We had our second stay with Rodger and Susan last week and are already planning our return next year. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner, all of which were of outstanding quality. The garden room was spotless with high quality bedding and comfortable mattress and pillows. The welcome is so warm you feel like house guests rather than customers. The location is ideal to break the drive from ferry ports in the north to the Vendée and so quiet all you hear is birdsong. Highly recommended.

We spent a week at La Marmoire exploring the area and relaxing. Most people seem to stay one or two nights en route to or from somewhere else. Corinne and Laurent are the most welcoming hosts. La Marmoire is situated in quiet countryside, the lovely garden with a pool is relaxing way to spend time especially after a day exploring. The breakfasts are typical French croissants, jams, etc and each evening Laurent cooks a delicious three course meal very reasonably priced. We stayed in the ground floor le jardin which led outside onto the pebbled seating area. Corinne and Laurent are charming hosts who made our stay very special and we will certainly return next time we are in that part of France.

We took a break for four days of wonderful relaxation. There are new owners Corinne and Laurent and Laurent also understands the art of cooking. We had a room on the ground floor adjacent to the well-kept garden. From Le Marmoire you can relax or do something in the town of Chateubriant where there is plenty to do. The old farmhouse is located on a dead-end road so there is no traffic, the swimming pool and jacuzzi are available, neat and clean and in good working order. They are both French-speaking and try to speak English, but hands and feet can only get you so far.

As a group of 3 couples we stayed for 8 nights to celebrate various 60th/70th birthdays, using the house as a base to visit local areas, Vitre, Nantes (by train), Angers (including a visit to Le Lion D'Angers Racecourse) and Chateaubriant.
La Marmoire is a beautiful home set in the countryside and the hosts, Susan and Roger, are really helpful and good fun, and helped make our stay wonderful. All bedrooms are quality and comfortable, the indoor living area and outside spaces are great for relaxing. We made extensive use of the 'honesty bar system' and had huge breakfasts everyday, evening meals and the BBQ, which were lovely and fairly priced.
We strongly suggest you stay if passing by.

We were warmly welcomed by the host couple and received a beautiful room. A place where the host and the chef serve you an excellent meal in the evening (on the beautiful terrace in good weather), where you have the opportunity to chat with all the other hosts during dinner and where a delicious traditional French breakfast is served the next morning. A super nice place to relax and unwind, with a pool for hot days. Highly recommend!

The lovely couple who own and run La Marmoire were delightful and passionate about the place and gave us a wonderful time capped with an excellent meal and breakfast. The location is a rural idyll with a heated outdoor pool, a beautiful garden and walks from the back door. Highly recommend.

The location of the house is excellent, being just a short drive from the historic town of Chateaubriant. The town itself is interesting but is also useful as it has trains to Nantes and Rennes. We made good use of the facilities at the house, including the swimming pool, the honesty bar, the garden. Our hosts provided us with a delicious proper French breakfast - juice, pastries, fresh bread and hot drinks every day, and in the evening we were able to sample delicious dinners.

This was such a tranquil b&b to visit with within a wonderful setting. Our room was furnished in the French style and very chic. The owners were fairly new and were keen to make us welcome. A lovely swim finished off our day in the pool and we felt very relaxed after our one night stay. Breakfast was traditional and our hosts looked after us a treat. Definitely recommend this beautiful b&b.
