Anyone who is used to my reviews knows I’m fair, I give the positive and the negative sides Negative The fishing. This site should be a fishing Mecca, the size of the lake and the water quality is amazing, you can see right to the bottom, the water is crystal clear. Only two problems is water management. Although lakes need plant life, you need to stay on top of it if you want your water to be a good fishing spot. Unfortunately for Burton the lakes are over full of plant life, the cabbage like plants take over the entire lake bed, then there are the water Lilly’s. Your risking your tackle and line with every cast. The second thing is lack of fish. For the size of the lakes the stock levels are too low. During a 8 hour fish I only saw 1 fish jumping, with so many water insects on the water I should have seen the fish rolling a lot more. This is made worse by the over population of plants, you can’t cast out into the lillipads where the fish are no wonder hiding. Hence controlling the plants. Showers. Good. Clean fresh and modern, Bad. The automatic lighting system switches off after a few mins while in the showers. And no amount of arm waving would get them back on. I tested this from the disabled shower, there were no light sensors close enough to reactive the lights. A disabled person would or could have an accident as a result. Would recommend they look at this. Also. The shower heads need removing and descaling, the water jets are unpredictable, The showers are push button, which is fine. But. There is no temperature control, and though the water is powerful and hot, if your staying over the summer and need to cool a sunburn don’t use the shower as your gonna feel pain not relief. My advice. Get a regulator mixer fitted to the showers so people can control the heat. You’d have the added bonus of lower heating costs so would pay for itself. Pitches. Nice, clean, ground well cared for and plenty of space Bad point. Water points. More and more motor homes and caravans use direct connection to water supply, (as does ours), but although we had 20 meters of hose the water tap wasn’t close enough. Luckily I have an 85L feed tank so only had to fill once for a 3 day visit. No pitch side grey water drain, again for the same reason as the fresh water feed. That’s my moaning done. Now the positives. The beauty and quiet of this place is breathtaking, no road noise, just the sound of birds and nature. You wake up in the morning, look outside and have to pinch yourself your at a place so stunning. The staff are amazing too, happy, friendly, are happy to chat but also happy to leave you in peace. The shop has Salome stocks of food sweets icecreams alcohol, a few camping supplies and fishing section. But no bait shop. Again, as a fishing destination you need to separate the fishing to a separate shop so the sale of livebaits such as worm or maggot can be sold. Would we stay here again???? In a heartbeat. Didn’t want to leave. I know this sounds like it was a terrible place but is wasn’t and isn’t. I believe you’ll regret it if you don’t stay here. That’s my belief.

We stayed for two nights camping with electric hook up. Shower facilities and toilets were really clean and looked like they’d been recently refurbished. We got pizzas from the shop, which were nice but quite pricey. Overall a really good stay, would definitely stay again. Just watch out for the geese!

Room Tip: Only issue is the geese, quite a lot of them and the poo is everywhere.

We’ve stayed here before in our little Motorhome, I know it’s only 10 miles from where we live, but it always feels like a holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stay on the touring side and usually use a hard pitch as it’s easier to level our van. The facilities such as the toilets and shower area are modern and kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Noticed this time that there isn’t any piped music, which is a shame, but doesn’t deter from the overall experience. The location itself is outstanding, lovely well kept recreational areas and play area for the children. The lakes are beautiful and there is plenty of geese and ducks around as well as plenty of rabbits. Watch out for the rabbit holes especially at night, so don’t forget your torch! Burton Constable Hall is a walk away and well worth the visit, the cafe is good and the walks around the hall are fantastic. You can drive to the Hall if you don’t fancy the walk. There is plenty for everyone to occupy themselves. If you want to venture further, Hornsea, Mappleton beach, Withernsea and Bridlington are not too far away. I would definitely come back again and spend a few days here.

We have just moved our static caravan from a much bigger busier park on the coast to this little gem nestled away in the Humber side countryside. Lovely site, lovely people and extremely friendly place to visit. The movement of static caravans can be very complicated, the process was made much easier by the staff at Burton Constable who just about did everything, making the whole experience stress free. We are looking for a quieter holiday experience compared to our previous site. Burton constable offers spacious pitches on a very well kept site, the approach to site is aesthetically pleasant and views across the lake to the hall are stunning there’s a little site shop which offers lots of home made foods and good quality toys (not the usual camp site rubbish that breaks in the first hour), Also on site is a clubhouse, I called in fir a drink and fount it very friendly and spotlessly clean, the clientele were very friendly and the place was welcoming in general. We cannot wait to get going with our new location and explore this seemingly brilliant site. Oh and the best bit, you can have a little boat one the lake if you wish, what more can we ask for.

A beautiful place, lovely and clean. Well organised by friendly helpful reception staff and site wardens. Just had 2 nights stay in our motorhome, good site facilities. You do need levelling ramps the site is a little up and downy. Nice little shop offering a good selection of necessities and treats. Limited hot food but nice.

Me & my husband have just spent 9 days here in our touring caravan. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Lovely large pitches all with a beautiful view of the lake. Wonderful scenery and plenty of dog walks. Fantastic facilities, toilets and showers immaculate.great bar with helpful friendly staff. There was an entertainer ( singer) on one of the nights we were there he was really good and a lovely atmosphere. Large play area for children. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing to much trouble. 10/10

Although i love my visits to Burton Constable holiday park , i have never visited it with a wheel chair , unfortunately i had a wheelchair on this visit and was limited to were i coukd acess !! Really disappointed as all the paths were pebbled and unable to take a wheel chair , i could only acess pub or shops via road , unable to walk around lake or reslly acess anywhere else with out a car , i asked at reception if any disabled acess and they said i can go on the road ? Which i feel very unsafe . So ifyou have a disability dont bother going as we were stuck in van and love walks .

Thank you for comments and bringing your issues to our attention. We have reduced the speed limit on the roads across the Park and we do have a fully tarmacked road from the entrance right through to the touring field. However we will take your comments onboard when we look at future improvements.
