Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a most beautiful place to stay. Sophie was a wonderful host and thankfully my mother in law spoke enough French to get through our stay. The weather was incredible and the rooms were large, spacious, airy and well furnished with gorgeous - comfortable! - furniture. Sophie also recommended a wonderful place for us to have a meal on our first night. I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you so much Sophie and my apologies for the delay in reviewing your fabulous property.

We stayed here one night and found the host very welcoming, the room was spacious and very comfortable and the breakfast ample and very good. The bathroom was also roomy with a great shower. Would stay here again if in the region.

It's hard to write a review which does not make reference to anything which one feels might need addressing - balance is important, especially in TripAdvisor reviews! But here, there is nothing to criticise, nothing to look for improvement on and nothing to stop us wanting to return again., and regularly!
From the charming hostess (and her lovely dog Poppy), to the well-proportioned house with its character and elegance, to the clean rooms, to the fabulous breakfast, to the recommendations for evening meals, this property lived up to our expectations and hopes and exceeded them. 4 nights as Sophie's guests went in a flash and we will certainly be back. Exactly what we hoped for: what more can one add!

We stayed for 3 nights and found it friendly, clean and relaxing.
The breakfast was good and it was nice to chat to other guests although you can choose to sit separately if you wish.
A quiet setting not far from a pretty town with some restaurant facilities.
We used it as a base for visiting Monet’s Garden (lovely) and Versailles (nice but busy).
Sophie is welcoming and phoned and made restaurant reservations for us. A pleasant stay.

We absolutely love this place! Madame Hamot went out of her way to make us all feel welcome as we took over the whole house as the family base for our son's wedding at the nearby Manoir de Corny. As more people arrived, there was croquet on the lawn (quite challenging as the horse regularly wandered over from his paddock to have a look at what was going on!), sumptuous breakfasts on the terrace and in the elegant dining room with homemade yoghurt and an array of special preserves all made by Madame. The beds and bedrooms are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are excellent. The views across the farm past the historic colombier are stunning and it is so peaceful. Madame's warmth and hospitality meant that we could not have found a more special place in which to base ourselves for our son's wedding...

We can't wait to go back. All our friends loved it too!

Thank you SO much Sophie!

You could ask for a warmer welcome from Sophie and her family to this beautiful house. We visited as a family with our 80 year old father to La Bucaile, a hamlet we used to visit veery weekend when we were children. It has hardly changed. Sophie could not do enough for us, helping us to visit old haunts. The house and bedrooms are beautifully restored and was a home from home for us during our stay. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much for Sophie in making our stay perfect. Merci infiniment pour votre acceuil ci charmant et chalereux.

Our bedroom (La Grande Loge) was spacious and elegantly furnished with double aspect views over the attractive old farm buildings and dovecote and a very nice bathroom with double basins, a huge bath, plenty of hot water and a separate WC. Also a very comfortable double bed and fresh bed linen. All very clean and well appointed. We were thrilled with it, and will return with our family for our son's wedding next summer. Breakfast was particularly delicious. Madame Hamot makes her own yogurt, jams, and assorted honeys and there was a magnificent spread of breads, and wonderfully buttery croissants. Our hostess was extremely helpful with numbers for taxis, and an excellent restaurant recommendation. She lives next door, so we had the house to ourselves which was wonderful and very peaceful.
Thoroughly recommend
