Our family of 17 aged from 1 to 69 stayed here Monday to Friday during Easter Holiday. We had the Coach House which was very well equipped. The kitchen and dining area was superb, allowing catering to be easy and fun (yes we did cook evening meals all week!) Dave was fantastic, all cots and high chairs were provided. Scrupulously clean linen. All sorts of kitchen equipment (including some we did not expect) was provided. Even though there were only 2 toilets, we did not find it a problem - it was rare that someone was waiting! Even a baby change station in the downstairs bathroom. Beds comfortable and a lovely area to sit in the evenings. Lots of videos and dvds if needed and games in the cupboard - they have thought of everything. Bond deposit promptly returned. I would highly recommend this holiday destination - you do need a car and to reverse down the lane now and again when meeting other road users but that is all part of the charm.... The internet was not working but in our case that was a bonus as the kids were not asking to play on their tablets etc...…
Shetton Barns is a very peaceful and beaujtiful place to have a family gathering. 22 of us stayed for a week in Kiln Towers and Wain House. Both well equipped and Wain House had a childrens adventure playground. The only noise you will hear are the sheep in the next field. Dave was very friendly and helpful, even when we set the alarm off! Hereford only 15 mins away and beautiful villages to visit and the countryside is outstandingly beautiful.
Our group of fourteen, mainly ordained Anglican and Methodist priests, were delighted with our rental of four barns arriving Tuesday 15th November 2016 and departing on the morning of the 17th. All of the accommodation was beautifully warm awaiting our 2 p.m. arrival where we were immediately greeted by the proprietor and shown around the accommodation. Given the relatively small numbers involved everybody was able to have a double bedroom of their own, three of which were en-suite. There was so much more of an air of peace, tranquillity and a great ambience in rural surroundings than would have been the case at a hotel or even at many retreat centres. All of the accommodation was very clean, really well-equipped and comfortable. We went out to eat in Hereford on the first evening, which is no great distance away, but the location itself revels in peace and quiet. The second evening we self-catered with great success, even managing to produce a three-course meal with three self-prepared main course and dessert options! There was ample parking as well and strolls around the area during free time were thoroughly enjoyable. Everybody enjoyed their experience so much that we are already talking about returning as a group next year!…
I hired out 2 of the barns ( Kiln Towers and Wain House) for my Fiance's 40th Birthday Party. The Barns themselves have been beautifully converted whilst maintaining a rustic charm. We held the main party in Kiln Towers as it was the larger property out of the 2. I had spoken to David the owner previously when i booked them and he was very friendly and helpful and allowed us to come and view them and have a look around a few weeks before the party so we could plan things. The gardens were very large and the Wain garden had a lovely kids climbing frame, swing, slide set which amused the kids at the party earlier on. Despite one drunken guest of ours making a bit of a disturbance in the early hours, everyone had an amazing time and David was very understanding about that one guest. I would thoroughly recommend Shetton barns for events or holiday rental.…
Stayed here recently as part of a large party. The barns are well converted and a good range of facilities however when fully occupied the lack of bathroom and toilet facilities is noticeable with queues forming. The rooms are not large and in some getting between the bed and the wardrope is a tight squeeze. Access is down very narrow single track roads with high vertical banking on either side and the lack of passing places means that meeting another vehicle can result in at least one of you undertaking a significant reverse. Once there the parking space is inadequate if fully occupied and you are juggling to get cars in and out. The outside space and views of rural Herefordshire are however good and live up to expectations. WiFi is provided and quite satisfactory= for those who cannot cope with otherwise disconnecting from he world.…
