Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the honour and pleasure of being the last campers at Pencelli Castle this year. It was all as lovely as ever, though I was a bit embarrassed that Craig had kindly left the marvellous shower block heated and lit just for us. This is our “go to” site and we just love it. We had a great meal at the Royal Oak and cycled to Brecon to visit the excellent Y Gaer. We took the bus to Llangynidr and walked back over the hills. Another lovely week at Pencelli.

Quite simply the best campsite ever, can’t fault anything, lovely owners and excellent facilities. Short stroll to the local pub which by the way is also excellent. Close to many walks and pretty villages.

Best site I have been to, well set out pitches, the facilities are excellent with everything you could possibly want provided at no extra cost. Cleaned regularly throughout the day. Well stocked shop open all day, every day. This is a dog free site so such a shame there was a dog nearby barking on and off through the night

Booking was easy, and when we arrived the reception staff were very friendly. Our 5 tents were up in minutes. I had forgotten my blow up mattress. When I asked the Craig in reception, he actually went to his house and lent me a camp bed. Excellent service. A top site which was spotlessly clean, hot water and laundry facilities. I would recommend the site to everyone

Welcomed by a lovely friendly lady who gave us a nice spot on the orchard. Electricity, water etc all there. Very very clean showers en toilets. Really great place to stay. Pub with good meals and great beers just down the road. Easy acces to Brecon by foot or bike using the path beside the canal. Highly recommended

This is a wonderful campsite with freindly staff and amazing facilities. This is by far the most clean and we'll organised campsite I have ever stayed at. The toilets and showers are like a hotel! We have visited four times now and we will definitely return. You can easily walk into the mountains from the campsite and kayak in the canal. Can't fault it.

Possibly the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at. Excellent facilities, immaculately clean and well maintained. Ideal base at the foot of the Brecon Beacons. Also good pub for food and ale a 5 minute walk to the village.

Fantastic site we stayed at in a motorhome. Super clean, friendly, helpful and in a great spot for catching bus or bike riding into Brecon. Highly recommended. Shop was well stocked and resident staff had a good bank of information on the local area.

Had a marvellous 3 days at the multi award winning campsite in the Brecon Beacons. All the staff very very friendly and helpful. Facilities spotlessly clean (free showers) and a well stocked little shop in reception. Lots of choices of grass pitches with or without EHU. I paid £16/night (including owls at night) for a non electric pitch which was amazing as it is the school holidays. Prices go down in September and again in October just before they close for winter. I will use it again as a base for exploring the Pen Y Fan and Gap Road area on a mountain bike.

Room Tip: Just go and enjoy and relax. The Royal Oak pub about 10 mins walk away is a real benefit.

The site is so well maintained . The staff are so friendly and helpful . The bathrooms are super clean . The only downside is having to keep pushing in the button every few seconds . The water is hot but ideally would be adjustable . The top tent field could benefit from its own bathrooms as is a long walk to the block . We weren’t there so only a short walk for us . The pizza van round the corner on the Friday night was excellent and so friendly . Access to lots of nearby walks so an ideal location . The facilities for campers is great , fridges and a family bathroom . A really well maintained site .
