Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another awesome visit to Fumel, in fact so good we’re off back again in a few weeks 😁. Peace and quiet beyond comparison. A rare adults only destination in one of the prettiest places in France. An ideal base for exploring the Dordogne and sampling the local food and wine.

Great place great location and great hosts - everything you want from a holiday. Close to some spectacular locations along thé Dordogne including Bergerac - the local town Issigeac isn’t bad either and has a good Sunday market. Definitely somewhere we will be returning to.

Our daughter and son in law stayed here in 2005 and loved it. As parents they are now 'ineligible' to return until the children are grown up, so we decided to 'take their place'. It is idyllic, very quiet, wonderful views and so relaxing. The gites are very well and stylishly equipped, they have thought of everything. Bunty and Dave are most welcoming and are keen to see that their guests are happy. The pool is amazing, beautifully maintained with ample loungers, tables and chairs in the area. We loved the evening 'get together' for aperitifs, chatting to the other guests. It is very laid back and in a beautiful area with many interesting places to visit within a short drive. Thank you Bunty abd Dave, we will be back.

Fabulous place to chill or as a central base to explore this wonderful region. Just 15 mins from Bergerac airport and all you will hear is the wind in the trees. Just 3 minutes drive from the medieval village of Issigeac with its buzzing Sunday market, all you really need shopping and numerous restaurants. Exceptionally clean and a very warm welcome with private, spacious, very comfortable gites. The pool is stunning, you may never leave!!

Found originally by accident we are actually reluctant to leave a review as it is so blissful we don't want it spoiled! Bunty and Dave have created wonderful gites out of old farm buildings and everything one could want for a relaxing holiday is provided especially NO WIFI or TV! It is brilliant to be away from the constant pressure of the internet and electronic 'entertainment'. Larger than average pool is sited so that the views are brilliant and voluntary 'aperos' each evening encourage you to share experiences and inform others. Within easy distance are loads of really fine (albeit pricy) restaurants - but the experience of fine dining on your holiday is part of the fun. Lovely walks in the neighbourhood, and places to vist all add to the experience - we've booked for 2019 (our 5th or 6th visit) already. Can't wait

Second year here at Fumel - Bunty and Dave again have maintained their very high standard in the accommodation and in the 'bonhomie' generated among like minded guests. Rather unfairly I'm loathe to publicise Domaine de Fumel as I really dont want everyone to know about it and book the weeks I will undoubtedly reserve for next years visit. Superb stylish touches in all the very different and individual gites. Slight problem with a dishwasher malfunction was rectified the next morning with a delivery of a new one. A home from home with comfortable beds and every comfort provided See you next year Bunty and Dave

We stayed at Fumel in September 2018, and WOW, what a beautiful tranquil place. We stayed in Martha’s Nest and although smaller than the other gites, it is more than adequate for a couple with everything you need and more. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The pool area is lovely with comfortable sun loungers (no need to put your towel out early in the morning, there’s plenty for everyone). Dave and Bunty are the perfect hosts who gave us a great welcome on our arrival. Throughout our stay Dave and Bunty were always on hand to assist with anything you needed. Guests congregated on an evening around the pool area for nibbles and drinks, and of course chat. Friendships were made and already we are planning our next holiday at Fumel. Absolutely fantastic, thank you.

What a totally amazing find. (we actually travelled in Sep 2016) My partner found this place on the internet by chance when we were looking for a late break holiday. We wanted a quiet , relaxing (no children, adults only) holiday in France and this place fitted the bill!. On arrival we couldn`t find Bunty so we went a walk around and found Dave and a few others by the pool. He has a unique sense of humor and at first can be taken the wrong way, but he is a lovely guy and will do absoluetly anything to help. We were introduced to the other couples there and everyone wasv ery nice helpfull and welcoming. Dave showed us around and explained the ground rules. Bunty turned up just has Dave was finishing off and was very apologetic that she wasn`t there to greet us, a nicer person you will not find!. Everyone was very helpfull and told us all about the surrounding villages, towns and area. Everyone was going out to Issigeac for the town square "party/festival" which happens on a weekly basis throughout the summer. So a quick shower and unpack and we were off, thrown in at the deep end (so to speak) What a totally fantastic amazing night! local music, food and wine stalls! All the locals a very friendly and there is even a Rod Stuart Lookalike! lol. The gites/cottages are wonderfully French! and you have everything you will ever need. The pool is amazing as are the views! They make their own wine and you can buy bottles at a very cheap price, and also know the best local vinyards to visit. You can also pick certain grapes from the vines for eating!. We met some truly wonderfull people there and have kept in touch. We will definetly be going again. I can not recommend this place enough. A wonderfull, peacefull, tranquil, relaxing holiday, memories that you will cherish forever.

Thank you so much Bunty and Dave for our wonderful stay in Les Bonnets for the first half of June. We had everything we needed including peace, quiet and sharing wine (including Fumel's own rosé) and cheese in the evenings with the other guests. We will be back!

Our fourth stay here and best weather yet. As I sit here in West Yorkshire in the damp, cloudy weather I remember the joy of sliding into the wonderful pool or sitting in the shade sipping a cold beer and completely relaxing to the frogs' chorus. The Gite was perfect for us with everything we needed to make our holiday comfortable. Boisse is ideally situated for visits to the surrounding ancient villages and vineyards and close to Bergerac Airport.
