Stayed here for one night after a days walking. A nice little place with friendly staff and a cozy room with log fire to drink a beer. Had breakfast in the morning which was ok but it was only £6. As for the room it was small but comfortable enough and had a great shower so that was good. Could...

My son and I spent two nights here on a walking trip to the Brecon Beacons. The staff are very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel provided everything we needed including interesting and friendly fellow guests. It is well sited for the centre of the Beacons. We had a very happy stay and look forward to returning.

This is a cosy and relaxed hostel in an enviable location set in the Brecon Beacons National Park overlooking the River Tarell with easy access to Pen Y Fan (approx 2.5 miles away) and many other walks right on its doorstep. The staff, especially Liz, really make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble to organise or...

Fantastic views and setting. Motion sensitive solar lights were a bonus walking back in the dark from the car park. Bunks ok. No reading lights or individual sockets, must have had their last upgrade before those came in. Nice Woodburning stove in sitting room but it got crowded, not space for everyone. Thick soundproof walls, didn't hear the excited children from...

We stayed here for two nights, one in a room and one camping. The room was very comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. The facilities in the hostel are great including clean toilets, well-stocked kitchen and a warm lounge area with a log fire. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Storey Arms car park (and thus Pen y Fan)...

A nice clean smallish hostel. The hostel meals were atrocious though. We were told they are now managed by head office. 2 course meal £10 not enough for children let alone walkers having climbed the hills in the rain all day. Our group of 11 all agreed terrible value for money and portion sizes abysmal.

Breakfast was far too expensive for too little food, don't bother with it. The self catering kitchen wasn't very clean and the room was far too small for the number of beds in it. I could only find one shower on the ground floor and the water wasn't very warm.

We (partner and I) stayed in an en suite room at this hostel. Arrived in the dark to a warm welcome. Ate our Indian take-away in the dining room then up to bed. Bed a little saggy in the middle (my partner is rugby-player build), but room and en suite (I know!) were great....a good night's sleep after a day's...

This was a fantastic hostel for me to spend a couple nights at on my own. Perfect for any solo trip or indeed as a couple / group. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and knowledgable in the local area. Food was great for both breakfast and dinner. A real cosy and welcoming hostel in an idyllic locations, I can't...

Lovely hostel, staff friendly and helpful from the off and the room was comfortable, the water hot and breakfast excellent. The only downside was the lack of wood for the fire but conversation flowed anyway. Location is beautiful and convenient for so much lovely walking.
