around it is owned by the National Trust so our card got us in free. Found another lovely pub (by coincidence also called The Bell by car few miles away in a beautiful quiet quintessentially English village Called Wylye ( pronounced Wy-ley) excellent service from the friendly landlady. Next day, sadly time to leave, but we called in to Avebury village (less than 25 miles away)which has a large circle & Avenue of stones similar age to Stonehenge-there is actually a village inside the earthworks & fascinating Manor ,museum , Inn & shops selling mostly crystals & mystical things. All National Trust, so our family membership has earned its keep this year already! So glad we found this gem of a campsite!

Campsite was lovely, clean and spacious. Our moonpod we stayed in last weekend was idyllic, roomy, very cute. It had a little private garden with fire pit which we loved and we had a great time away from the world, with just the horses for neighbours. Allison couldn't do enough for us and we will be visiting again next year. Massive thank you from us both for making our weekend. Big hugs to H the dog! Huge thanks. D&G. X

Very lovely site, brilliant facilities and lovely hosts, really enjoyed it. Close to Stonehenge and also good for bike rides. Thanks to Alison for being so helpful with going way beyond what we expected, our first trip with a campervan and it was joyful

Wonderful place! Clean, tidy and truly welcoming! The Barrell Pod we stayed in was comfortable and clean with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge! The communal toilets and showers were pristine, with lovely little homely touches! Will definitely be back!

What a fabulous site ! We had an amazing stay here this weekend. The hosts met us upon arrival, lovely warm welcome and very accommodating to us on two big motorbikes. The site is very well kept and had all the amenities you could possibly want. The toilet and shower areas were kept clean to a high standard. Short walk to the nearby pub and shop and very short drive away to stonehenge. Would deffinetley recommend and will deffinetley be revisiting !

An absolutely beautiful campsite. The setting is stunning and the grounds and facilities are kept immaculately maintained by the wardens Alison and Mal. I booked the campsite from Portugal, we were taking ownership of our new caravan on site and required storage facilities and towing to and from same. Alison was incredible, she made the whole process a seamless service. We did notice a couple of other staff but we didn’t think they seemed to be actively supporting Alison and Mal particularly well. The only other issue was the poor Wi-Fi service which needs to be upgraded . Regardless of this we have booked for April when we hope Alison and Mal will be the wardens.

I love this campsite. Whenever I visit Stonehenge for the solstices or equinoxes I stay at this campsite. Staff are super friendly, the owner is a passionate cyclist like me and especially Allison was friendly and helpful on my last visit. What I particularly rate is that campfires are allowed and for a small fee you can rent a portable one. Stargazing and camping there thumbs up!! 🌜

This campsite was delightful. The grounds were incredibly well kept. The views were stunning. The managers were so welcoming and friendly, not to mention incredibly helpful with walking routes, forgotten electrical cables and buses. The shower blocks were clean and the water was hot. We would 100% stay there again!

What a great week we had at this campsite. My wife and myself took our 2 dogs and had a wonderful time. The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The site was very clean and tidy and the showers and toilets were spotless. I would definitely recommend Don't believe all the negative reviews you can't please some people Many thanks to the team for a great camping holiday
